In my job, I spend a lot of time talking with members about loans, including helping young adults just getting started in the world get loans for cars, homes, and other necessities. During our conversation, I stress how important it is to have a strong relationship with us, because it means we can more effectively help you during emergencies.
For example, a member with a strong relationship with us contacted us looking for an emergency loan. This member needed $3,500, right away due to an unexpected expense. Because of our prior relationship with this member, we were able to obtain a loan approval within minutes. Talk about peace of mind. If you need some quick cash, you can call us and get the cash you need quickly.
Don’t let tax season turn into a scam season
Scammers enjoy tax season because their most effective weapon is fear, and fear runs rampant during tax season. No one wants to go up against the IRS, so pretending to be the IRS is an effective tool for scammers. Follow these tips to avoid falling into their traps:
•The IRS will never call you to notify you of a surprise tax bill, and they always make initial contact by mail
•The IRS does not accept gi cards as payment and will never ask you to pay that way
•The IRS will never call and threaten to arrest you or suspend your social security number for not paying them immediately
You can find more tips on how to avoid scams at foxcu.org/identity-theft-prevention.
