Musa | museo dell'acquedotto leopoldino,livorno
The project area is presented as a large free space defined by two major appearances, the acquedotto Leopoldino and the Purgatorio di Pian di Rota, the morphology of the ground is characterized by a slight depression. The design of the project fits discreetly in the context of the acquedotto itself as a continuum, enhancing the natural slope and considering the sign of pre-existing. The Cisternino is defined by simple interlocking volumes and proportions as well as severe if the simplicity of the cube or cylinder can better demonstrate the functionality of the tank. The rear facade becomes a long wall without any projecting decorative marked only by a small pediment interrupting its continuity. The emotional Poccianti’s architecture emerges in purity, in the proportions and mathematics of the design of the museum.
