BABES of New London babesofnl.weebly.com They serve many clients with a background of homelessness. Many whom live in local hotels provided by the county. The clients bring their children to BABES so that they may have a normal place to play outside of a small hotel room while Mom may look for adequate employment, rooming or have some time to herself to regroup. Clintonville Goodfellow’s Association clintonvillewichamber.com/business/clintonville-goodfellows-association Serving the Clintonville area, Goodfellow’s provides basic dry goods and food vouchers redeemable at local businesses, for perishable items to families and senior citizens. They also provide hats, coats, gloves, and boots where possible, and toys for parents to give to their children as Christmas gifts.
Fox Cities Festival of Lights foxcitiesfestivaloflights.org You can get lost in a half-mile walk through Darboy Community Park with dozens of holiday themed light displays. Many of these displays represent the Fox Cities including a 26 foot replica of the Little Chute Windmill, and there was no cost to attend. NeighborWorks’ mission is to engage the community to strengthen neighborhoods, improve lives, enhance neighborhood character, promote home ownership, and provide housing choices. The Farmory farmory.org They offer learning opportunities for individuals, in low income neighborhoods, to get the education needed for food self-sufficiency. One of the ways they do this is by gaining experience in the aquaponics farm and fish hatchery. Apricity apricityservices.com Apricity’s sober living program, Aloha, offers safe, supportive housing to men and women who might otherwise be homeless when leaving treatment for substance use disorder. They also receive training to get them a job, while having the support of the community.
