In His Steps: Intentional Presence

Dr. Chris Montgomery | Aug. 11, 2024

(Hebrews 2:1) So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.

Are you ready to sing this song God wrote for you to sing?

God has called me to be intentionally present with my brothers and sisters in Christ.

(Hebrews 10:24-25) And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

(Leviticus 26:12) I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people.

(Ezekiel 37: 27) My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people period

(Revelation 21:3) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.

(Hebrews 10:24-25) And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

1. We are called to intentionally consider each other.

Do I want something from people or for people?

2. We are called to intentionally encourage each other.

3. We are called to intentionally celebrate with one another

(Psalm 95:1-7) Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

4 In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also.

5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

(Matthew 18:20) For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
