What was your original inspiration for BrightStar Care?
I had a negative experience finding and managing care for a family member and realized there was room in the market for a high-end approach that ensured high-quality care and excellent customer service.
What sets BrightStar Care apart from other brands and as a franchise?
Two things: One is being the highest-quality concept in the category, the only one with Joint Commission [Nursing Care Center] Accreditation. The other is our franchisees, who execute this concept so well that we are the brand with the most agencies winning Best of Home Care awards.
What do you look for in franchise partners?
BrightStar Care looks for educated men and women who are self-motivated and have a high level of business acumen. Prospective franchisees must have the ability to manage and lead a team but are not required to have a health-care background. We also look for franchisees who fit our culture and have the ability to manage a workforce of hourly employees.
Do you have any big plans for the future?
One of our core values is continuous improvement, which applies to our concept, its execution, and our commitment to work with our franchisees to make a business that’s successful for all involved. We are also looking toward new technology offerings and a modern ad campaign later in 2019.
