“My riding instructors at Foxcroft never forced a certain way to progress. Instead, they taught me to be kind to myself while staying on track to reach my goals. I’ve taken that lesson to heart so I can approach challenges at college and in life with grace.”

Williams College, Art History Major

Annie Bishop ’98

“The teachers at Foxcroft gave me the confidence to ask questions unapologetically and learn with an open mind. This made such a difference throughout college and in my career. I was able to grow from an assistant to vice president of creative and production in my first job, and eventually I cofounded my own production company.”

“‘Foxcroft girls aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty’ is a mindset Foxcroft instilled in me. Even when I felt intimidated at college as one of the only women in my engineering classes, I knew I could do it. Between the science and math classes I took and the confidence I developed at Foxcroft, I was — and continue to be — prepared.”

FIND A VOICE BOLD, CLEAR

Meredith Dietz ’15

We are the stewards of our future — and the future needs our advocacy, our listening, our laughter, and our ideas. At Foxcroft, we discover our voices — the voices that guide us through our careers and endeavors, express our authentic selves, and strengthen our commitment to one another.

Northeastern University, B.A., English, Communications Senior Writer, Lifehacker Stand-Up and Improv Comedian and Comedy Writer

“I felt so seen and believed in at Foxcroft. The ability to be shamelessly passionate instilled in me self-motivation that I’ve carried ever since.”

Meredith has written for publications like The Onion and Reductress and helped develop creative content for board games with Hasbro, Inc. Now she writes full time and performs at comedy clubs every single night.

Prior to her career in comedy and writing, she

was a Harpswell Foundation Leadership Resident, facilitating leadership training and analyzing international current events for Cambodian women in Phnom Penh. As she continues to find ways to not only share her own voice, but to encourage and support the voices of women around her, she credits Foxcroft as the place where her leadership skills and passion for comedy were fostered and nurtured.

“Foxcroft taught me how to see myself as an uncompromising force, how to cook up fresh ways to make people laugh, and how to look out for other women.”

Effie Kilmer ’11

Bentley University, B.S., Computer Information Systems Director of Data Governance, Microsoft

“Serving as class president at Foxcroft gave me the opportunity to present my thoughts and ideas to the whole school, which continues to give me a lot of confidence in my career today.”

After a life-changing microfinance internship in Ghana with a nongovernmental organization, Effie continues to work closely with the NGO more than a decade later in her role at Microsoft. She utilizes the public speaking and leadership skills that she honed at Foxcroft as she facilitates workshops, speaks at conferences, and helps those living with disabilities in Ghana advocate and raise funds for their lives and education.

Cathleen Gruver ’07

Roanoke College, B.A., Marketing and Art Marymount University, M.A., Interior Design Lead Interior Designer, Gruver Cooley

At Foxcroft, Cathleen was supported in cultivating her own voice and being herself to the core. Now, she empowers other women to use their own voices.

“Speaking up for myself and others was always supported. Being in a maledominated industry, I am able to help women use their voices. I learned it’s powerful to make people feel comfortable and confident within their environment.”

DEVELOP A

DEEP, CURIOUS

INTELLECT

Bianca McNeely ’21

We are thought leaders, innovators, and complex problem solvers. “All-girls” as in “all in” — we cultivate the intellect and empathy to ask bold questions, take courageous action, and create real change. And we do it all together.

“When I was thinking about college, I knew that I wanted to have a more global perspective going in, and I wanted to be able to flex multiple intellectual muscles at the same time — in language, history, policy, and analysis.”

After studying language policy through an Academic Concentration in Global Studies at Foxcroft, Bianca is now specializing in comparative politics and minoring in Russian and Eastern European studies. As a research assistant this past summer, she collaborated with other

During Betsy’s Academic Concentration final project, she taught herself Python. She now conducts research with the School of Data Science at the University of Virginia and uses Python in her everyday studies.

assistants to collect data on local election trends in Ireland. The group plans to present their findings at an upcoming conference. Bianca has truly followed her ambitions to develop a global mindset, and she credits much of her motivation and critical thinking skills to the language classes and Academic Concentration she completed at Foxcroft.

“There was such an emphasis on not viewing language or ideas through the lens of just one country or region. I’ve carried this global point of view into all of my studies and pursuits.”

“Being surrounded by Foxcroft faculty who supported me and expanded my interests has led me to a passion for data science — a passion that is informing my career path.”

“As a student who completed an Academic Concentration in STEM, I worked with computer code and loved the research process. One of my teachers encouraged me to go further and explore data science for my final project.”

Liliana Gallegos ’21

University of Vermont, Nursing Major

“Looking back, I can say without question that I was drawn to the healthcare field because of the great role models I had at Foxcroft in my teachers and the school nurses. The faculty and staff at Foxcroft are encouraging and supportive.”

Liliana hasn’t graduated with her degree in nursing yet, but she has already worked as a care provider and a medication technician, and is part of the Nursing Student and Staff Baccalaureate Education Committee. She is overflowing with passion, motivation, and a deep sense of care for fellow human beings.

As Liliana prepares to take her next steps, she is considering the ways in which she can pass on the support and preparation she has received and create a positive impact on the healthcare system.

“At Foxcroft, I was both a Bedford Art Scholar and an intern for The Innovation Lab. Through holding both of these positions and experiencing the School’s overall interdisciplinary approach to academics, I’ve learned how crucial it is to bring different skill sets and perspectives in collaboration with one another. I want to help build a system that emphasizes humility, equity, and holistic care.”

BUILD

CHARACTER RESILIENT, COMPASSIONATE

Our character fuels the decisions we make, the desires we nurture, and the dedication we have — to ourselves, to our communities, and to our future goals. Foxcroft girls cultivate character within our fierce community of understanding — and always expanding — hearts.

Carla Rodil Ciperski ’88

Georgetown University, B.S., Finance, B.A., Business Administration Country Leader, Amazon Web Services

“I was brave enough to do something that was completely out of my comfort zone because I believed in my skills.”

After working in finance for the first part of her career, Carla made a big change to a career in software technology as a solutions architect. She is certain this wouldn’t have been possible without the confidence she developed at Foxcroft — thanks to the support of her classmates and mentors.

“When I was in an environment with other girls who had the same values of kindness, determination, and intelligence, I was empowered to trust in my talents and capabilities.”

“I fell in love with English and writing at Foxcroft.
