Palmz in the Platz Sunday Celebration Palmz in the Platz is coming up in just a few weeks! We invite you to our annual Palm Sunday Celebration on April 9th at Marktplatz (126 W. Main) in downtown Fredericksburg. We’ll have worship at 11 a.m. with our chancel choir and praise team leading the music, a free lunch, and an Easter egg hunt for all kids 5th grade and under. What’s Ahead LENTEN CLOTHING DRIVE March 1st– April 2nd, Boxes in the Fellowship Hall & Children’s Wing Contact: Beth Brady (lnbbrady@ctesc.net) Our annual pre-disaster Lenten clothing drive is in full swing! Our missions committee is working with other churches in the Hill Country District to provide gently used clothing and new socks and underwear to those who have been effected by natural disasters. Your spring cleaning will be a blessing to those in need! Drop your clothes off in one of the donation boxes located in the Fellowship Hall or Children’s Wing anytime between March 1st and April 2nd.
EASTER EGG HELP March 19th-April 2nd Our Children’s Director, Lisa Davis, needs your help preparing Easter eggs for the annual Easter egg hunt following worship at Palmz in the Platz! There will be baskets of plastic Easter eggs, scriptures, and goodies to stuff in the Fellowship Hall for the next three weeks. If you can spare a few minutes between your regular Sunday morning activities to help us stuff some eggs and bless some kiddos in our community, we would greatly appreciate it.
GOOD FRIDAY MUSICAL PRESENTATION Friday, April 14th at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary Contact: Don Doss (don@fredumc.org or 997-7679) The music ministry team of Fredericksburg UMC is working hard learning the music from “The Seven Last Words of Christ,” a musical written by Theodore Dubois and first performed in 1867. It has since been revered as a classical standard in the observance of the Passion of our Lord. Our Chancel Choir and orchestra, under the direction of our director of music ministries, Don Doss, will present “The Seven Last Words of Christ” at a Good Friday service on April 14th at 7 p.m. To learn more about the musical or the presentation, contact Don. Noteworthy News.. -The March/April edition of the Thread is here! You can check it out right here on Issuu. -Fredericksburg Music Club welcomes pianist Doug Montgomery as their performer today. His concert begins at 3 p.m. this afternoon in our sanctuary, and there is no charge for admission. -The Belize Mission Team is selling colored geraniums throughout the month of March. You can get a plant for $10 in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings, or get in touch with Joel at joel@fredumc.org. -Pastor Sid invites you to participate in 40 Days of Love– a spiritual adventure during lent. You can pick up a guide in the church office, or find it online at fredumc.org. -The Wounded Warriors at Nebo will be hosting a group of wounded warriors and their Chaplain from Fort Sam for a day of Spiritual Fitness on Friday March 24, 2017 at Enchanted Rock. A lunch will be provided at the pavilion on site. Any church member interested in helping serve lunch to these warriors please contact either Sharon Massey at 456-3697 or Susan Quindry at 997-9262 for more information. -FUMC is looking to host a Young Women’s Mini Retreat; and we need your help! We are looking for young women of all talents to help plan this event. The retreat will be a one day event with fellowship, worship, lunch and fun! MISSION OF MERCY COOKIES Thursday, March 23rd by 5 p.m. Contact: Tammy Amerson-Wilson (TAmerson-Wilson@mhm.org) Cookies are needed for the Texas Mission of Mercy, which is a free dental event that will service 500 clients in the area over a 2 day period. This will include 250 volunteers per day. The event will be held at First United Methodist Church in Kerrville under the assistance of the Wesley Nurses. Please drop off your cookies at the church by 5 p.m. this Thursday, March 23rd. If you have any questions about donating cookies or want to learn more about the event, contact our Wesley Nurse, Tammy.

Ongoing Ministries
Sundays at 10 a.m. We have six adult Sunday school classes available each Sunday morning. Choose Life meets in Room 6-8, Encouragers meets in Room 7-9, Inquirers meet in the Family Room. The Family meets in Room 11, Searchers meet in Room 10, and Thee Bible Class meets in Room 2. To learn more about each class, visit the Welcome Desk, or call the church office at 997-7679.
MUSIC MINISTRY Our vibrant music ministry is under the direction of Don Doss, who leads the Chancel
Choir and Contemporary Praise Team. Choir rehearses at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the Sanctuary, and Praise Team rehearses on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Our Praise Team leads contemporary worship at 9 a.m. on Sundays (sound check at 8:15), and our Chancel Choir leads the traditional service at 11:10. Wesleyan Hand Bell Choir that

TREE HOUSE KIDS’ CLUB Wednesdays after school beginning January 18th Contact: Lisa Davis (lisa@fredumc.org) Cost: None Kids k-5 are invited to Treehouse Kids’ club each week for a fun afternoon of discovering the Truth of God's word. That means we’re offering a whole afternoon of music instruction for kiddos in our community! BACK PORCH YOUTH MINISTRY Back Porch Night, Every Wednesday from 5:30-8 p.m., Back Porch Contact: Joel Griffin (joel@fredumc.org) Cost: None Middle school youth starts at 5:30 p.m., and high school youth starts at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the youth room (back porch).
