A Whisper Of Seduction This is a fast paced story that is cute to read. I liked the heroine and how she speaks her mind freely. The hero was okay too.

A Guile of Dragons (A Tournament of Shadows, Book 1) Yes, it employs many of the elements that we might quickly label a High Fantasy trope - dwarves, dragons, ancient terrors, and the name Merlin (or at least his son, Morlock). Its important to remember that it is not what elements a writer uses, but how they use them, that brings distinction. Enge does not treat these elements lightly - the history and culture of the dwarves alone are an integral part of this story, hinting at a depth we never see a bottom to. The shortness of the work (@300 pages) is belied by the depth and fullness of the characters that populate it. These are thick characters, populating the pages not because they fill a need but because it is their story to tell.

Agaat A paralyzed Afrikaner woman, Milla, stricken with ALS that leaves her not only mute, but entirely dependent on her Black caretaker, Agaat. She reminisces about her life, her abusive marriage, and the son she loves. In the hands of a lesser writer Marlene van Niekerk's second novel, "Agaat." would surely have descended into saccharine melodrama. Instead, with poetic prose and a perfectly pitched narrative voice, Niekerk weaves a complex intimacy between these two women, whose lives have been inseparably bound by knots so intricate they cannot even be undone by death. Agaat's attention, at times loving and others sadistic, speaks volumes, and it is in these scenes where "Agaat" most sings, enveloped in an achingly beautiful claustrophobia so finely rendered, I found myself catching my breath.

100 Cupboards 100 Cupboards I think is much, much better than Leepike Ridge, and I am an unabashed *fan* of Leepike. Leepike is a very good book, but I think 100 Cupboards surpasses it on a number of levels. There is an added complexity to the world of 100 Cupboards, a sense of Lewisian profundity here. 100 Cupboards too, I think, is more subtle than Leepike. The humor in the book, while still providing laugh-out-loud moments, is not nearly as pronounced is specific scenes. Rather, in 100 Cupboards, it seems the whole novel is written with a sly smirk (in a good way). Also, while both Leepike and 100 Cupboards begin with the narrator speaking to the reader, this tack feels much more British, with an almost C.S. Lewis-esque mastery behind it.

Dandelion Fire Loved 100 Cupboards but the sequel, Dandelion Fire, kept me up all night! The influence of Chesterton, Lewis, and Tolkien cannot be missed in his writing. Like all of Wilson's books, I find them most enjoyable read outloud, so go find someone to read to!

Alien Death Fleet The heros are very simple and in some ways card cut outs of the standard pulp hero's template the battles in some sense were outlandish in some cases whole plants getting blown away with no explination other than the mysterious fleet must have the ability to do so. A lot of things that are explained in other series are not done so in this begining book, BUT, Once I took it at a face value I did find it interesting with alot of potential.

Angel Evolution: Book One of the Evolution Trilogy An interesting take on the ol' "Angels vs. Demons" story. The book centers on Christopher, Gabriel, and Taylor. Taylor is a supposedly normal college girl but it soon becomes clear that she has a special power that attracts the attention of both the angels and the demons. Things become even more complicated when it's much less clear who is the right side to trust.

Demon Evolution: Book Two of the Evolution Trilogy Taylor's "evolution" has me intrigued, and I can't wait to see what exactly this means for her in the final book of this awesome trilogy! Gabriel's inner turmoil almost made me cry! :( His devotion not only to Taylor but also to his family made me fall even deeper in love with him, and I can't wait to see how he'll handle the whole David situation in the end.

Archangel Evolution: Book Three of the Evolution Trilogy Archangel Evolution had a perfect mix of action, humor and romance. In this segment, I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath and even giggling uncontrollably at times as Taylor and her closely-knit group of friends struggled to defeat their enemy and end the war between Good and Evil. Estes did a wonderful job tying up the loose ends and pulling the story together without rushing the ending. If I wasn't fully satisfied when the last page came around, it was simply because I wish it didn't have to end. Like I said before, I can only hope Estes will continue with this series and with the way things were left, there is definitely room for more to come.

Arena Some will say that the allegorical nature of this story is too obvious, but I thought the Christian nature of Callie's journey through the Arena was subtly yet powerfully done. As I said, you don't have to read the story in this allegorical way if you do not want to. I think you should, though, as it makes this novel something extraordinarily special. I won't go into the parallels between Callie's journey and the Christian's journey here, but the one greatly reinforces the other. As a Christian, I was deeply impressed by some of the insights embedded in Arena in this fantastical setting, Hancock helps you look at your own spiritual journey in entirely new and instructive ways, drawing connections that surprise, exhilarate, and inspire you. From this perspective, the whole journey seems so simple it is only man's nature, fears, and limitations that make the journey such a needlessly hard and difficult one. If you're looking for a work of Christian science fiction that really and truly works, Arena is the book you've been waiting for.

Babylon Rising If you enjoyed the Left Behind series you will definitely enjoy this one. It is about an archeology professor who tries to prove what the bible says is fact. The is a secret group that is out to kill the main character, because they don't want the people to know the bible is true.

Beautiful Malice I don't know where to begin to even try to describe this beautiful, sad haunting story that will consume you as you read it. This book left me speechless. It is the type of story that stays with you and rocks your world. That makes you look at things differently and appreciate all that you have.

It is real and raw and emotional. It captured me from the first page with the beautiful way it is written, almost poetic at times. It lives up to is title in every way imaginable.

Betwixt Nicole was a difficult character to like initially, she was self-absorbed, insensitive and unfeeling she treated herself and those around her with no respect at all and her sharp-tongue was plain nasty. Ms. Pearl wrote her in such a way that you actually feel sorry rather than remain disengaged from her which I thought was well done. Her families loss was the reason behind her behavior but her new lifestyle was causing her self-destruction, I think her having Dale help her was the best thing for her, he was good to her and didn't put up with her rubbish.

Bloodmoney: A Novel of Espionage The mystery to be solved is: Where is the leak that is getting agents killed? How do they know where and when these undercover operatives are going to be? This is a political thriller, a mystery that perhaps delves deeper into the seas of the espionage world than they would enjoy. Where Ignatius shines of course is in describing the actions and methods of the news media. Ignatius, has researched his subject thoroughly, even traveling into these dangerous regions. It is an interesting twist to get inside the head of someone who wishes to kill your countrymen but even more than that is the fact that the reader can picture and feel and know and empathize with all of the main characters. It is a well written novel that will pull you into its' world.

Broken Honour The book feels like we are knee deep in a war, and sinking faster and faster. The steady beat of Dolf's (a pivotal character, with out even knowing it!) drum carries the reader along at double time. The lines are drawn there is a miasma of death all around, but the book still manages to pull back the intensity when it needs to. Towards the end a great boxing match occurs, that is a break but a well worth it diversion. A minor characters unconscious plunge into chaos, that in my mind culminates with a horrifying moment that cements the Beastmens place in the Warhammer universe. Scene after scene the book becomes increasingly hard to tear away from, until the last few gripping pages.

Calamity The darkness of tone reminded me at times of Gillian Flynn's "Sharp Objects" or Scott Nicholson's "Disintegration", both of which have rankled some of those readers looking strictly for light, happy entertainment that leaves you with a smile as you finish that last page. Along those lines, "Calamity" is certainly not the most cheerful book you will ever read. It tackles serious subject matter, constantly throwing deadly wrinkles at our anti-heroes, with an underlying coating of the darkest humor.

Connie Cobbler: Toy Detective There are so many mini details like these that will make you literally laugh out loud. It's very cleverly written. The characters run the gamut from dolls to stuffed gorillas, poodles and bears, to things as unexpected as Lt. Rook (a chess piece). I think it probably isn't for the younger crowd with its mature themes, but I think middle grade and high schoolers will thoroughly enjoy it, as well as any adult with a sense of humor. Pure entertainment!

Crazy Love Marc Fairley came looking for his divorcee mother, Olivia, when he gets her email that she is on the verge of getting married to a local farmer in a small town. And to make matters worse she met her farmer fiance online through a Internet dating service. Sierra Kent is the Internet Matchmaking site's owner. She lived in the small town named Love, so what else would she do? She matched people to live happily after! By making them fall in love.

Crimes Against Magic 'Crimes Against Magic' is the first debut novel I have had the pleasure of being asked to review. It's author Steve McHugh has obviously spent a massive amount of time building the world of the story. The plot without spoilers, is about a magic user named Nathaniel Garret. An amnesiac thief for hire, whose past comes to catch up with him after a job goes bad.

Dancing with Eternity Regardless, although I was slightly disappointed in the lack of chapters focusing on disemboweling mimes, I am confident in giving this book my highest recommendation! If it doesn't cause your chest hair to burst into flames upon the first reading, I will personally suplex a hippie. In fact, I will most likely do so anyways!

Demon Inside While I enjoyed the darkness, the emotional roller coaster, the action (which there were lots of), and the hot sex with Greyson, Megan's demon lover, the over arching story did not feel like it moved but an inch. Sure we got to know Megan a bit better but that was about it. Part of the problem, I think, is that issues from the past were still unresolved and so it felt like the story was standing still. Also, while Megan and Greyson were enjoying each other sexually, I was looking to see how their relationship had emotionally advanced and it felt like it hadn't. Yet, I feel conflicted about making this last statement because perhaps that's exactly how Kane wanted us to feel. Greyson, being a demon, is suppose to be emotionally distant. This certainly made Megan confused about where their relationship is. But, while he didn't trip over his own feet declaring his love for her, Greyson's actions did speak of deeper emotions so hmmm...yup, I'm definitely conflicted.

Entangled, A Paranormal Anthology Eleven award-winning, bestselling authors band together to help raise money for breast cancer research. There is something for everyone in this paranormal Halloween anthology including a novella from New York Times bestselling author Allison Brennan. Ghosts, vampires, demons and more will delight you!

Evangelina A fatal incident at a medical facility sends U.S. government agents on the trail of Evangelina Scales-Jennifer's sister and an extraordinary figure with deadly intent. But not everything is as it seems.

Fenrir

A sequel to Wolfsangel doesn't disappoint. The action is fast-paced and up until the very end the reader is trying to guess which character has which role in rehearsal of Ragnarok. The attention to historical details that the author puts in the book is great and he really successfully translates the medieval world on the pages of the book. Especially fascinating is the characterization of the Fenrir and moral dilemmas he faces as he tries to fight the Wolf inside him. It makes a reader feel much more sympathy to the Wolf then in the first book where he is simply the beast. If you liked the unique mixture of Nordic mythology and historical fantasy in Wolfsangel you will love Fenrir.

Force of Nature (A Joe Pickett Novel) Soon afterward, there local men make an unsuccessful attempt on Nate's life. When the bodies of these men are found, in a quiet backwoods area, it stirs a local uproar. Nate had been a member of a specialized military unit and done some things that he'd rather forget. Unfortunately, the leader of that group now wants to make sure Nate doesn't disclose what he knows.

How Beauty Met the Beast Holy Moly! First off if you don't know I am a military wife, one of my worst fears is for my husband to be injured while deployed. That being said I at the same time love and hate Jax Garren she did such a phenomenal job in bringing Hauk's back story to life I ended up crying, a lot. It's a fascinating take on the classic Beauty and the Beast tale not only with the steampunk aspect but also having the "beast" character being injured in such a way makes the character so much more realistic. I absolutely loved this book, and I cannot wait to see what happens next between the star crossed lovers. Hopefully next time I will have a giant box of tissues by my side.

Kidnapped I loved this book - the first time around. But, would not have ordered it again if I had known that this was a reprint of a book that I had already read. I feel that this was wrong to not show anywhere that it was a reprint of another title until I received the book. I love Dee Henderson and was happy to see that she had written another book, little did I know that she had not written another book, the title was changed and it was reprinted. I do love Dee Henderson and hope she writes again!

Last Stand on Zombie Island So you think the imminent zombieclypse will be fun and games? Maybe if you're dealing with slow shamblers, mister, but not in the scenario envisioned in this rip roaring tale. With a well-explained and plausible sounding explanation for the undead and a lot of attention to detail, it becomes very obvious how completely outclassed survivors would be.

Leaving Atlanta

Leaving Atlanta, Tayari Jones wonderful debut novel, brings to life one of the most terrible periods in Atlanta's history, the time when a serial killer was snatching and murdering children at the rate of one a month. While much has been written and said about the hunt for the killer, his probable motives, the impact on the city's image, this book takes a completely different approach by taking us back to that time through the eyes of the children who lived through it. Their fear, their vulnerability and their absolute "kidness" even in the face of the horror all around them come through clearly in Jones' book. Without sensationalizing the story in any way, she makes you feel the children's fear of a new crossing guard, even if he is an emissary from the guardian angels, come south to protect them. Jones' has a gift for the dialogue of her youthful characters and never strikes a false note when they talk to each other or to the adults scrambling to protect them. A pleasure to read and a unique perspective on those terrible times that still haunt all of us who could not find a way to protect our children from a danger we will never understand.

Meeting Mr. Write The plusses: The plot was good and the chemistry between them was believable. The way their feelings for each other developed was also believable. The love scenes were hot, sexy and sensual, but they weren't over the top, nor did they overpower the story. The secondary characters were well written and added a richness to the story. The minuses: The story was poorly edited. There was some poor grammer but mostly there were a lot of errors that a good proof reading would have cleared up. There was also some slang that didn't flow with the story. Some of the dialogue sections also seemed a bit stilted. The amount of consumerism was also annoying. I began to believe that the author was sponsored by a number of companies.

Sirens

They meet in Manhattan after Jo's father sends her to live with her aunt and uncle's family. Turns out Danny is after something her brother left behind - something she probably has in her possession. Lou feels threatened by Jo, a young, smart, ambitious girl who is perfect to take her place as Danny's girlfriend. The conflict in the way they view events is highlighted by the way Janet Fox structures SIRENS. Lou and Jo tell alternating chapters, but Jo tells events as they happen and Lou is recounting events for the cops. At first I found this very distracting. But it works, because Lou is reflecting on the choices she made while Jo is growing up and becoming an independent woman. The technique does work much better in later chapters, where there's more overlap between the girls' narratives.

The 13th Target Such good friends that when he gets a phone call from a police detective telling him that Luguire has committed suicide, Rusty doesn't believe it. His belief is confirmed by Federal Reserve employee Amanda Church, who once worked with him in the Secret Service. Church has uncovered an extremely suspicious financial transaction initiated by Luguire that now seems to be setting Rusty up. When a bank president is murdered, Rusty does indeed skyrocket to the top of the suspect list.

The Harvest: A Novella New York Times bestselling author Vicki Pettersson brings a former superhero an elite Zodiac warrior back to the mortal world for a Thanksgiving reunion with her equally hated and beloved enemy, to do battle for the lives of her imperiled children.

The Old Man and the Wasteland Beyond the description all I really expected was something along the lines of The Road meets The old man and the sea. And it has elements of both. But it takes the idea of the Old man and the sea and truly makes it its own. It tells a tale of of hope in hopeless times. And the way it is written will draw you in. I'm staying vague because you should experience if for yourself instead of reading another review. Its an outstanding novel. Honestly the less you know the better. Its short and cheap you have nothing to lose in purchasing it. When I return home I will definitely be buying the paper back and telling everyone I know. This author needs more attention.

The Poison Diaries Previous to writing this YA historical, fantasy novel, Maryrose Wood's YA novels have been light and humorous with contemporary settings, so the dark tone and historical setting of this novel may surprise her fans. The first 40 pages of the book is almost entirely made up of the musings of the heroine about her lonely life, both as first-person narrative and entries in her journal. Jessamine longs to be of use to other people rather than hidden away from the world at the mercy of her disinterested father, and this is shown as well as told through the author's atmospheric and poetic prose.

The Ronin's Mistress The main story was Sano's investigation of the 47 and it dominated the book. There was not as much story development with Hirata as in past books but there were sufficient hints of future conflicts and tensions for the main characters. For those persons aware of the story myths surrounding the Lord Asano and the 47 Ronin the book includes several of those versions in Sano's investigation while reaching Rowland's own explanation. I prefer the Chushingura version of the story rather than the author's conclusion. I have been to Sengaku-ji and I have observed the reverence the people visiting there have for memory of the 47 Ronin and their final act of loyalty. People who enjoy Sano Ichiro will once again enjoy this latest book in the series.

The Stranger You Seek It is a great mystery/thriller set in Atlanta and developed around the characters of Lieutenant Aaron Rauser, homicide detective of the Atlanta Police Department and the flawed heroine - ex-FBI profiler, Keye Street, who is now a private detective, a process server and bail recovery agent. Although she is working with Rauser and the APD on a serial murder case, we are treated with some of her amusing episodes as a private detective. The plot is so tight it will keep you flipping the pages and all I can say about the ending is WOW. It is reminiscent of my favorite mystery writer, Karin Slaughter. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Z 2134 The world as we know it has been overrun with zombies for a little over 100 years. Only six walled cities remain, all ruled by the same totalitarian regime that brooks no dissent or disobedience. And for those that do, they become the newest contestants in the next installment of the Darwin Games... a televised reality show that pits 'undesirables' from the six cities in a fight for survival... the last person standing is rewarded with a life of leisure as his/her prize. And as if a fight to the finish were not enough, there is the fact that the contest takes place outside the walled areas... a barren land inhabited by zombies.

Assassin's Apprentice The characters and world are compelling and thrilling as all good fantasy should be. It was easy to connect with the characters and the pacing was perfect, with enough action and adventure to keep me turning pages as fast as my eyes could take them in. I loved reading ASSASSIN'S APPRENTICE...

A Perfect Evil

Nebraska at Halloween Time. An unusual early winter storm. A serial killer on the loose. Alex Kava's "A Perfect Evil" uses this setting to unravel a disturbing and compelling story of perfect evil. I admit that I had a hard time putting the book down, finishing it in one day, so that's definitely a sign it's an above average thriller. The plot has been laid out in other reviews, so I won't bore you with more. I can't give the book five stars, though, for two reasons: the dialogue and description of Nick and Maggie's romance is reminiscent of a Barbara Caitland romance novel, which is out of place in such a graphic, well-plotted novel. It tends to lessen the suspense, even though the characters are well developed and likeable. I just wish Alex would have stayed more within the confines of her novel. The other is that even though Ms. Kava takes us on several "red herrings" and twists, the killer's identity is much too obvious early in the book. To her credit, she plants some other possible suspects, but if you've read mysteries a lot, the identity is way too easy to spot. The ending obviously leaves room for her sequel, coming next year: "Split Second." I don't know if she'll keep both Maggie and Nick for the sequel, but I hope she does. They are great characters who I really liked. They could ditch Christine though. Her "conversion" to a likeable character didn't work for me; she still remains a victim of her own ambition, and even though she transformed, I'll bet she returns to her real self if she's in the sequel! But, anyway, this is a very good debut, and one worth reading!

Afterlight Following the fates of the Sutherland Children while they explore their past and look to the future. Again alex weaves the story brilliantly with wonderful characters (his truly best writing gift). This book delivers just as much as Last light and then gives you even more, action, pace, characters, depth, humour and sorrow...what more could you ask for in a story. Buy this book you will not be disapointed.

Last Light It IS fiction and yes there are some stereotypes in the story but then stereotypes are that for a reason...there are always exceptions...and hopefully as people get to know other people those stereotypes are proved wrong - as in this case. I liked how the characters developed enough to make me care about what happened to them yet didn't take over the story. Recommended.

In recognition of his service to the Emperor of Kitai, Shen Tai has been sent a mysterious and dangerous gift: 250

Sardian horses. Wisely the gift comes with the stipulation that the horses must be claimed in person. Otherwise, he would probably be dead already.

First Family (Audiobook) English | 2010 | ISBN: 1600248365 | M4B | 233 MB Sean King and Michelle Maxwell, back from their harrowing and near-fatal adventure in the blockbuster #1 bestseller Simple Genius, return in a mesmerizing new thriller. A daring kidnapping turns a children's birthday party at Camp David into a national security nightmare, but the hostage is not who anyone would expect. The First Lady enlists the services of King and Maxwell to bring the child back safely. Years ago, King saved her then-senator husband from an assassin's bullet; whether they shared anything else is their secret. With Michelle still recovering from her own demons the pair are pushed to the limit, with forces aligned on all sides against them, and the line between friend and foe impossible to define...or defend.

Odd Thomas (Audiobook) English | 2008 | ISBN: 0739369407 | ASIN: B000165IJ6 | 10 hours and 33 minutes | MP3 | 203 MB "The dead don't talk. I don't know why." But they do try to communicate, with a short-order cook in a small desert town serving as their reluctant confidant. Odd Thomas thinks of himself as an ordinary guy, if possessed of a certain measure of talent at the Pico Mundo Grill and rapturously in love with the most beautiful girl in the world, Stormy Llewellyn. Maybe he has a gift, maybe it's a curse, Odd has never been sure, but he tries to do his best by the silent souls who

seek him out. Sometimes they want justice, and Odd's otherworldly tips to Pico Mundo's sympathetic police chief, Wyatt Porter, can solve a crime. Occasionally they can prevent one. But this time it's different. A mysterious man comes to town with a voracious appetite, a filing cabinet stuffed with information on the world's worst killers, and a pack of hyena-like shades following him wherever he goes. Who the man is and what he wants, not even Odd's deceased informants can tell him. His most ominous clue is a page ripped from a day-by-day calendar for August 15. Today is August 14. In less than twenty-four hours, Pico Mundo will awaken to a day of catastrophe. As evil coils under the searing desert sun, Odd travels through the shifting prisms of his world, struggling to avert a looming cataclysm with the aid of his soul mate and an unlikely community of allies that includes the King of Rock 'n' Roll. His account of two shattering days when past and present, fate and destiny converge is the stuff of our worst nightmares, and a testament by which to live: sanely if not safely, with courage, humor, and a full heart that even in the darkness must persevere.

The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town (Audiobook) English | 2008 | ISBN: 0739365673 | ASIN: B000JJ3SEM | 12 hours and 32 minutes | MP3 | 686 MB John Grisham's first work of nonfiction, an exploration of small town justice gone terribly awry, is his most extraordinary legal thriller yet. In the Major League draft of 1971, the first player chosen from the state of Oklahoma was Ron Williamson. When he signed with the Oakland A's, he said goodbye to his hometown of Ada and left to pursue his dreams of big league glory. Six years later he was back, his dreams broken by a bad arm and bad habits: drinking, drugs, and women. He began to show signs of mental illness. Unable to keep a job, he moved in with his mother and slept 20 hours a day on her sofa. In 1982, a 21-year-old cocktail waitress in Ada named Debra Sue Carter was raped and murdered, and for five years the police could not solve the crime. For reasons that were never clear, they suspected Ron Williamson and his friend Dennis Fritz. The two were finally arrested in 1987 and charged with capital murder. With no physical evidence, the prosecution's case was built on junk science and the testimony of jailhouse snitches and convicts. Dennis Fritz was found guilty and given a life sentence. Ron Williamson was sent to death row.

If you believe that in America you are innocent until proven guilty, this book will shock you. If you believe in the death penalty, this book will disturb you. If you believe the criminal justice system is fair, this book will infuriate you.

The Testament (Audiobook) English | 2008 | ISBN: 0739359320 | ASIN: B00005450G | 14 hours and 33 minutes | MP3 | 748 MB Troy Phelan is a self-made billionaire, one of the richest men in the United States. He is also eccentric, reclusive, confined to a wheelchair, and looking for a way to die. His heirs, to no one's surprise - especially Troy's - are circling like vultures. Nate O'Riley is a high-octane Washington litigator who's lived too hard, too fast, for too long. His second marriage in a shambles, he is emerging from his fourth stay in rehab armed with little more than his fragile sobriety, good intentions, and resilient sense of humor. Returning to the real world is always difficult, but this time it's going to be murder. Rachel Lane is a young woman who chose to give her life to God, who walked away from the modern world with all its strivings and trappings and encumbrances, and went to live and work with a primitive tribe of Indians in the deepest jungles of Brazil. In a story that mixes legal suspense with a remarkable adventure, their lives are forever altered by the startling secret of The Testament. This presentation concludes with an Audible exclusive, narrator Frank Muller discussing what it was like to perform The Testament.

In this follow-up to his award-winning book The Bread Baker’s Apprentice, Reinhart offers groundbreaking methods for making whole grain breads that taste better than any you’ve ever had. His fifty-five recipes for whole grain sandwich, hearth, and specialty breads, plus bagels, crackers, and more, incorporate widely available whole wheat flour as well as other flours and grains such as rye, barley, steel-cut oats, cornmeal, and quinoa. Each is so rich with flavor and satisfying texture that white-flour counterparts pale in comparison. Written in Reinhart’s famously clear style and accompanied by inspiring photographs, these recipes were perfected with the help of nearly 350 testers. Introductory chapters provide a tutorial, with step-by-step photographs, of the delayed fermentation method that is at the heart of these recipes, as well as a crash course in baking science, discussions of grains other than wheat, and more. Advanced bakers will relish Reinhart’s innovative techniques and exacting scientific explanations, and beginning bakers will rejoice in the ease of baking wholesome breads with such extraordinary flavor.

Weird Astronomy: Tales of Unusual, Bizarre, and Other Hard to Explain Observations English | 2010 | ISBN: 1441964231 | 304 pages | PDF | 7 MB Weird Astronomy appeals to all who are interested in unusual celestial phenomena, whether they be amateur or professional astronomers or science buffs who just enjoy reading of odd coincidences, unexplained observations, and reports from space probes that "don’t quite fit." This book relates a variety of "unusual" astronomical observations – unusual in the sense of refusing to fit easily into accepted thinking, or unusual in the observation having been made under difficult or extreme circumstances. Although some of the topics covered are instances of "bad astronomy," most are not. Some of the observations recorded here have actually turned out to be important scientific breakthroughs. Included are some amusing anecdotes (such as the incident involving "potassium flares" in ordinary stars and the story of Abba 1, the solar system’s own flare star!), but the book’s purpose is not to ridicule those who report anomalous observations, nor is it to challenge scientific orthodoxy. It is more to demonstrate how what's "weird" often turns out to be far more significant than observations of what we expect to see.

Caine's Law - The Acts Of Caine - Book 4 - Acts of Atonement 2 (Audio Book)

English | MP3 128 kbps 44 KHz Stereo | 20 MP3s | 414 MB Genre: AudioBook From the moment Caine first appeared in the pages of Heroes Die, two things were clear. First, that Matthew Stover was one of the most gifted fantasy writers of his generation. And second, that Caine was a hero whose peers go by such names as Conan and Elric. Like them, Caine was something new: a civilized man who embraced savagery, an actor whose life was a lie, a force of destruction so potent that even gods thought twice about crossing him. Now Stover brings back his greatest creation for his most stunning performance yet. Caine is washed up and hung out to dry, a crippled husk kept isolated and restrained by the studio that exploited him. Now they have dragged him back for one last deal. But Caine has other plans. Those plans take him back to Overworld, the alternate reality where gods are real and magic is the ultimate weapon. There, in a violent odyssey through time and space, Caine will face the demons of his past, find true love, and just possibly destroy the universe. Hey, its a crappy job, but somebodys got to do it.

In a pre-apocalyptic New York City, hope lies in their ability to reach one young man who can perhaps alter the future. But history, as they'd been taught it, does not exist. And now shadowy figures are aware of their purpose and have targeted them for destruction. Nothing is as it seems. Not even the invincible past...

On the Emerald Isle, stone megaliths guard the old ways and the people who returned to them. In this cradle of Celtic lore, Kane searches for clues to the fateful enmity that shadows their hopes. But not even his fierce will nor Brigid Baptiste's empathy for the ancient ways and Grant's warrior instincts prepares them for an encounter with a woman whose ancient earth magic and other world technology bring them shatteringly close to the truth

Outlanders 02 - Destiny Run English | MP3 128 kbps 44 KHz Stereo | 1 MP3 | 328 MB Genre: AudioBook Two centuries after the nuclear holocaust, fortified villes loom in the wastelands, imposing a menacing rule that's shaping the future. In an astonishing debut, Aman Sethi brings Ashraf and his indelible group of friends to life through their adventures and misfortunes in the Old Delhi railway station, the harrowing wards of a tuberculosis hospital, an illegal bar made of cardboard and plywood, and then into Beggars Court and back onto the streets. In a time of global economic strain, this is an unforgettable evocation of persistence in the face of poverty in one of the world's largest cities. Sethi recounts Ashraf's surprising life story with wit, candor, and verve, and A Free Man becomes a moving story of the many ways a man can be free.

The Feast Nearby: How I lost my job, buried a marriage, and found my way by keeping chickens, foraging, preserving, bartering, and eating locally (all on $40 a week) Ten Speed Press | 2011 | ISBN: 158008558X | English | 272 pages | EPUB + MOBI | 2.25 MB + 1.15 MB Within a single week in 2009, food journalist Robin Mather found herself on the threshold of a divorce and laid off from her job at the Chicago Tribune. Forced into a radical life change, she returned to her native rural Michigan. There she learned to live on a limited budget while remaining true to her culinary principles of eating well and as locally as possible. In The Feast Nearby, Mather chronicles her year-long project: preparing and consuming three home-cooked, totally seasonal, and local meals a day--all on forty dollars a week. With insight and humor, Mather explores the confusion and needful compromises in eating locally. She examines why local often trumps organic, and wonders why the USDA recommends white bread, powdered milk, and instant orange drinks as part of its “low-cost” food budget program. Through local eating, Mather forges connections with the farmers, vendors, and growers who provide her with sustenance. She becomes more closely attuned to the nuances of each season, inhabiting her little corner of the world more fully, and building a life richer than she imagined it could be. The Feast Nearby celebrates small pleasures: home-roasted coffee, a pantry stocked with home-canned green beans and homemade preserves, and the contented clucking of laying hens in the backyard. Mather also draws on her rich culinary knowledge to present nearly one hundred seasonal recipes that are inspiring, enticing, and economical-cooking goals that don’t always overlap--such as Pickled Asparagus with Lemon, Tarragon, and Garlic; Cider-Braised Pork Loin with Apples and Onions; and Cardamom-Coffee Toffee Bars. Mather’s poignant, reflective narrative shares encouraging advice for aspiring locavores everywhere, and combines the virtues of kitchen thrift with the pleasures of cooking--and eating--well.
