Transforming the Keperra quarry
After almost 60 years, the Keperra quarry site will transform from an operating quarry to a residential community with a range of homes, regenerated green landscape and private community amenity. We feel privileged to be developing a new piece of Keperra, bringing with us our wealth of experience in shaping new residential communities. The quarry site was previously owned by Brookfield Residential, and you may remember their plans to develop this site into a masterplanned development with 700 homes. The team at Frasers Property have been working
hard to create a new plan that will not only provide a proud community for future residents, but one that will also complement the surrounding Keperra area. To achieve this goal, we have reduced the total number of homes to approximately 550 and are working with a select group of expert consultants and designers to transform the quarry into a thriving residential community. This new plan will include the regeneration of the landscape to a greener more natural environment, provision of private recreation facilities, and conservation land that, in time, will form part of the Keperra Bushland Reserve.
Proposed Masterplan The unique nature of the Keperra site demands an equally unique masterplan. One that not only draws inspiration from the dramatic site attributes and how future residents will live, work and play in the spaces we create, but also complements the existing broader community of Keperra. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes with a select group of architects and landscape architects on a plan to transform the existing harsh environment through landscape rehabilitation, with over 45% of the community transforming to green space. At the heart of the proposed masterplan will be the new recreational facilities. An exclusive place for residents to
meet, relax and enjoy each other’s company. This communal space will provide a range of amenities – from generous grassed spaces, to a residents lap pool, gymnasium and a number of indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Ultimately the community will include approximately 550 new homes, being a mix of detached houses and terrace homes with a maximum height of three levels. It’s difficult to imagine this transformation from simply passing the site, however once complete, the homes will sit over a series of level building pads that step up the quarry, reaching an elevation of more than 150m above sea level, affording spectacular views across the surrounding mountain ranges.
This plan is an artist impression, is not to scale and should be used as a guide only. The features depicted may be subject to statutory approvals, delivery by third parties and/or change due to unforeseen building constraints. Changes may be made during the development process. Purchasers must rely on their own enquiries and the contract for sale.
A plan to enhance liveability Over 45% of the overall site area will be green space, with a dedicated 14ha conservation area.
A combination of residential types including land and terrace homes, providing a range of choice and affordability options.
Over 100,000 new trees and plants to renature the degraded quarry.
Enhancement and activation of the Samford Road frontage to the site
Targeting a 6 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
The industrial quarry use will be progressively reduced and completed over the life of the development.
