THE JOY OF CHARTERING Imagine putting the first footprints on a deserted beach, being totally pampered and savoring gourmet cuisine. It’s all waiting on board your own tailor-made luxury yacht charter.

A yacht charter vacation provides you with total luxury, privacy, and security. Imagine your charter yacht as a floating villa, staffed with crew trained to discreet and attentive seven-star standards, as well as a chef who learned their gourmet skills in the finest restaurants around the world. Unlike a resort, you don’t have to share the staff or the spa tub with anyone else. And unlike even the best villas on land, you get to have a new view every day, while all your luxury accoutrements come along with you.

The suites and staterooms aboard luxury yachts can put the finest penthouses to shame, while guests wanting seclusion can enjoy their privacy far from prying eyes. And, in a world with disturbing headlines, the security aboard a luxury charter yacht is an absolute. Don’t worry about being out of touch, either: modern luxury yachts have better communication systems than you have in your office. From satellite communications to Wi-Fi to video conferencing, you’ll be able to keep an eye on business while your family plays. Luxury charter yachts are one-of-a-kind vessels, designed by noted naval architects, built by the premier shipyards around the world, and equipped with the very latest in entertainment, safety, and security technology. Your crew is multi-talented, often including nurses or paramedics, massage therapists, hairdressers, fishing guides, and personal trainers.

CUSTOM-DESIGNED FOR YOU Your yacht vacation will be carefully tailored by your charter broker and the yacht’s captain to meet and exceed all your expectations. Want to put the first footprints on a deserted beach? Or dance until the wee hours at the hottest clubs? No problem. Hone your skills on a paddle board, snorkel where squadrons of rainbow-colored tropical fish swarm around your face mask, zoom across the water on a jet ski, or try to break the bank at the Monte Carlo Casino. If shopping is your sport, explore chic boutiques in St. Barts and Saint-Tropez. A luxury yacht charter vacation is most definitely bespoke, because no two are ever alike.

LIFE ON BOARD Linger over a multi-course dinner prepared exactly to your taste, right down to a perfect crème brulée. Laze in your soft bed before being served fluffy croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice (perhaps a mimosa?) on the sunwarmed aft deck. And end your day sipping icy champagne in a bubbling spa tub under the stars.

5

QUALITY TIME You can take as many or as few family members and friends as you care to invite aboard your personal floating pleasure palace, and a luxury charter yacht is perfect for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or business successes. For kids, a luxury charter is a “bestever” vacation. The crew can help them catch fish, learn to snorkel or windsurf, and enjoy the myriad of water toys found aboard charter yachts, such as towed inflatables (for roller-coaster-like rides). Big kids will enjoy the hightech, high-octane toys on offer today, such as drones and flyboards. Expect the unexpected, too. Your crew may surprise you with a pirate-themed costumed dinner party or plan a secret picnic for you on a deserted beach. In fact, many crews are so beloved for their know-how and their sense of fun that they develop a following of charter clients who book the same yacht year after year.

SWITCH IT OFF Of course, if you’d rather leave all the work back on land, a vacation aboard a luxury charter yacht will certainly relax your mind, sweeping away the muddle from phones, messages, emails, and constant business meetings. It will refresh your body, swimming in warm waters and savoring luxurious massages. Most importantly, it will soothe your soul with new vistas every day and the opportunity to spend time with loved ones. If it’s peace you want, a yacht is the perfect place for quiet sunbathing, or you might choose a comfy couch where you can tuck away with a good book. With a charter yacht, you can make your vacation anything you want, from mild to wild, and change it again overnight. Whatever your dreams, chartering a luxury yacht is the best way to turn them into special and lasting memories. Aboard a luxury charter, the world is truly your oyster.

6

PLAN YOUR PERFECT CHARTER A charter yacht offers the pinnacle of privacy, freedom, and luxury. Make sure to plan ahead to make it your best vacation yet.

BROKER GUIDANCE IS INVALUABLE A knowledgeable yacht broker will dip into their many years of experience to guide you every step of the way. They know what’s on offer in the market and study all the new yachts and destinations; they are an invaluable resource for you. Build a strong relationship with your broker and they will learn all your requirements and always be on the lookout for the best yachts and destinations to suit your particular needs.

BOOK EARLY Don’t wait until the last minute to book your charter. The largest, top-quality yachts can often book up months ahead of the season. Don’t miss out on getting the yacht you want, especially if it’s for a particular event, such as the Monaco Grand Prix or Cannes Film Festival, where berths and yachts get booked pretty fast.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY Communicate early and often with your broker, chef, and captain. Everyone is working hard to make this the best experience for you and your guests, and they can better meet your needs if they know what they are. Likewise, if there is a problem, let your crew and broker know so a solution can be found.

CHOOSE YOUR TRIBE WISELY Spending a week at sea and taking part in unforgettable experiences is a bonding experience. So decide: is this a family adventure with your closest kin? Or an extended family reunion with multigenerational fun? Perhaps you’re planning a couples’

getaway with a few other like-minded friends. Or maybe it’s more intimate than that – a trip for two to some romantic, faraway land. Make sure you choose your tribe wisely and surround yourself with the right company.

CONSIDER YOUR CREW The most important consideration is really the crew. Look for a yacht that has a crew with a great reputation who can make your vacation unforgettable.

EMBRACE THE OFF SEASON If your dates are flexible, try to visit some of the most popular cruising grounds in their shoulder season or off season, when cruising conditions can still be great and crowds are few. Skip the high season of July and August in the Med and save thousands by booking in June or September instead. For The Bahamas, visit in late April to August – while technically the low season, it can be one of the best times to visit, as the windy winter cold fronts are over and you can enjoy perfectly still days.

FIND THE RIGHT YACHT Whatever you are after, there is a yacht out there that will suit you. Whether you’d like a fast-flying sailing superyacht to race in a regatta, an explorer yacht to tour uncharted waters, a yacht large enough for the entire family, or a glamorous classic vessel, there’s a boat out there that will be the right match for you and your party. Work with your broker to find the right yacht for you.

7

GO SOMEWHERE NEW

LEAVE SOME FREE TIME

While you can go nearly anywhere on your travel wish list with a luxury yacht charter, it’s good to have an open mind as your broker will suggest alternatives you might have overlooked. The Med and Caribbean will always be popular, and for good reason. But you might enjoy other areas you never considered, such as New England or the Pacific Northwest, which can be beautiful in October, or even as far afield as New Zealand and Chile, where the best times to go are November through January.

It might be tempting to pack your days with myriad activities, whether that means embarking on shoreside diversions or taking advantage of all your own yacht has to offer. But remember, one of the advantages of the yachting experience is embracing the laid-back lifestyle and slipping into a slower pace of life. Make sure you leave plenty of unscripted downtime for simple relaxation.

8

ADVENTURE READY Does seeing the Northern Lights, conquering the Northwest Passage, or tackling the icebergs of Antarctica top your bucket list? A yacht charter can help you fulfill these dreams and more.

Are you someone who revels more in the stunning beauty of the natural world than the stunning bill of a luxury shopping trip? If so, an adventure charter is just what you need. Adventure doesn’t mean a lack of luxury, of course. You will discover the natural wonders of the world from the deck of your yacht, replete with comfortable accommodations, spa tubs, and the seven-star service that you’ve come to expect from a yacht vacation. Explore the high latitudes of the Northwest Passage, visit local tribes in the South Pacific, play golf in the Caribbean, or heli-ski in Patagonia – returning to the yacht for hot cocoa or a cocktail to celebrate a day well spent. If you can dream it, a luxury charter yacht can make it happen. There are some travelers who are happy to see and be seen, and then there are those who want to see it all. Adventure comes in many forms: this might mean a physical challenge, the chance to engage in a favorite sport in a distant place, or perhaps something more mentally stimulating – traveling off the beaten track and seeing and experiencing something entirely different. Imagine watching the Northern Lights from the deck of your own private yacht. Or maybe getting up close and personal with penguins in Antarctica is more your thing. Or venturing up a steaming jungle river through a tropical rainforest, while watching Bogie in The African Queen in air-conditioned luxury. Perhaps you’d prefer to play the best golf course in the Caribbean, with the convenience of your yacht taking you right to that spot.

ACTIVE CHARTERS Whatever your choice of adventure, a luxury charter yacht is your chariot. If you’re a scuba diver, you can explore incredible dive sites in the most remote island chains where you may not see another boat for days. Many charter yachts have their own dive masters as well as tank refill equipment, and you can even certify your skills while chartering – either learning to dive or upgrading to an advanced certification. If you fancy any kind of active adventure, a luxury charter yacht can make it a reality. Kite-surf the breezy but smooth waters off Aruba or settle in at a luxury marina in Montenegro, which is only a helicopter hop away from untouched slopes for skiing and snowboarding. Want to land a trophy-sized billfish for the wall of your den? A yacht charter can put you in the prime spots of The Bahamas or off Costa Rica and Panama. Your skipper can even arrange to have your mounted trophy shipped to your home. If golf is your bag (excuse the pun), you can cruise from course to course through the Caribbean, taking on one challenging design after another – enjoying staggering views of the ocean from the fairways. When it comes to adventure, the wilder the better. Want to swim with giant whale sharks in Mexico’s Sea of Cortez? Fish for piranhas in the Amazon? Helicopter in to a mountain stream and cast a fly, and then have your catch grilled for dinner aboard your yacht? Explore the sunken warships in Micronesia’s Truk Lagoon? All of this and so much more is waiting for you on your luxury adventure charter. 9

This morning, take off for a helicopter tour, looking down on the beautiful lands and waters you’ve been exploring. After an active week, nothing beats a soothing soak at Bell Island Hot Springs.

DAY 8 | KETCHIKAN On your last day, make your way back to Ketchikan. Bid farewell to your crew before returning to the buzz of the real world.

DAY 3 | ELLE BAY Arrive at Ella Bay and after breakfast it’s time to head ashore for a meander on the Ella Lake trail. Animal encounters are the norm here: expect anything from wild mink to bears.

DAY 4 | PUNCHBOWL COVE One of the most magnificent stopovers on an itinerary filled with mindblowing locations is Punchbowl Cove, where vertical rock walls surround the impressive fjords. Cruising through this cove has been compared with being able to sail through Yosemite National Park.

DAY 5 | MANZANITA BAY Start the morning with a challenging hike, which will reward your efforts with beautiful waterfalls. For those who prefer to cast a line, the fishing here is excellent.

DAY 6 | WALKER COVE It’s a short jaunt to the postcard-perfect Walker Cove, surrounded by 4,000-foot peaks. Birdwatchers can try to catch a glimpse of trumpeter swans, bald eagles, and herons. It’s a lovely place to tour on the kayaks.

Then either climb the trail to the top of the island to take in the stunning views.

DAY 2 | ESPAÑOLA & PUNTA SUAREZ After cruising overnight, you will awake in the morning off Española Island. Then head back on board for one more dinner before disembarking at Baltra Island the next morning.

DAY 6 | JARDINES DE LA REINA

Meet your yacht at Marina Hemingway, named after Ernest Hemingway, who loved Cuba and lived on the island for many years. The marina is just a 30-minute drive from downtown Havana, where you can wander the streets, taking in the curious contradiction of its fading colonial architecture and vibrant culture.

Today, it’s time for more world-class diving or snorkeling – the kind that few others have experienced. Jardines de la Reina is a 150-mile mangrove and coral island chain forming the third largest barrier reef in the world. Guests can snorkel or dive in a marine park bursting with vivid corals and exotic fish.

Spend another day in this fascinating city and visit Papa Hemingway’s favorite drinking haunts of El Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio. Take a short drive out of town and you can visit a cigar factory, where the manager reads the day’s newspapers to his workers as they roll cigars – a beautiful tradition.

DAY 7 | SANTIAGO DE CUBA

DAY 3 | RURAL CUBA

Return to city life with the bustle of Santiago de Cuba, which is known for its Afro Cuban influences and colonial architecture. A fleet of classic cars will provide a memorable drive to the airport. Reluctantly make your way back to the modern world, with glorious memories – and maybe a few Cuban cigars, too.

Head west from Havana to discover the tobacco plantations of the Viñales valley and the pine forest covered mountains of the Sierra de los Órganos. It’s a beautiful, slow-paced corner of rural Cuba, a wonderful contrast to Havana.

DAY 4 | MARIA LA GORDA The yacht will cruise onwards to the beautiful María la Gorda and anchor in the crystal-clear waters where the coral heads are just off the bow. This is the place for guests to jump in the water and enjoy fantastic snorkeling, or scuba divers can visit Lost Paradise – a vibrant wall dive with a variety of swim-throughs and caves.

DAY 5 | CAYO LARGO Continuing east, you can enjoy the tranquility of the small island of Cayo Largo, which is thought to have once been used as a base for the real pirates of the Caribbean. With clear waters and pristine beaches, it is the perfect place to make the most of your yacht’s extensive collection of water toys. Enjoy dinner on board, likely you’ll be the only yacht in the harbor.

Ajaccio is Corsica’s main city and is situated halfway up the island’s rugged west coast. Although there is thought to have been a settlement here since Roman times, it is Ajaccio’s more recent history that interests most. It was here that Napoléon Bonaparte was born in 1769.

The Aga Khan fell in love with its rugged charm and white beaches and had the idea to tame a patch of the coast by creating the purpose-built resort of Porto Cervo. To this day, this town and the nearby bay of Cala di Volpe are some of the most stylish spots in the Med.

DAY 2 | PROPIANO

DAY 8 | OLBIA

There are some nice beaches in the area, including Portigliolo, to the south of Propriano. A 30-minute transfer inland will take you to beautiful Sartène, a completely unspoiled medieval town that clings to the side of a hill.

On your last day on your yacht, head to Olbia for disembarkation at noon, stopping on the way for a last swim.

DAY 3 | BONIFACIO Once ashore, enjoy a leisurely coffee in one of the harbor-side cafes before starting the steep walk up to the old town. As you climb, you will be rewarded by stunning views of the coastline.

DAY 4 | CAVALLO This is the only inhabited island amongst the Lavezzi Archipelago, and only a mile and a quarter in length. The first settlers on the island were Romans. They extracted granite from Cavallo to use for both decorative and construction purposes; in some spots on the island, the remains of the Roman quarries are still visible.

DAY 5 | LA MADDALENA La Maddalena islands are just north of chic Porto Cervo and are almost Caribbean in their vibe. The cleanest and clearest waters surround this green archipelago, made up of seven larger islands and many more islets.

DAY 3 | LA SPEZZIA Before heading for the islands, soak up the color and culture of Tuscany – the birthplace of today’s Italian language. Head ashore to visit the Tuscan hills and the charming village of Lucca. It is the only town in Italy entirely surrounded by 16th-century ramparts, enclosing antique markets and great dining spots.

DAY 8 | PALERMO Cruise overnight back to Palermo, so you can arrive and disembark later the next day.

Take a northward detour to Ustica, a wild island surrounded by amazing waters. It’s known as the Black Pearl of the Mediterranean and is actually a burned-out underwater volcano, with only four square miles protruding above the surface.

DAY 4 | MOZIA Next, cruise southward and on to the island of Mozia, off the far western side of Sicily. Set in the Stagnone Nature Reserve lagoon between Trapani and Marsala, this little island looks unassuming, but its history stretches back more than 2,700 years to when the Phoenicians built a trade outpost and town.

DAY 5 | FAVIGNANA Sail west to the wild Aegadian archipelago. The trio of islands – Favignana, Levanzo, and Marettimo – are each beguiling in their own way. On Favignana, take the tender and tuck into Grotta Azzurra (named for the color of the water), Grotta dei Sospiri (the grotto of sighs), and Grotta degli Innamorati (lovers’ grotto) – so named because of the two identical rocks that stand side by side against the back wall.

Sail on to Ekincik for a Dalyan River tour. See ruins of the ancient city of Caunos and enjoy a beautiful view of the Lycian tombs carved into the cliff face. Return to the yacht and spend the last night of your charter at anchor under the stars.

DAY 2 | KNIDOS

DAY 8 | GOCEK

Time for a little culture! Head to the impressive ruins of the ancient city of Knidos, situated on the western tip of the Datca Peninsula. After a walk around the site, it’s time to return to the peace and quiet of your yacht and enjoy lunch prepared by the chef.

Have a leisurely breakfast and relax on the sundeck as the yacht cruises to Gocek. Admire the beautiful coastline and take a few last photographs of your holiday before disembarking the yacht for your onward journey.

DAY 3 | DATCA If you happen to be in Datca on a Saturday, the local market is well worth a visit. If not, head to nearby Old Datca, a town deserted by its last inhabitants in the 1980s, becoming a ghost town – which has now been partially restored by Istanbul’s “in crowd” who flock to their summer homes here.

DAY 4 | SYMI Sail on out of Turkey and into Greece – with the first stop at the beautiful island of Symi. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with a view of brightly colored houses lining the main port. If you’re feeling energetic, walk up the many steps to the Chora to be rewarded with a wonderful view.

DAY 5 | RHODES Once home to one of the seven wonders of the world, the Colossus of Rhodes stood guarding the entrance to the port at Mandraki. Enjoy a walk ashore to view the interesting architecture, which is a blend of Italian, art deco, and the East due to the Italianoccupation of the island in the early and mid 1900s.

DAY 6 | MARMARIS Drop anchor in the tree-lined bay of Marmaris after a long afternoon of watersports before heading ashore for a spot of shopping at the bazaar and a drink along the waterfront.

DAY 7 | MALE

Touch down at one of the most visually pleasing airports you’ve ever seen as you arrive at the Maldive capital of Male. A massage can be prebooked for you at the upscale spa in the One&Only Reethi Rah resort.

On arrival at Male, take a walk around the town to pick up any last-minute gifts to take home as you make your way towards the airport.

DAY 2 | HEMBADHU The islet of Hembadhu has superb dive and snorkeling sites, with more than 600 species of exotic fish and even a shipwreck on a reef that’s easily accessible for everyone to explore.

DAY 3 | HUVAFEN Ocean as far as you can see. Enjoy meditation by the water, which quiets the mind. Other activites include shipwreck diving, night snorkeling, or simply reading a book. Let the chef serve you on a sandbank beneath the stars.

DAY 4 | MAADHOO FINOLHU Among the locals, this resort is known as Maadhoo. Many years back, it was a sandbank named Maadhoo Finolhu. The plantation of trees converted it to an island, and now it is a resort with an additional island just next to it.

DAY 5 | MAKUNUFUSH Cruise over to South Male Atoll and explore Makunufushi, where you can choose between a dive on Kandooma Channel or snorkeling along a quiet reef nearby. Dine on deck under a gazillion stars with a gentle trade wind blowing.

DAY 6 | EMBOODHU FINOLHU Located in the heart of one of the largest lagoons in the Maldives archipelago, this spot used to be called the “Island of Three Coconuts” and was completely deserted. The island is small and very cozy; its length is not more than a kilometer and its width is only thirty meters. It is densely covered with lush tropical greenery, which perfectly sets off the pearl-white line of beaches and the bright turquoise of the Indian Ocean.

FAM, PENEMU & THE YEBEN ISLANDS MISOOF & TOMOLOL CAVE SORONG

DAY 1 | SORONG, WEST PAPUA

DAY 6 & 7 | MISOOF AND TOMOLOL CAVE

Arrive in Sorong, where your yacht and crew will be waiting to welcome you on board. Set sail for the Raja Ampat archipelago. Depending on the winds and the tides, spend the afternoon snorkeling, try a dive with an experienced PADI instructor, or kayak, water ski, or fish from the tenders. You can also visit a village or relax on a pristine white-sand beach.

Misool is one of the southern islands and it’s become a mecca for divers worldwide. Dip your paddle into yet another “secret bay” rimmed with steep rainforest walls and listen to the echoing birdsong at dawn. Tread lightly over turtle tracks on the powdery white beaches of Misool and journey though the ethereal Gua Sacral ancestral caves of Tomolol, the former burial site of the indigenous Papuans. It is a fitting farewell to the archipelago.

DAY 2 | DAMPIER STRAIT The strait has strong currents carrying planktonic feasts that attract hundreds of manta rays at certain times of the year in the area near Arborek island. Spend the morning diving down to the shallow sandy bottom and wait for the giant mantas to pass overhead, or swim with these gentle giants at the surface.

DAY 8 | SORONG Bid farewell to the crew and your yacht in Sorong, and then fly to Denpasar. You may end your trip here, or alternatively opt to extend your trip by visiting Bali. The rest of Indonesia is bound to feel hectic, though, after the glorious solitude of Raja Ampat.

DAY 3 & 4 | WAYAG ARCHIPELAGO Cruise by tender or kayak silently through the Wayag lagoon and its magical maze of limestone karst “gumdrop” islands adorned with pitcher plants and wild orchids. Climb Mount Pindito for breathtaking sunrise views over the island and beyond. Back at sea level, explore the islands by paddle board, or go for a dive to see the masses of multicolored fish and corals below the surface. The area is so beautiful, it is worth spending at least two days here to make the most of it.

DAY 5 | FAM, PENEMU, AND THE YEBEN ISLANDS Your yacht will arrive at these smaller, pretty islands. Paddle through the uninhabited islets and turquoise waters surrounding Pulau Fam. Stroll on foot or kayak the perfect white sandy circle of tiny Pulau Yeben. Overnight, sail to the southern realms of the Raja Ampat archipelago.

DAY 1 | PORT DENARAU TO NUKU-I-MANA SAND CAY Meet your yacht at Port Denarau Marina, only 20 minutes from Nadi InternationalAirport. Perhaps take some time to explore the Denarau area – the marina is adjacent to an internationally acclaimed golf course, restaurants, and a shopping center.

DAY 7 | WAYA ISLAND Travel up the western side of this dramatic, mountainous island and anchor off the pristine, uninhabited beach at Nacilau Point – it’s an ideal spot for a beach picnic. A comfortable anchorage can also be found in Nalauwaki Bay.

DAY 2 | MONURIKI ISLAND

DAY 8 | VOMO ISLAND RESORT

If Monuriki looks familiar, it might be because it’s where Tom Hanks was marooned in Castaway. It has epic isolated and private beaches. You can enjoy snorkeling the reefs on the western end or hike up to the clifftop for staggering views.

Stop off at the spectacular private islands of Vomo on the way back. Dine ashore and maybe visit the hip spa. It’s a great last stop at the end of your trip before you cruise back to Port Denarau Marina and head home.

DAY 3 | NAVADRA This uninhabited island is the pearl of the Mamanucas and a great place to enjoy some serenity. The island is split into two, with a beautiful reef and sandbar linking them. Explore the beaches and snorkel in the crystal clear water.

DAY 4 | NAVITI ISLAND May to October is manta ray season, when the graceful creatures can be seen on the island’s southern end at one of their favored feeding grounds. Snorkel or dive with these huge, docile creatures, or take a hike ashore through the forest and along the coastlines.

DAY 5 | BLUE LAGOON Blue Lagoon is the iconic location where the Brooke Shields movie was filmed. From here, cruise to Sawa-I-Lau, where you can swim through the island’s huge chandelier cave formations. Take a guide to show where to duck-dive into another huge hidden cavern.

DAY 6 | YASAWA ISLAND Cruise to the top of Yasawa and anchor in YasawaI-Rara Bay. This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Fiji, with six miles of pristine sand and lush green headlands.
