APPRECIATION GATHERING POSTPONED The appreciation gathering for the former Child Development Center originally scheduled for this afternoon after the late service has been postponed. This ministry served many families in our community. Many of you in our church have been a part of it, and your support has blessed many children. The CDC Board would like to recognize these efforts! We will announce the new date for this gathering soon.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM TRAINING Saturday, September 24th from 8 a.m.– 4:30 p.m., Fellowship Hall Contact: Judy Hutcherson (judybhutch@yahoo.com) Cost: $15 (includes lunch, t-shirt, nametag and background check) Fredericksburg UMC is hosting a United Methodist Committee on Relief "Early Response Team" training. Our Missions Committee is funding half the cost through a scholarship (refunded after registration). Early Response Teams (ERT) are specially trained teams that offer assistance soon after a disaster strikes. They generally do cleanup work and tasks required to stop further damage from being done, e.g. putting tarps on damaged roofs. They might do minor repairs that help make homes habitable, but they do not do extensive repairs or reconstruction. This training is required for anyone hoping to help soon in Louisiana. Noteworthy News.. -TODAY Hill Country Memorial Hospital is sponsoring free A1c screenings in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30-10:30 a.m. -The Fredericksburg Music Club will welcome pianist Fei-Fei Dong in concert today at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary. 747 BIBLE STUDY Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. Contact: Pastor Sid (sid@fredumc.org) Cost: None Pastor Sid is leading this 40-week bible study covering all 66 books of the Bible. This study will take a “from 35,000 feet” look at each book and how they are all connected. If you’ve never read the bible, read it a few times, or if you are a biblical scholar, you will be blessed by this study! ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL Sundays at 10 a.m. We have six adult Sunday school classes available each morning. Choose Life meets in Room 6-8, Encouragers meets in Room 7-9, Inquirers meet in the Family Room. The Family meets in Room 11, Searchers meet in Room 10, and Thee Bible Class meets in Room 2. To learn more about each class, visit the Welcome Desk, or call the church office at 997-7679.
MUSIC MINISTRY Our vibrant music ministry is under the direction of Don Doss, who leads the Chancel
Choir and Contemporary Praise Team. Choir rehearses at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the Sanctuary, and Praise Team rehearses at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Our Praise Team leads contemporary worship at 9 a.m. on Sundays (sound check at 8:15), and our Chancel Choir leads the traditional service at 11:10. Hand Bell Choir that rehearses at 6 p.m. on
