Content and format of the Compendium
• One of the formats is to follow a technology approach which is believed to provide more flexibility in terms of listing rather than a sector wise approach. • Technical feasibility (using local resources), Economic viability (Cost-benefit analysis), Environmental sustainability and eventually Social acceptability of the technology are important parameters to be included. Conclusions • Parameters to filter technologies have been developed. • The compendium can incorporate inputs from similar initiatives by other organizations. • The Compendium would primarily include indigenously developed, locally suitable and environmentally sustainable technologies. • The compendium needs to meet the aspirations of the masses, particularly the common man. Therefore, the Action Group needs to provide emphasis on technologies that could be used both in the urban and rural areas. Solution Exchange – an initiative of the UN Country Team in India
