I. Israel Needed a Leader
Scripture: “Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.” (Joshua 3:7)
Scripture: “On that day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel, and they stood in awe of him just as they had stood in awe of Moses, all the days of his life.” (Joshua 4:14)
Question: Where has God given you an Opportunity to Lead?
II. The Importance of Markers
Scripture: “When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ 7 then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord.” (Joshua 4:6-7)
Scripture: “For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up for us until we passed over…” (Joshua 4:23)
Scripture: “for His steadfast love endures forever!” (Psalm 136)
Question: Where are the Memorials set up in your Life?
III. The Message is for All the Earth
Scripture: “…so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.” (Joshua 4:24)
Scripture: “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
