A message from our President/CEO and Board Chairperson

Board Chairperson, Rich Scott, explains, “One of the digital milestones we were able to offer is online account opening. We are able to add new members to our Credit Union, starting with an online process initiated at the convenience of the prospective new member. Once the process is completed, a team member reaches out to answer any questions that may have come up. Additionally, the ability to place travel memos on debit and credit cards through our Card Controls app, within Digital Banking, was implemented. Members can use this feature to ensure their cards will work uninterrupted while traveling.”

Chris Allen President/CEO Rich Scott Board Chairperson

Fox is passionate about you, our members. Our story…is your story. It’s a long tale, 84 years to be exact, of members coming together to help each other and build a stronger community. From one of our original loans in 1937 for a member to afford Christmas presents…to today’s home, auto, and business loans along with credit cards and various checking and savings solutions…we’re here to help build your story. That’s our story.

It’s a tough task, as the financial services world is continually changing, but our members can be confident that every one of our Fox Family is living our mission of helping to build stronger financial futures for our members and our communities.”

As Chris Allen, President and CEO of Fox Communities Credit Union, states, “One of the main reasons we exist as a cooperative organization is to help our members navigate their financial journeys. We want to help them create their unique member stories by offering financial services that exceed expectations.

The unpredictability and unique demands of the previous year had pushed ‘fast-forward’ on the already shi ing banking landscape over to digital services. We found ourselves asking how to best position the Credit Union to be able to offer our members the digital conveniences that were needed, without losing that personal touch that makes Fox who we are.

To gain continued insight into how we can better meet your needs, monthly and quarterly member surveys were executed. We know our members deserve our very best service, and by asking for feedback, we can gauge what we are already getting right, and hold ourselves accountable for the areas where we still have room to improve. How can we know your story if we don’t ask!

Our mission that we strive for every day is to be a trusted resource for our members to help build stronger financial futures. We emphasized this dedication by launching monthly live webinars focusing on topics like building credit scores, and how to get out of debt. We also hosted local radio shows in the Valley and Lakeshore areas, highlighting these topics and concerns, along with a segment on fraud tactics and ways to protect yourself and your finances so that, together, we can begin to minimize fraud.

We began building our new Oshkosh branch located off Interstate 41 and opened that branch in May 2022. The current office on the Winnebago Mental Health grounds will move, along with our team members and the smiles you have seen there over the years. The new location will include additional drive-up lanes, a coffee bar and teller islands where you can view your accounts side by side. We are excited to expand not only our story of member commitment, but also our loyalty to the Oshkosh community.

Fox continues to support our communities through events, sponsorships, and financial giving. Our annual Bike to the Beat registration fees and our team member holiday silent auction raised a combined total of more than $50,000. These funds were donated to the Fox Cares Foundation which works to end homelessness, relieve hunger, and support the arts. Over $75,000 in grants were given to area nonprofits to support many needed programs to strengthen our communities.

Our 84th year was one of coming back together as we navigated through the pandemic journey. It was filled with giving back to you, our members, through increased digital services, financial awareness tools, and never losing sight of why we are here. We’re here because you’re here. That’s our story.

From all of us at Fox Communities Credit Union, wishing you a prosperous and happy 2022!

We were started by a group of mill workers at the Combined Locks Mill who pooled their funds together to be able to provide loans to fellow mill workers, and have ownership of where they kept their deposit accounts. The first loan was given to a fellow mill worker so he could buy Christmas presents for his family. Our story leads to your story; helping you make life happen

1980 The first stand-alone office opened on the Mill property, and Greg Hilbert was hired as President and CEO, joining a team of four.

1939 We grew to 213 Credit Union members at the Combined Locks Credit Union Mill.

1974 We hit $1 million in assets allowing for a greater loan capacity due to the increase in deposits with a larger membership base. Credit Union was to raise money to be lent among its members.”

1979 We broke ground for our new office building on the Combined Locks Mill property.
