Kristina Hlaváčková was born in 1979 in Prague, but spent part of her childhood with her family in Nigeria. She started writing very early, but it was some time before she began writing seriously. In high school she won a scholarship to the U.S., where she found her way to one of her life’s loves - ceramics. Now she is working as a translator with the ČVUT and returned to study at Charles University. In the past she translated series subtitles for MTV and texts for a prestigious Chinese architectural magazine.

Kateřina Petrusová was born in 1982 in Pardubice. She wrote her first two short stories at the age of fourteen. Her next stories came about three years later, when she took part in writing competitions. Following that, her writing was again kept on hold until she met with a group of equally enthusiastic novice authors. Then there was no holding her back and soon her first novel and (subsequently) best seller entitled Dangerous Love appeared.

Sometimes, a single moment is enough to turn your life upside down. Margaret, the Creative Director in a small advertising company, knows something of this when a weekend in South Bohemia changes her whole life. What happens to this professional city woman who usually has her head screwed on? A couple of pleasant moments alongside a redneck cannot change her view of the world. Or can it?

DRAGON EYES Learning how to dance, sew and be pretty? It’s of no interest to Princess Elena. She wants to fight alongside her brothers and experience great adventures. Before she knows it, her dream starts to become reality. Her fateful meeting with a red dragon Ašrak changes the little princess´s life. She must leave her home and go to the elves in a magical forest, where her principle task is to learn to control and hide the magic that runs in her veins. But this is not a normal school for young ladies … Can Elena face all the changes and the pitfalls of fate that await her? With the help of a young dragon Charlika and a quirky friend Michael she will not be alone. But will this be enough, not just for her, but also for the future of the whole world?

She calls herself a gastrosexual. Sport is just necessary evil to prevent her from becoming fat. Her name is Clara.

Princess Elena comes back home after eight years. Her life is complicated by a nuisance dance teacher and her mother who is determined to complete her royal upbringing. A little period of peace starts to be disturbed by attacks of insidious flying lizards and other enemies. A war is just about to begin. The army of Berbers, black riders with covered faces, is getting ready for a battle. Elena wants to join them but a war is not suitable for girls. Or is it? The carousel of dangers, intrigues and treason starts turning and Elena heads toward her predetermined destiny. Will she resist the pressure and make the right decision? Will she help the peoples of Keral reach the long wanted peace or will she be tempted by power and brings them a disaster?

HE A lover of adrenaline sports. He climbs mountains in summer and frozen waterfalls in winter. Sport is part of his life, he cannot exist without it. His abdominal, back and gluteal muscles, as well all his other muscles, look accordingly to his lifestyle. He can eat a pan of sweet buns at a go and it leaves no consequences on his body. His name is Matthew. Can such different worlds coexist together? One bee sting and consequent allergic reaction proved they can. They were put together by an accident and their story can begin. Another great book by Kateřina Petrusová, a book which is as tasty as a praline. It has everything you like about her books: odd characters, great dialogues, unexpected twists, fun, romance and drama.

This is neither a chronicle of my childhood nor of my family. I wanted it to be a work of fiction. The authors of such literature not only remember what they saw or heard but also make things up and fantasise, so that their stories are worth reading. In this book I am telling the story of a little boy, moved from a big city to the country and how it affected his soul. It is both me and not me. The book is a mosaic in which some stones are real and some are just fake. However, you should not be able to tell which is which.
