Sofiyivka Park in the city of Uman will make you feel as if you’ve fallen into a fairytale. In Autumn, it is particularly beautiful there, when the leaves change colors. The park was founded in 1796 by Stanislav Pototsky, a man from Poland. In 1802, Stanislav gave the park to his wife Sofia as a birthday gift. The park is open for everyone.

Among Ukrainian people with strong innovation competencies is Igor Sikorsky. Mr. Sikorsky, who was born in Kiev in 1889, invented the helicopter.

In 2001, when Igor was 12 years old, he made a model of a helicopter, powered by rubber bands, that rose into the air. The parliament of Ukraine has 450 members who serve 5 year terms.  Half of the parliament members are directly elected in single-seat constituencies by simple majority vote.  The other half are directly elected in a single nationwide constituency by proportional representation vote.
