Welcome to Issue One Something is always going on at The Grove so we are excited to share all these happenings with you through our own community newsletter that’s out now, and will be again at the start of every season.

In this very first issue read about what’s on. This includes Hunting for Teddy Bears to add some fun to your family’s hour of outdoor exercise.

There’s also our local Business Review with Little Growling Café’s mealsto-go getting the thumbs up in this edition.

And yes, you’ll be pleased to know, that being in lockdown has not stopped progress with works underway throughout this thriving community. Of course, everything we do at The Grove is with the greatest care and we have COVID-19 (coronavirus) precautions in place to help keep our staff, suppliers, home buyers and residents safe.

What’s on COVID-19 Update At Frasers Property Australia, the safety and well-being of our home buyers, residents and staff are always our top priorities. So we’ve made some sensible changes to how we work, with us taking every care to minimise risks in the weeks and months ahead.

Our sales centres at The Grove will remain open by appointment only on a one-on-one basis with sanitation, social distance and screening measures in place. Alternatively, remote meetings via phone and video call are easy to arrange and welcomed.

Our construction activity at The Grove continues as scheduled with additional hygiene, separation practices and screening procedures introduced to protect our staff and contractors on site. We plan to continue construction activities while it is safe to do so, following the guidance of health and government authorities at all times. If this should change, we will let you know.

As COVID-19 continues to impact people and companies globally, we are reminded of just how critical it is to support one another during these challenging times.

Park and Playground Access In light of recent restrictions to gatherings, to help slow the spread of COVID-19, Wyndham City Council have now placed signage at all play spaces, exercise equipment and BBQ areas within The Grove, announcing their temporary closure.

Council is in the process of erecting barricades around these areas to prevent their use during this time. Please note that the power to the BBQ in Banyan Way will also be disconnected as soon as possible.

As per government regulations, passive use of parks and open spaces for exercise is still encouraged, providing you maintain a safe distance (1.5m) from others and do not congregate in groups of more than two. The only exception being if you are members of the same household.

What’s on Bush Bus and Live Life Get Active In light of the situation currently unfolding, Live Life Get Active and Bush Bus playgroups at The Grove have been suspended until further notice but there are other ways you can join in the fun.

Follow Bush Bus Playgroups’ Facebook page for the latest changes to the program. Also to access their online resources for at-home education and play.

Participate in Live Life Get Active’s online training to help you stay fit and healthy. While the program is still being developed, register your details at livelifegetactive.com and our friends will let you know the moment this becomes available.

Stay connected Social distancing needn’t disconnect you from your loved ones, with virtual gatherings via Skype or FaceTime an easy way to keep the socialite in you alive and well.

With more free time, it can be tempting to spend endless hours following your favourite Netflix shows or scrolling through your social feeds. Just remember to frequently take breaks to rest your eyes and remain in touch with your surroundings.

If you live with family or friends, dust off those board games or bake something together. For those of you on your own, there has never been a better time to reacquaint yourself with a past hobby or discover a completely new one. Also being alone in lockdown doesn’t mean doing everything solo. Watch a favourite show in sync with a friend and chat over the phone. Or dine together via any of the many video conferencing options to feel like you are in the same room.

Just make sure that your day is a mix of screen time and real life to maintain a happier, healthier and more normal routine for however long we need to remain in isolation.

Hunt for Teddy Bears They may be peeking out through a window or sitting at a door, even lazing in the front garden. The overseas trend of placing teddy bears for little children to find is also happening here at The Grove.

Those neighbourhood strolls have taken on new meaning when there are teddy bears to spy along the way. So if you’re a local resident, even a business, display a teddy bear some place prominent and be sure to bring a smile to everyone who walks by.

Updates Revamped Sales Centre The Sales Centre’s landscape is getting a makeover.

For you and your family this will mean an extra inviting space with even more amenities to enhance the experience of visiting The Grove.

Water features and more Later this year the new look Little Growling Park will be reopened to the community.

Then you’ll be able to splash in the sculptural water area, explore the dry creek bed or run along the levelled lawn which extends all the way beyond the cricket pitch. The space will also include much more seating, with shade to the existing playground. So family and friends can gather, with protection from the sun, for endless hours of fun.

Bethany and Davis Rds Intersection The traffic signals at this intersection are close to completion.

The Department of Transport (VicRoads) will shortly be installing the last component to allow their operation.

We expect them to be operating late April early May.

Davis Creek Footbridge A new contractor is being sought to build the bridge foundation.

The contract to construct the foundation is being retendered. The bridge deck has already been built and will be installed as soon as the foundation work is completed. The need to retender these works has affected our estimated end date and we are working towards completion in the third quarter of this year.

Bethany Road Bridge The opening of the Bethany Road Bridge is now just weeks away.

The much anticipated bridge, scheduled to open early May, will give residents of The Grove easier access to Tarneit amenities. Now in its final stages, we are currently working with the council to ensure the bridge opens as quickly as possible and will even resort to temporary lighting if required.

Updates Hogans Road Bridge Construction of this will commence once the Bethany Road Bridge has been built and a number of watermain connections are completed.

Building of the Hogans Road Bridge is expected to start in July and will take 18 months. During these works, Hogans Road will be closed. However, commuters will still have access to the east via Bethany Road Bridge and Sayers Road.

Maintenance and Site Presentation We are proud of how our community is presented and to ensure we keep The Grove looking its best, we engage a contractor to undertake regular maintenance tasks including parks and public open space.

Rectification works have recently been carried out at The Grove’s established reserves and these parks are currently undergoing a review by the City of Wyndham before they are handed over to them for future maintenance.

Community Activity Centre

The Riverdale Community Centre, led by The City of Wyndham, is expected to be open to the public in the first quarter of 2021.

Our contractor is also responsible for the maintenance of street trees in some stages. These responsibilities are handed over to Council for their ongoing maintenance on a progressive basis as our two year maintenance requirement is met. If you are concerned about a tree in the development, feel free to contact Council or ourselves and we’ll determine who’s responsibility it is.

The new centre will be a fantastic community hub, bringing people together through events, a children’s play space, barbeque area, community amphitheatre, open green space and more. You can view the detailed plans at the City of Wyndham Civic Centre.
