I.TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY Deluge: A Discussion through Diorama II.RATIONALE It is common knowledge that Philippines is prone to typhoons and floods; especially during the months of June until August. Everyone is affected by these natural calamities: government officials, call center agents, businessmen, students, teachers, and every other person who travel from their homes to their workplace. However, it is children who are mainly affected by these natural calamities, they are being known to be the most vulnerable sector in the society travel through the use of public transportation. Basing on the results from the Needs Assessment conducted last July 30, 2018 (Monday), the WVSU Development Communicators’ Society will conduct another activity called “Deluge: A Discussion through Diorama.” The purpose of this is to further the knowledge and understanding of the selected Grade 7 students of Rufino Gamboa Memorial National High School (RGHMNHS) about floods, its types and kinds, what to do before, during and after a flood occurs in their area, and solutions. Kids at the age of 11-12 years old are able to take in more information and they develop the ability of processing complex information and data. The evaluation of this activity would be a mini-game, the rules of which would be a bit similar to “Paste-to-Face-It. This mini-game would determine if the children are able to identify which objects are important and necessary to bring in case a flood occurs in their area. III.OBJECTIVES • To conduct a discussion about floods, it’s types, preventions, and solutions through the use of a diorama among the selected Grade 7 students of RGHMNHS • To determine if the students are able to identify which objects are important and necessary to bring in case a flood occurs in their area.
