LIVING IN THE SKY

SKY IS THE LIMIT SKY AT ONE CENTRAL PARK. WHERE UPTOWN MEETS THE NEW DOWNTOWN.
SYDNEY’S MILD CLIMATE, UNIQUE HARBOURSIDE LOCATION AND FREE SPIRIT HAVE ALWAYS MEANT IT’S BEEN ONE OF THE MOST DESIRABLE PLACES TO LIVE.
And now, with Central Park’s exclusive collection of penthouses floating high above the heart of the city, it’s about to become one of the most envied. Central Park, in Sydney’s new downtown, not only involves the regeneration of the city’s creative and intellectual hub, but offers a striking counterpoint to the urban environment. Expansive parklands and a vibrant village full of galleries, eateries and boutiques, combine with a striking aesthetic to create the most exciting precinct Sydney has seen since Bennelong Point. One Central Park is the sublimely innovative pair of towers at the heart of Central Park. Certain to be recognised as an exhilarating addition to Sydney’s skyline, Jean Nouvel’s verdant tower reaches for the stars, while anchored in a site rich with culture and history. At its pinnacle is Sky, Central Park’s most exclusive collection of penthouse and sub-penthouse residences. As would be expected of France’s greatest living architect, these residences offer superior luxury, innovation and theatricality, underscored by a unique organic ethos. Residents enter via a private lobby and enjoy exclusive access to an expansive, cantilevered Sky Garden with plunge pool and alfresco dining room, suspended 29 floors above landscaped parklands. A living Eden, the entire façade is veiled in plant-life, creating the world’s tallest vertical garden. Outside each penthouse, native and exotic plants frame sweeping 360-degree views, creating the impression of floating glasshouses in the sky. Central Park offers sophisticated urban living in the world’s most beautiful harbour city. With its exceptional architecture and extensive green space, One Central Park is destined to become one of Sydney’s most desirable addresses. A penthouse apartment in Sky is certain to be one of the world’s most appealing homes

THE BLURRING BETWEEN ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE,LIGHTING AND ART. ONE CENTRAL PARK IS BOUND TO BECOME NOT JUST A GLOBAL LANDMARK, BUT A MILESTONE FOR THIS COUNTRY AND A GIFT TO THE CITY. CONSIDERED ONE OF THE MODERN WORLD’S ARCHITECTURAL MASTERS, JEAN NOUVEL IS RENOWN FOR HIS BOLD ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENTS. Over the past 40 years, he has won almost every
architecture prize, including the Pritzker, and has created landscape-defining buildings on almost every continent. One Central Park is his first Australian masterpiece.
JEAN NOUVEL is a Pritzker Architecture
Prize-winning architect, who is creating his first Australian masterpiece, One Central Park, together with French botanical artist Patrick Blanc, lighting artist Yann Kersalé and collaborating architect PTW Architects

VEGETATION IS PART OF THE VOCABULARY OF ARCHITECTURE — Jean Nouvel
JEAN NOUVEL’S PROJECTS ARE A TESTAMENT TO THE HUMAN SPIRIT. HIS APPROACH EMBRACES A TRANS-DISCIPLINARY ETHOS – BRINGING TOGETHER TECHNOLOGY, LIGHTING DESIGN AND ENVIRONMENTAL ARTISTRY TO CREATE OUTSTANDING BUILDINGS OF WORLDWIDE SIGNIFICANCE AND MONUMENTAL SCALE.
A bold combination of landscape and architecture, One Central Park is Nouvel’s most daring residential work yet. And Sky is its crowning glory. Sky has as its core concept, the blurring between architecture and landscape, lighting and art. This approach is reflected in the collaboration and overlapping of design disciplines. Working with PTW Architects, Jean Nouvel has invited some of the design world’s most exciting minds to work with him to redefine luxury living: French botanical artist, Patrick Blanc, international lighting artist, Yann Kersalé and collaborating interior architect, Koichi Takada. The result is Sky at One Central Park – a suite of penthouse and sub-penthouse apartments like no other.
Nouvel lives by the dictum that vegetation is part of the vocabulary of architecture. Sky at One Central Park manifests his philosophy with living walls that bring the park into every corner of the building. The façade will be covered in plants and vines in a breathtaking dialogue of art and architecture. The result is a living, breathing organism that proves that being surrounded by nature, even in the sky, makes us feel more alive. Hydroponics and a heliostat are just two of the defining features that are sure to establish the tower as an architectural triumph. The heliostat, a giant cantilevered platform jutting out from the 29th floor, adds a dramatic dimension to the building’s silhouette and defines the Sky residences above it. The hovering heliostat hosts sun-reflecting shields on its underside, enabling natural sunlight to be bounced in to the atrium below. After dark, the heliostat transforms into a light installation. Described by Ateliers Jean Nouvel as “a chandelier for the city”, it theatrically illuminates the two towers of One Central Park, bringing the building to life after dark.
Suspended over expansive parklands, the cantilever provides the platform for the Sky Garden ¬– the largest-spanned cantilevered structure built in a residential context in Australia. With its expansive harbour views and magnificent amenities, the Sky Garden will be one of the most desired entertainment spaces in the city, yet it’s for Sky residents and their guests alone to enjoy. Sky at One Central Park offers immense luxury high above the heart of the city. The building itself is worthy of accolades, yet it is the experience of living in its uppermost levels that offer a select few the greatest reward

LIKE A GREAT GARDEN IN THE SKY ABOVE The private Sky Garden at SKY
TERRACED PLATEAUS RISE UP THE SIDE OF ONE CENTRAL PARK AS THOUGH THE PARK IS CLIMBING INTO THE SKY, AND CULMINATE IN THE SKY GARDEN – A 200 SQUARE METRE CANTILEVERED TERRACE EXTENDING FROM THE 29TH LEVEL.
Facing West, the Sky Garden is surely one of the world’s highest floating gardens – a private playground for the exclusive use of Sky’s residents and their guests. Arrive at the Sky Garden by traversing a bridge encased in transparent red glass, giving this first glimpse of the panoramic vista a delightfully rose tint – a witty and theatrical moment conceived by Ateliers Jean Nouvel. The Sky Garden interweaves magical vistas with the natural world. The scale and character of the Sky Garden is defined by the steel trusses which bisect the terrace at dramatic angles – expressing the monumental feat of engineering involved in supporting this extraordinary cantilever.
In contrast, a delicate screen of vines will climb the six metre span from the terrace to the partial rooftop above, while a deep bed with three fullsized trees is lushly planted along the Sky Garden’s Western edge. Glass screens supported by aluminium fins wrap the Sky Garden, providing protection from wind while welcoming the panoramic views. At night, the stone paved terrace is subtly lit with a series of bollards located within the planter beds, with discrete uplights illuminating the trees. A stonelined plunge pool, with spa jets, faces North. Facing West, a row of curvaceous sculptural timber forms provides mobile seating, recessed between stone benches. Naturally, an outdoor kitchen, sleekly finished in stainless steel, provides for alfresco dining. Day or night, whether you gather friends together for a spectacular dinner or simply retreat to the Sky Garden for a moment of quiet reflection, the sky’s the limit

evokes the sky, taking residents direct to the 29th level and beyond. The ceiling undulates, dips and curves above the Concierge desk and lift well, highlighted in timber. A lush stand of bamboo brings the natural world inside – a natural extension of Ateliers Jean Nouvel’s overarching organic ethos for One Central Park. Bamboo is the defining material used in Sky’s private foyer, chosen for its unimpeachable green credentials, fine grain and naturally beautiful finish. Bronze details introduce warmth and robust integrity to the space. CONCIERGE A dedicated Concierge is on call to assist
every Sky resident’s needs. FITNESS CENTRE Sky’s residents enjoy access to
Central Park’s fitness and recreation amenities, located within One Central Park, with gymnasium membership included within strata levies. POOL TERRACE Between the East and West towers
of One Central Park, the Pool Terrace is an oasis designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel to suggest the natural pools, rocky outcroppings and white sand of Sydney’s coastline. White granite paving continues seamlessly into the pool itself, with clusters of stone and grass providing informal seating and zones for relaxation, recreation or sun worshipping, as your heart desires

A SOFT BREEZE With work spanning Australia, Japan, Europe and the Middle East, Takada’s most recent Sydney projects include CAVE and TREE restaurants and THE INTERIOR DESIGN OF ONE CENTRAL PARK EAST BY JEAN NOUVEL.
SKY AT ONE CENTRAL PARK FLOATS HIGH ABOVE THE CITY WITH SPECTACULAR VIEWS AND AN ORGANIC ETHOS THAT EXTENDS FROM THE HANGING GARDENS THAT FRAME THE VIEW TO THE NATURAL TEXTURES FOUND IN EVERY DETAIL.
Koichi Takada has crafted Sky’s interiors, layering colour and texture onto Jean Nouvel’s inspired architecture. With past projects spanning Australia, Japan, Europe and the Middle East, Koichi Takada brings a refined Japanese sensibility to Sky’s interiors. His innate understanding of texture, light and human scale gives the elegantly proportioned penthouse and sub-penthouse apartments an ethereal quality, complementing the dynamism of the exterior architecture.
Natural light streams in through the veil of greenery into each penthouse. While both natural and artificial light are mastered to allow residents to personalise the mood of their space. Three colour schemes capture the shifting light. Dawn reflects the soft light of early morning. Daylight embraces a bright palette of saturated natural light. Twilight is moodier, evoking warm, rich and romantic interiors. Timber veneer or high gloss polyurethane finishes customise each home and define the colour schemes. Superbly crafted, the penthouses offer an intimate retreat from urban life, yet are connected to Chippendale Green at the heart of Central Park via the vertical gardens stretching up from the park over the skin of the building and into the apartments
Interiors are sculpted through the use of abundant natural light, expansive views and free-flowing spaces. Natural and sustainable materials such as stone, marble and timber support an organic ambience that flows from room to room. ABOVE A single level subpenthouse, finished in DAWN

ON E STOREY SKY AT ONE CENTRAL PARK IS A COLLECTION OF 38 REMARKABLE PENTHOUSE AND SUBPENTHOUSE RESIDENCES, POSITIONED ABOVE THE MONUMENTAL CANTILEVER WHICH DEFINES THE PROFILE OF ONE CENTRAL PARK.
SINGLE-LEVEL SUB-PENTHOUSES OFFER A VERSATILE RETREAT TO RELAX AND UNWIND FROM THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT.
Kitchens are conceived as works of art within these single-storey sub-penthouse residences. Linear kitchens integrate storage, appliances and benchtops within one line, with a sliding timber screen providing a delightful combination of concealment and theatricality to many – appearing as a softly glowing lantern when closed. Island kitchens feature a floating island benchtop and dining zone, with a monumental stone slab acting in counterpoint to the organic timbers used elsewhere. Timber screens are repeated where study spaces and media nooks appear, repeating the themes of continuity, permeability and privacy which defines these interiors
