The Twisted Tragedy of Miss Natalie Stewart (Magic Most Foul) After a novel as atmospheric, intense and deliciously gothic/romantic as Darker Still, I wasn't sure how author Leanna Renee Hieber could pull off an effective sequel. Something about the collision of Dorian Grey, Jekyll and Hyde, Victorian romance and gothic overtones worked so well in Darker Still, painting a wonderful portrait of Victorian-era New York with tinges of the supernatural. As a fan of Hieber's adult novels, I was happy to see that her transition to YA worked so well, as the novel dealt with many issues that appeal to adults and wasn't solely stuck in the YA world. Thankfully, many of the wonderful elements of the first book made their way into the second, alongside a cross-
country trip, more Jonathon page-time and more unexpected glimpses into the supernatural a la classic Gothic novel style.
Bitter Blood (Morganville Vampires, Book 13) As you seen for the last book Morganville is changing and changing for the worse. Oliver seems to have some kind of mind control over Amelia and he is taking Morganville down. The vampires even are allowed one kill a year without penalty. The humans have to carry around cards with their blood types. Things are going down fast. And the Glass House Gang isn't fairing up too good either. Both the vamps and humans are trying to bring them down thanks to Eve and Michaels marriage. The story line was intense. The gangs life is more on the line then ever. Things are also getting complicated in the house with their new friendly ghost roommate. Oh gosh I want to go into the story so bad. Its hard reading a book when you don't know anyone else that has read it. There are things I want to talk about. Like can you believe "insert name" kissed "insert name" I so thought "insert name" was going to walk in. Then to top it off "insert name" full on sticks their tongue in "inserts name" mouth and causes all sorts of trouble. Not to mention who Captain Obvious turns out to be. Then the ending!! What is going to happen now. How is it going to be Morganville with this happening?
A Different Kind of Normal Lamb's newest novel tells the story of 17-year old Tate. Born to a strung-out and drug-addicted mother (Brooke), and adopted at birth by his 19-year old aunt (Jaden), Tate's life will be anything but easy. Likely due to his biological mother's drug abuse and lack of any prenatal attention, Tate is born with a very enlarged head and lopsided eyes which make him appear freakish to strangers. To his family - his Boss Mom (adopted mom, Jaden), his Nana Bird (grandmother), and his uncle and cousins - Tate is beautiful. He's brilliant and funny, and he teaches his family that love and laughter heal tears. When Tate begs to go out for the basketball team, Jaden's overprotective and hovering tendencies begin to smother her enthusiastic son. Can Jaden put aside her fears and allow Tate to behave like a normal kid? Can she step back and allow him to handle, in his own way, the teasing of strangers without pounding them to a pulp with her bare hands?
The Silvered One of the most fascinating aspects of this story was the progression of Mirian's talents. She has spent her entire life believing herself capable of only first level abilities, but finds that during intense, highly emotional situations, her magecraft is elevated. What she becomes capable of is astounding and, in an interesting twist, is also not without consequences. Another pleasant surprise during this story was Captain Reiter, the man tasked with capturing Mirian. It was a pleasure experiencing the story through his point of view and I enjoyed his character's transition. He was given more depth than I had expected and his role in the story was one that I didn't anticipate. He is also responsible for most of the insight we are given into the mad emperor's decisions and motivations.
Courting Cate I absolutely loved this book! Cate is a smart, caring woman, almost to extremes. As I read this, I identified with her in many ways, and became frustrated with some of the people surrounding her. I was humbled by her willingness to change for those she loved, and by her extreme patience with her situation. The reference to Shakespeare was so subtle, and yet funny. This is not a girl meets boy, lives happily ever after book....the twists and turns make for excellent, interesting reading. By the end of the book, I wanted more. Highly recommended!!

The Fangover This book is a tweek on the movie the Hangover. As all the members of the band try to retrace their steps. I liked how uptight Stella finally lets go and find love with the worthy Wyatt. Their romance was very sweet. At first, I was skeptical when I learned that there were two co-authors even if I do enjoy each of their writing. But the book flowed very smoothly and I found that I could stop reading! I wanted to find out what happened to each of the band members. As the authors effortlessly guided me through the story I was captivated by the ongoing and increasingly outrageous mishaps. This book also has another secondary romance about another band member that was equally entertaining and charming. What a riot! I hope these two authors write another book together.
Conjure (The Hoodoo Apprentice) Emma, Jack and Cooper all have a younger voice. I can't recall their ages, but I think they were 14 and Cooper is almost 16. I might be wrong, but they are on the younger scale rather then 17 like so many paranormal characters are. The younger voice worked fine but it made them a bit more immature. I think that as an adult this annoyed me a touch here and there but it wasn't ever anything big. Sometimes it felt like the same thing over and over and they weren't getting anywhere, but about the time I was thinking that something big happened and changes occurred the plot really took off. So I wouldn't say it became a big issue either.
The Twelve Clues of Christmas (A Royal Spyness Mystery) This ever-so-slightly hysterical Christmas mystery will leave the reader gobsmacked. I really had no idea what I would be getting into as this particular mystery didn't look like my cup of tea. When I started reading, I could hardly stop. It was amazingly witty, the characters charming, and the plot was extremely well put together. Lady Hawse-Gorzley's party brought the crazies out of the woodwork, adding even more interest to the plot. Of course the ones who were being knocked off were equally interesting and woven perfectly into the mystery. There were a lot of characters, but I had no problem sorting them out and keeping track of them. No one is going to need twelve good reasons to love this book because one will do ... it's perfect!
Nocturnal Scott Sigler is the best horror novelist writing today. His characters are believable without being predictable and his research is first rate. As a bit of a gun nut myself, nothing is more aggravating as when a well-meaning author messes up on issues of magazine capacity or stopping power. Sigler avoids this pitfall by taking the time to learn about the background elements of his story before he publishes. Utilizing short chapters, he draws you into worlds that are alien, yet disturbingly comfortable. While some may object to my headline reference to Stephen King, I would simply state that I've read dozens of King's books and lately I've felt consistently disappointed by crummy endings. Sigler's books always wrap up in a powerful, satisfying and plausible manner, leaving me happy to have read them. What struck me most about this book was the way my feelings towards the main characters evolved as I progressed through the story. I couldn't put this book down.
All Things New All Things New was not only a story about losing faith and feeling anger, but how to go about regaining that faith and turning that anger into joy. It is also a story of change - each woman in the story changes due to the circumstances they are faced with and it made me realize how much more positive I could be in my own life by making some changes. Some of us can remain deeply faithful during times of great adversity or when we feel that God just isn't listening to us, while others can remain steadfast in their faith no matter what. God is always listening to us, God always answers us but sometimes we're just so caught up in our troubles that we don't hear Him, or we do hear Him but pretend we don't because sometimes change is painful and its sometimes easier to stay in our comfort zone.

A Trail of Fire Diana Gabaldon gives us another peek into the world of Lord John Grey, and of Roger McKenzie's parents, in this four-story book. It whets one's appetite for the eighth book in the Outlander series, providing an interesting backstory (with a twist) on Jerry and Dolly McKenzie. Another 'must read' by Ms. Gabaldon!
Beautiful Disaster: Contemporary Women Let me start by saying, I am not a huge fan of Romance books. In the case of Beautiful Disaster I am more than willing to make an exception. This book captured my interest from page one and held it throughout the entire book. More than just a romance book, Laura Spinella's debut novel contains an intriguing back story that grabbed the mystery/thriller loving portion of my brain and left me chewing on several theories as the story progressed. While this part of the story was by no means the main event, nor really even entirely fleshed out, it kept me reading through the more formulaic romance aspects of the book. And even that portion of the book was above average. Rather than being one dimensional, Spinella's characters were flawed, which only added to their allure.
Body of Lies Deirdre Savoy's book Body of Lies combined all these wonderful elements and more! I was knocked off my butt, totally engrossed in the suspenseful romance story of Clinical Psychologist, Alexander Waters and her trail to find out if a past patient was the real Amazon serial killer in New York. Past love, Zach Stone was dead set on believing the patient was the killer and wanted to convince Alex was wrong about her patient and also wrong about thinking there wasn't still something between them.
Bought for the Billionaire I was intrigued with this story, A gorgeous innocent woman bought for a billionaire. I loved this short story because its filled with both lust and mystery. It definitely reminds me to read all of the fine lines before signing any contract. I was disappointed with where this story leaves off( a cliff hanger in erotic?). Left me wanting another book sadly there doesn't seem to be a second at this time. Hopefully the Author will read my review and get cracking! Don't leave me hanging! As said in the description of this book it contains anal training.
Bound to Night (Sisters of the Moon) Tasha was 13 years old and hiding in a forest, waiting for her father, when she is attacked by the largest wolf she had ever seen. He finds out that not only is she a telepath but also a werewolf, a fact she denies as she has never changed even though the people at the facility has been trying to make her do so. They develop a bond and when he hears her being tortured he orders his men to raid the facility and he rescues her and takes her to meet Sebastian, the head of the local werewolf pack.

Contagious With Contagious, Sigler has tapped back into that /vast/ and detailed imagination best manifest in his The Rookie universe and capped it with by far the best interpersonal drama he's written. Contagious bridges the private horror of Sigler's previous novel Infected with enough subtle hooks to cut anyone up on the story. It delivers a relentless, constantly accelerating tale that reaches the sublimely horrible in its final act. No spoilers here, but I've not felt as electrified by, and connected to, the grand action in any recent movie short of The Dark Knight. Sigler is a rising star, and looks to have finally reached the main stage with Contagious. My highest recommendation.
Dark World: Into the Shadows with the Lead Investigator of The Ghost Adventures Crew Ghost Adventure fans will love this fascinating look inside the world of Zak Bagans. Written in a casual style that's enjoyable to read Dark World is a surprisingly candid account of Zak's paranormal experiences both on and off camera, spiced with fun trivia, personal photos, ghost-hunting tips, and philosophical musings. A definite must-have for his fans or anyone else who's ever been curious what makes this guy tick.
Deadly Race
Ellie had me laughing from the get-go, because there were no governors on her thoughts. She talks incessantly when nervous, and the author did a great job of showing the progression as Ellie became comfortable around Slade and she settled down. Ellie remains upbeat and instills some dry humor under some pretty rough circumstances, especially for a girly-girl city dweller. Excerpt: "Under the circumstances, I'm fine. Of course, it can't be more than ten o'clock in the morning and I've already been strip-searched, held prisoner, shot at, and in a plane crash. Not to mention falling from a tree and nearly being crushed to death. I would have felt a little better if I'd had time this morning to put on some makeup and eaten a good breakfast. Otherwise, what could be wrong?" A humorous twinkle sparkled in his eyes as he lifted a hand and brushed her hair from her cheek.
Deadly Secrets, Loving Lies Deadly Secrets, Loving Lies delivers a thrill ride of action-paced suspense. Genie, an ex-government agent, just wanted to be left alone. But when guns are blazing at her private retreat, she can't ignore her family or her life any longer.
Diagnosis Death Anyone who loves medical mysteries will enjoy this book. I found this a quick and enjoyable read, Elena, the main character, evokes readers' empathy as she struggles with the death of her husband and the similar deaths that seem to follow her even after moving to a new town. The similarity of these deaths to her husbands, combined with the fact that she can't remember her own actions at the time of his death, raise suspicions. Is someone out to frame her or is she unconsciously committing mercy killings.

Drama: An Actor's Education This book is as close as most of us will ever come to having a complex, nuanced actor take you into his confidence and show you around behind his eyes. It is as if you are sitting down for a long, languid long-haul overseas flight and discover that your seatmate is John Lithgow you have hours to kill, the bar cart is open, and he doesn't mind talking. What an unforgettable flight that would be, and what a book this is.
Encrypted (The Robin Hook Hacker series) Encrypted by Carolyn McCray is a fast paced, hair-raising thriller with a cast of fascinating characters. The heroine, Ronnie, has Laura Croft's moves, Sherlock Holmes' intellect and Indiana Jones' charm.
Eve I really liked the premise for this book. It seems very real that a sudden tragedy could take so many lives so quickly that the government would break down. It also seems very real that in the crisis, people would trust someone who took too much power in the name of survive and with the promise of it only lasting for a short time. I could totally see this happening. I could also see the rebellion taking hold as people saw the results of such power. I loved the set-up.
The whole book was a quick read, I finished it in a day. I quickly became interested in Eve and her world. She was poorly educated to real life even though she excelled in the academics taught at her "school". The things she knew didn't seem to help her survive once she found herself outside of the school. I really wanted to see more growth from her. Her decisions were poor at the beginning of the book and I hoped that would improve over the course of the book as she experienced living in the wild. Unfortunately, Eve didn't grow that way. As a matter of fact, she continually made bad choice to the point that I wanted to scream at her to stop. So much was done and lost in the name of protecting Eve. I hope in book two, she starts paying some of that back.
Exalted Let me start with the fact that the first three books in this series are amazing. This book is the forth and one of my favorites yet. I fell in love with this series from book one and still love it at the end of book four. The only bad thing I can say about it was the all good thing have to come to an end! Reading this book was like revisiting a group of old friends. They make you smile laugh and cry! I don't want to mess the book up for anyone who hasn't had a chance to read it yet by giving too much away but I will say it's a good book worth your time and money!
Force of Fire (The Kane Legacy) Ana Kane has been the victim of deception her whole life. When ignorance of her father's classified past lands her in danger, a secret mission is launched to secure her rescue. But when the Basque terrorists holding her threaten her life for the exchange of one deadly secret, will the Americans come through? Or is she truly as she suspects, a worthless Spanish-American pawn?

Falling for Rain The story in Falling for Rain is a simple but beautiful love story that draws in the reader once you start reading it. The authors have a knack of writing stories that keep you turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next. I bought their two other books, and The Sidewalk Artist and Ciao Bella by the authors are of the same ink. The plot is these stories is easy to follow and brings you on a pleasant and romantic journey. The words fly effortlessly off the pages and before you know it, you have had an enjoyable read. The authors Gina & Janice entice me to feel for the characters in the stories I want to find out how each story ends. I love the way the stories have happy endings even though some tough choices have to be made, such as in Ciao Bella.
Fatal Deception The devotion between Sam and Nick continues to grow stronger and the romance only gets more creative and steamier. It's downright swoon-worthy. The chemistry and banter that goes on between Sam and Nick is nothing less than genius. MF continues to develop the depth in her main characters, as well as in the secondary cast with new and fresh detailing. The family dynamics adds yet another level of reading enjoyment to this series. With each book readers are assured a well paced criminal plot with twists and turns that will keep you glued to your chair. Between the sizzling romance and the chilling suspense, I'm always a well-satisfied reader. "Fatal Deception" is exceptionally wellwritten with creativity, witty dialogue, and sizzling sensuality and once again delivers a complete package.
Fatal Exchange This is a book that took me completely by surprise. I thought I'd give it a shot based on the Amazon description and 5 star reviews, and it quickly became a page turner I couldn't put down. The plot is complex, sort of like a Forsyth or Ludlum, and the characters are gripping. It's a real novel. Can't wait to see what Blake does next.
Forever After I was please fly surprised by this book as it took me through a journey of how The character Leah discovers that she has a whole new sensual world opened up to her that she had no idea even existed before a successful, hot and dreamy banker walked into her life. I was captivated by this book and I could not put it down.

Full Disclosure I very highly recommend this book! Ms Henderson's writing is superb, as always. The characters are well developed and I fell head-over-heels in love with Paul Falcon! At times Ann was a little tough to really like as much because her character was so closed-off. I found myself liking her more and more as the story went along, though.
Glad Tidings The premise of Here Come's Trouble is that Maryanne and Nolan both write columns at competing Seattle newspapers. When Nolan begins to attack Maryanne in his newpaper articles for her debutante ways, she decides he has a point and makes drastic changes in her life shocking her publishing magnate father. Nolan is then upset that he caused problems for Maryanne and decides to try being nice to her. The battle of the sexes ensues.
Her Father, My Master: Enthralled Krystal Waverly is thrown headlong into the most intense, erotic relationship she's ever known in her young life. Mr. Hendricks - her former best friend's father - is her master, and he's everything a master should be: cruel at times, compassionate at others, and always fierce, and always dominating. And she's just agreed to dedicate a year of her life to him.
Her Father, My Master: Mentor This is pretty different for me and I winced a few times when I ran into the extremely erotic scenes. But I found myself wondering when and if they would be found out and what exactly would happen then. SO holding the reader's interest (at least in my case) wasn't hard at all. Brought up a lot of questions in my own mind...how would I handle something like this or how would I react if it were one of my loved ones making these choices. Interesting read and actually pretty well written.

These passionate romances will thrill you, seduce you, and warm your heart...

His Very Own Girl The thing that they actually have conflict about is their vision of the future. Lulu loves flying, and fears what her world will contract down to at the end of the war. Joe is very much a man of his era, and has trouble conceptualizing manliness without being very protective of women. He hates that the war has "forced" women to work, hates that they are in danger, hates that Lulu tells him over and over again that her work is more important to her than a potential relationship with him. She is having fun, but on her terms, her own methods of staying safe.
Light To Valhalla I want to first say I LOVE Ms. Blue's writing style. She has a knack for writing words that makes her readers fall in love. She also has a knack for writing sexy heroes that remain on your mind weeks after you've read their stories.

Birds of the World 1993 | ISBN-10: 1564582965 | PDF | 416 pages | 60 MB It is hard to imagine a raison d'etre for this book, for its pretentions to be a field guide, as bruited on the dust cover, are absurd and are surprising coming from the authors, two highly respected ornithologists. What we have instead are species accounts of 800 birds, nine percent of the world total. These very brief accounts include a few sentences of general commentary; very small sections on range and nesting; a range map, color photo, and drawing showing scale; and one or two other small illustrations. This good selection of the world's birds, shown in quality photographs, is fine as far as it goes, but it is too limited to serve as an indentification guide. The traveler needs regional guides, and there are already many good ones for almost all parts of the world. Fun for browsing but otherwise only marginally useful.

Big Ideas: Putting the Zest Into Creativity and Innovation at Work 2003 | ISBN: 0749438789 | 197 pages | PDF | 4 MB
Innovation, creativity and change are the lifeblood of business but unlocking the innovative ability of an organization can be a difficult process.A recent survey (Synectics, 2002) reveals a gap between what leading corporations say about the importance of innovation and what they actually do about it. However, this survey finds that there is a consistent connection between a company’s commitment to innovation and its success in the marketplace: * Sales increase in highly innovative companies was 10.8% vs. only 5.7% in least innovative * Profit increase in the most innovative companies was more than three times as great as in less innovative companies (51% vs. 14%) * Market share increase in the more innovative companies was more than twice the growth (59% vs. 27% increase) "Big Ideas" highlights pathways to creativity and shows how to establish conditions that lead to innovation and success. It is highly practical, and includes checklists, case studies and a "mind gym" questionnaire to establish the [ Italics]Innovation Quotient of an organization.

Taunton's Complete Illustrated Guide to Jigs & Fixtures 2006 | ISBN-10: 1561587702 | PDF | 265 pages | 13 MB This book, in the "Complete Illustrated Guide" format covers jigs and fixtures, a subject of perennial interest to woodworkers. Jigs are like clamps. As the saying goes, "You can never have enough of them." Jigs, simply put, are devices, sometimes shop-made but now often available commercially to enable woodworkers to do something more than once. For example, some jigs are fences that ensure straight cuts or templates capable of guiding tools to create a certain shape time after time. Woodworkers love jigs and fixtures for the same reason they are drawn to woodworking-designing them is about figuring out how to do something. All woodworkers are secretly engineers and inventors, and jig design and construction is a way to indulge that need. Some woodworkers love jig-making so much, they never build anything but. Simple or elaborate, jigs are an essential part of woodworking. This book, authored by prominent woodworking author, Sandor Nagyszalanczy, is organized like his successful 1994 book "Workshop Jigs and Fixtures," according to function. This approach allows woodworkers to either build the jig exactly as shown or modify it to suit a wide variety of purposes. (Another thing woodworkers like is having choices.)

Cooking: The Quintessential Art 2010 | ISBN-10: 0520265947 | PDF | 368 pages | 3 MB From its intriguing opening question--"How can we reasonably judge a meal?"--to its rewarding conclusion, this beautiful book picks up where Brillat-Savarin left off almost two centuries ago. HervĂŠ This, a cofounder (with the late physicist Nicholas Kurti) of the new approach to studying the scientific basis of cooking known as molecular gastronomy, investigates the question of culinary beauty in a series of playful, lively, and erudite dialogues. Considering the place of cuisine in Western culture, This explores an astonishing variety of topics and elaborates a revolutionary method for judging the art of cooking. Many of the ideas he introduces in this culinary romance are illustrated by dishes created by Pierre Gagnaire, whose engaging commentaries provide rare insights into the creative inspiration of one of the world's foremost chefs. The result is an enthralling, sophisticated, freewheeling dinner party of a book that also makes a powerful case for openness and change in the way we think about food.
