Winger Throughout the book I was laughing, at times rolling my eyes at his teenage angst and obsession with every girl/woman he meets, but primarily rooting for him. The ending was abrupt and a bit of a downer but I guess that is life.

White Trash Zombie Apocalypse I loved it, kept me interested and someplace around the 50% mark it became a "I can't put it down" story that kept me up late and losing sleep so I could finish it. Her confusing relationship with her Dad presents a bit more "humanity" to this zombie story it would not otherwise have and gives it some added emotional depth. 5 Stars for a great story and a well written one.

Warped First off, I just have to say that I love books that have a historical setting mixed with modern day. Warped was a really fun read for me. The characters were very charming and fun to get to know. There is good action with a fun and an interesting plot. The romance was sweet and really well developed. Warped was a nicely woven tale, intermixing fantasy, myth, and the middle ages. The story really kept me intrigued the whole way through and I had a hard time putting it down. This is the first book that I have read by Guibord, but it will definitely not be my last. I would highly recommend this to anyone that likes YA fantasy books with a medieval twist to it.

Waiting for Wednesday: A Frieda Klein Mystery With its carefully crafted, nuanced plot and intriguing characters, Waiting For Wednesday is a gripping psychological thriller. I'm already excitedly anticipating the next book in the series. Though it could be read as a stand alone, I wouldn't recommend it is the accumulation of story and character detail that contributes to its appeal. Do yourself a favour and start with Blue Monday.

Until You're Mine Claudia seems to have the perfect life. Heavily pregnant with a much-wanted first baby, she has a ready-made family in the form of two small step-sons, a loving husband, and a beautiful home. But she is also committed to her full-time job as a social worker. So when Zoe arrives to help her, it seems like the answer to a prayer. Except that it's not. Because, despite Zoe's recommendations as a nanny, there's something about her that Claudia does not trust. And when she finds Zoe in her bedroom, going through her clothes and reading her papers, Claudia's initial anxiety turns into fear.

Unspeakable This is a truly entertaing mystery thriller that is impossible to put down until the very last page. This story has a bit of everything, the writing is fast paced, the plot is amazingly well thought out, and until the end the reader is not sure in which direction the story will go. The characters in this story are very different from normal novel characters and it's difficult to discern who the baddies and goodies are. I can do nothing but recommend wholeheartedly the roller coaster of spine tingling ups and downs that comprise this fantastic novel.

Unseen

Once again, the author surprised me by taking this character to a place I never expected. Unseen is a must read for any fan of the Will Trent series. If you are new to the works of Karin Slaughter, you are in for a treat. You have just found your new favorite author.

Turing Evolved If you like a good science fiction tale along with some action and adventure, I would highly recommend this one to you. The author does a great job of having you get inside the head of his characters, and I found myself daydreaming about some of the technology in a Walter Mitty moment wishing some of the technologies in the book were available today I had a hard time putting this one down and stayed up really late last night reading it. There is a hint of a sequel to this book in the author notes at the end, and I will gladly purchase it if / and / or when it becomes available.

Tide, Feather, Snow: A Life in Alaska Weiss impressively catalogs the changes that have taken place in the area whether they are seasonal, or cultural like the shift from fishing village to retirement location. She creates an amazing sense of place which made the book a joy to read.

The Wicked (A Novella of the Elder Races) The Wicked was all I could have hoped for, just wished it was longer. Readers are greedy folks when it comes to good books...and author Thea Harrison is magnificent in the books she writes. Sebastian and Olivia are wonderful characters. The plot of the story was entertaining with just enough action for a novella to keep you glued to the pages. I hope to see more of Sebastian, Olivia and all of the crew in upcoming books. I highly recommend The Wicked to those with a deep abiding love to all things paranormal and romantic. Kudos to Thea Harrison...and looking forward to your next book....may it be very soon.

The Thousand Names: Book One of The Shadow Campaigns

The Thousand Names is a book that will appeal to both seasoned veterans and newbies to the military fantasy genre. It's full of epic battles, friendship and vast array of characters that you will find hard not to admire, love and cheer for. In a flock of fantasy books that are published this year, this is a gem that should not be missed and I warmly recommend it to all fans of fantasy.

The Serpent's Tooth The new Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan reigns over a colossally wealthy empire of 100 million souls. Yet to gain his throne he has followed the savage 'throne or coffin' traditions of his ancestors - descendants of Genghis Khan and Tamburlaine. Ever since the Moghuls took India, brother has fought brother and sons their fathers for the prize and Shah Jahan has been no exception.

The School for Good and Evil This is a book that transcends fairy tales and will charm children and adults from the first sentence until the end. It questions ones identity and reveals some unnerving truths along the way. For while Sophie and Agatha are taken on a journey to find out who they really are, they also discover what it is they really want from life.

The Fire Witness Another captivating entry in the Joona Linna series. Equally good if not better than the "The Hypnotist" and "The Nightmare." Concise chapters, easy flowing narrative, and a chilling plot make for a great entry to the Scandanavian crime fiction genre. Highly recommended!

The Distance Between Us Overall, I really loved this book. As a follow-up to Pivot Point, which I LOVED, it did not disappoint. Kasie West does an awesome job creating likable, realistic characters and situations that are unique . She also wrote some of my favorite dialogue that I've read in a while. If you're a fan of sarcasm, you'll like Caymen. If you're a fan of Stephanie Perkins or just love YA contemporary romances, I think you'll definitely love The Distance Between Us as well. This book is a fun, quick romance that is perfect for summer. So go check it out!

The Black Guard (The Long War #1) The Black Guard is simply put the best dark fantasy book I have read in years. The characters are realistic and hard talking, the monsters are cthulhuian (a particular favorite of mine) AJ Smith has clearly been influenced by Lovecraft and Barker. There is some character death but he does not seem overly obsessed with killing all his characters (unlike some other current fantasy authors. The world is very believable and there is the definate sense that much more is going on than meets the eye. I can't wait for the next episode in this saga.

Terminal (Tunnels Book 6)

In this sixth and concluding book of the Tunnels series, the Styx and their cohorts of deadly Armagi have swept across England, leaving death and devastation in their wake. It seems nothing can stop them now. Only a miracle can save the day and, in the inner world at the centre of the earth, Will and Elliott might just have stumbled upon one as they uncover ancient secrets that are fundamental to al human and Styx life.

Storm Surge (Destroyermen) Mr. Anderson has produced another of his series about World War II era destroyermen transport to an alternate Earth. It is worth the read. He keeps the story line consistent with the previous books in the series, yet manages (as usual) to introduce ingenious plot twists. Mr. Anderson's command of the technology is very good. He introduces enough detail to keep the interest of the historical technology enthusiasts without bogging down the story and plot with too many details. If you like H. Beam Piper, David Weber or John Ringo, you will like Mr. Anderson's works.

Soldier of the Legion SOLIDER OF THE LEGION is a deep, rich story that captures the heart of Sci-fi while bringing the elements of suspense, mystery, horror, and romance together and blending them into a perfect story that everyone will enjoy. Thomas's talent as a writer shines through the action, making the dialogue captivating, and in many passages, moving. His protagonist, Thinker, may be involved in a life that few of us have experienced, but Thomas keeps Thinker so human that

we are able to experience the joy, the pain, and the fear that a soldier of the Legion endures while putting his or her life on the line without question.

Queen of Swords For starters, I need to be totally up front Katee Robert is my critique partner and has been since I first had a critique partner. She wouldn't have lasted that long if I didn't love her work. So, what you're about to read is a gushing review, but it's a gushing review because I truly think her stuff is fantastic.

Prophecy's Ruin (Broken Well Trilogy 1) The characters, light and dark, are charismatic, charming and wholly believable. The world, its inhabitants, the magical constructs - nothing is one dimensional and everything presents a clever twist for the genre. If, like me, you've grown disillusioned by cookie-cutter plots, sheepherders bemoaning their destinies because they just want to be sheepherders, and the same five races of mythical creatures, then this is the book you need!

Other I loved this one! A favorite. I love how brave Gwen is, how she sticks up for herself and doesn't let people walk all over her. I can't wait to see what Kincy does with the next book!

Nine Days This book is a real page-turner. Compelling characters, both American and Asian. It captures the feel of Hong Kong. The pacing is exciting - would make a great movie.

London's Last True Scoundrel I loved this book it is a story that I fell into from the first page Jonathon is a scoundrel and Hilary is strong woman a stickler for the rules after all that is what she has been teaching young girls, but things change when in a storm they meet, two very different people who fall deeply in love through a lot of hurdles. This one had me laughing and smiling it is so well written and of course the cast of characters that we have met in this series just makes this one a must to read. A fantastic story I loved it and am very much looking forward to Beckenham's story.

Library of Gold (Rogue Angel) He was one of Russia's most infamous rulers, and he alone held the key to a legendary Byzantine collection of books, given to him in the dowry of Princess Sophia of Constantinople. Ivan Vasilyevich—otherwise known as Ivan the Terrible owned a library filled with rare and priceless tomes that men would kill for. Would die for. But the czar carried the knowledge of its whereabouts to his grave. And it falls to archaeologist Annja Creed, almost five hundred years later, to discover the secrets of the Library of Gold.

Killing Rachel It's been five years since Rose's mother and Josh's father disappeared while on a dinner date. Police inquiries have gone nowhere and the case, it seems, is closed: Rose and Josh have been told that the police officially believe their parents are dead. But they still hold out hope that they are alive-particularly since their discovery of several cryptic notebooks that detail police cases their parents may have been investigating.

If the Shoe Fits Mulry delivers a steamy romance perfect for beach reading. Sarah and Devon are likable characters as the balance their personal vulnerabilities with their business confidences.

I Dream of Danger: A Ghost Ops Novel Overall, this is a series that I will continue to follow. The characterization and creative storyline with some surprising events kept my interest, and I look forward to the third book which features Jon, the third predominant team member and his search for a woman in danger.

Hunting Andrea has a true gift in world building. She throws you into a story and immerses you in the rich details and idiosyncrasies. Her heroines are strong, brave, and capable. They are a joy to get to know and I end up wishing I could have a girls night out with them.

Hungry Like a Wolf When her father died, Honor Tate inherited the alpha position for a pack of werewolves based in New England. But why her? Honor would have rather just lived a “normal” life, with the occasional run through the woods in her furry suit. Still, Honor was raised to put the welfare of the pack first…and now it’s time to make a formal request that the alpha of the Silverback clan the pack to which all locals owe fealty recognize her as alpha of the White Paw. But instead of sending his support, the Silverbacks send Logan Hunter.

High Risk Love Well Shannon did it again!!! she tried a different style of genre, no infected couples ,no trackers, no really hot FBI agents, and she pulled it off!! This was awsome!! Jet is well, what can i say about a hot, damaged , stuntman, with a way with the ladies?? it works for him! Jasmine is also carrying around her own pain from the loss of her family, So when these 2 meet.. yep Fireworks!! they need each other to heal the pain in their lives. I loved it and would highly recommend it to everyone!!

Her Dying Breath (A Slaughter Creek Novel)

Journalist Brenda Banks is on the verge of the biggest story of her career if she can stay alive long enough to finish it. A serial killer is targeting men in the small town of Slaughter Creek, leaving behind a twisted trail of clues meant only for Brenda. It’s a dangerous, deadly game, one she cannot master without the help of FBI Special Agent Nick Blackwood, the man she’s loved since high school and whose tormented past could hold the key to catching a killer.

Four Widows Strong themes of friendship, secrets, betrayal, love and loss create a strong structure for this book. There is gorgeous use of imagery and some beautiful sentences that stand out from start to finish. Overall, strong, solid writing and some genuinely funny moments amidst the mystery and suspense. I was sorry to leave the characters at the end of the book. Looking forward to the next in the series when it becomes available.

Forgotten Sins I HIGHLY recommend this book and cannot wait for Matt's book. The sneak peek at the end was not enough. I want to know more...NOW! Seriously, a fabulous set-up for what promises to be an amazing series!!

For Nick I read this in one sitting! It was simply amazing! My emotions were all over the place! I laughed, I got mad, I cried. What else can a person want? I had a good idea who Nick was before it was revealed. However, there was still an element that I did not expect.

Eventide: Tales of the Dragon's Bard, Book 1 I had kind of a hard time getting into this book. I'm not really sure why, maybe part of it is just that it's kind of hard to tell whose point of view you are hearing the story from. You would kind of think it would mostly be from Edvard the Just, but he's a pretty zany character by himself,

and it's pretty funny what the other characters think about him. But there are a lot of characters in this book and sometimes the point of view is from one and sometimes it's from another one. Anyway, by the time I had gotten halfway into the book, I was really enjoying it. The characters are hilarious and they are very good at getting themselves into really funny sticky situations. I gave this book 4 stars because I did end up liking the plot and I can't wait to see what Edvard does next!

Enthralled I enjoyed reading the stories . They were well written and kept my interest. I think anthologies are a good way to introduce several authors and their writing styles.

Dying to Tell (A Slaughter Creek Novel) Events and secrets involving murderers, doctors, the Sanitarium Jakes missing father and other mentally disturbed individuals begin to intertwine and come to a head as Jake and Sadie investigate the connections. Bodies are beginning to mount in an otherwise sleepy boon dock town in the middle of nowhere bringing peril, destruction and danger to the main characters.

Dot In a higgledy-piggledy house with turrets and tunnels towering over the sleepy Welsh village of Druith, two girls play hide and seek. They don’t see its grandeur or the secrets locked behind doors they cannot open. They see lots of brilliant places to hide.

Daughter of the Sword: A Novel of the Fated Blades 'Daughter of the Sword' doesn't start out with a gripping action scene, instead making the wise decision to draw readers in more subtly, but it does immediately bring readers into a world that they may be very unfamiliar with. By giving them something new, Bein leaves them wanting to learn more about this world and its characters.

Crazy Bitch (Bitches and Queens) As with the first book in this series I was confronted by things that I was either not really aware of or uncomfortable thinking about but in this love story it is brought again back home to me how much everyone deserves to be able to love and be loved without fear or prejudice.

Beautiful Day

The characters are rich, multidimensional. Family relationships and sibling rivalries are realistic in their complexity. I love Elin Hilderbrand's books, set on Nantucket and usually released just in time for summer. Each year her writing becomes richer, her characters have more depth, and her stories more compelling. I can't wait until next year...

Balefires This collection includes stories published in other drake compliation volumes before as well as stories I had never seen by him. One story was re-written by August Derleth shortly before he died (Denkirch) and definitely reads like an August Derleth story (I always felt Derleth's Lovecraft-style stories were a little too transparently constructed compared to the originals, and this story is that way too). Many of his stories set in Vietnam are here, as well as other fantastic stories with varied settings.

Affliction (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter) I loved this book. I too thought that LKH's books had really started to go downhill. But I enjoyed this one. Not to much sex and if she has added new kinks, well, who cares. There is not as much whining about how she always has to prove herself. And I think how she describes her love life is very well done. I don't think she is trying to ram group relationships down our throats. So I loved the plot and enjoyed some of the old characters she brought back. Like The Wicked Truth. Love those boys.

Absent I liked the storyline in this book, it dealt with some difficult topics, but did it with humour to stop the subject matter from becoming too depressing. There were several parts that made me laugh, and I loved the observation that the school was over-run with ghost frogs who had given their lives to science as dissection studies.

Awaken The lesson is that relationships take work and compromise. At least that's what I get out of it anyway. The family unit is also relatable in its imperfections. The pacing is perfect and there's

quite a bit of action to keep everything flowing smoothly. Obviously I have no complaints and recommend the whole trilogy.

A Mother's Wish Finding a soul-mate for a mother who deserves to be loved! Meg's teenage daughter, Lindsey, had the nerve to place a personal ad on her behalf - 'Wanted: Perfect Partner. I'm dating-shy, divorced and seeking a man with marriage in mind.' Worse, Steve Conlan, who answered the ad, was perfect, according to Lindsey. Did a teenage matchmaker get it right? Robin Masterton's young son, Jeff, thinks he needs a dog more than anything in the world.

A Home in the West (The Amish of Apple Grove) I would love to read more. It is a great story that I would like to find out what happens next.

A Cursed Embrace: A Weird Girls Novel A Cursed Embrace had me hooked from the very first page, the plot was fantastic, their enemies were creepy and horrifying and I had my heart in my mouth several times in absolute terror about what was about to happen. By the time I reached the end I felt like I'd been through the emotional equivalent of my washing machine spin cycle, I had been through every single possible emotion (some more than once) and I was left reeling at the end of it.

Zom-B Angels After spending the last few months wandering around London, a city filled with the dead, B Smith has given up hope for any sign of normal human existence. But then B finds strange signs all over the city a "Z" plus red arrows. Following them, B finds The Angels, a group gathered in the hopes of combating the evil dead and the forces that introduced them. But all is not as it seems and it's up to B to find out: what battle are they truly waging?

Children of the Jacaranda Tree This is a book for someone who wants to understand and feel the suffering in Iran. While the quality of the writing makes it read quickly, it is not light nor fun reading. If you are looking for that look elsewhere this is a book of tragedy and suffering, although also of survival and hope.

Witch Wraith: The Dark Legacy of Shannara I read this final book in the trilogy with excitement about whether or not the missing elfstones would be found, whether Grianne would be brought back, and so on. Terry does a good job of building suspense in the prior two books and makes this trilogy one of the more memorable

ones to read. I didn't like that certain details weren't as resolved as they could be and I'd have loved to have seen more information about the different elfstones and how they work, but overall this is a good book to read and naturally it sets up what will be undoubtedly a new sequel to the series. If you like Shannara this trilogy will show you that Terry is getting back to what makes the books great.

Wind Rider (Return of the Dragons) (Volume 2) This book definitely topped the first book! Mr. Jacobs had mastered the art of writing about magic. I very much hope there is as third book in the works!

Where I End and You Begin Seriously, this is probably the best new adult romance out there right now. With tons of emotional tension and the best friendship-turned-romance I've read in a while, it managed to make me laugh and cry within pages. Bianca is one of my favorite unlikely heroines. Awesome!!

Water Witch (A New Adult Novel of Fantasy, Magic, and Romance) Though the stories and the heroines are different in many ways, I found myself repeatedly comparing Thea's Alaysha in Water Witch to Jean Auel's Ayla in the the Earth's Children book series...and that, by the way, is a compliment. Both characters, Ayla & Alaysha, were remarkable young women who were different from others and also USED by others. Ms. Atkinson's characterization and plot development are flawless, and the plot moved smoothly. I enjoyed this book immensely and look forward to the next in the series.

This Machine Kills

In the all-too-near future, Britain has been turned into a number of gated cities run by the allpowerful ClearSkies Corporation. Whilst those inside the cities lead a gifted existence where a responsible civilian’s most important duty is to spend, the people left in the crumbling OldTowns desperately cling to life. It is in one of these dilapidated areas that Taylor, a security officer with a troubled past, patrols the streets with his trigger-happy team. Their task is to make sure the hungry people that mass on its edges do not infiltrate Hope City. Taylor’s job is soon to be made significantly easier by the fifty-foot-high concrete wall being built around the city’s perimeter.

The Whiteness of the Whale An adventure with storms so vividly described that you can feel being on the boat and straining with all you have to survive Arctic cold, ice, and just missing being capsized. Character development that puts you standing close to each of the shipmates and ready to reply to their words and actions. A story with the twists of fate you expect from Poyer you just can't predict the next events and certainly not the ending. As always, Poyer does his meticulous research. Latest scientific research on the cause of an animal or human going rogue, the nature of the enviroment threatening a sea going research vessel, the methods of the whale hunters, and of course the emotional relationships possible with a small crew. A good yarn!

The Rings that Bind

The day Rosa agreed to wear Nicolai Baranski's ring she wasn't so foolish as to expect love. Yet nothing could have prepared her for the aching loneliness of her husband's constant indifference an indifference that proved too much to bear.

The Prisoner (Henderson's Boys) This series is amazing, if you like historic young adult books look no further. These are also educational, although Robert Muchamore puts his great humor to these novels, and lets boys be boys. Set in WW2 this story of the Prisoner is one of the best in the series. Poor Marc really gets pushed to the limits.

The Poor Man's Girl (The Girls) The poor man is an unemployed drunk with a tiny petite beautiful young wife that he sells to support his booze and gaming habits. This brute is a poor excuse for a man and a husband. Unknown to him his pretty wife has made friends with the new neighbor who witnesses her humiliation at the hands of the three older burly men that purchased the use of her body. The sex scene is explicit in its description, as are the other two books in this series and I highly recommend all three of them.

The Player's Girl (The Girls) The Player's Girl is the third in this series of short stand-alone stories. Ms. Vicente has presented another unique and sexy short story with the cute twist at the end that makes you smile. This is a short, sweet and sexy story that is very entertaining. WOW!

The Mourning After Georgia is very likable even at the most frustrating of times. The reader will find it easy to have empathy for her and root for her. I love that somewhere in her soul she knew what she had to do from the very beginning even before the Summer started. This alone is testament to how strong

she unknowingly is. Why did she push the truth away for so long? I can't wait to see where she goes and how she grows, something tells me it will be a hell of a ride.

The Morcai Battalion: The Recruit The Recruit gives you a wider view of Diana's galaxy. There is more information that was hinted at in the first book but there is still more to come. The relationship between Ruszel and Dtimun grows and becomes very complicated and by the end of the book you're ready for the third. Absolutley hooked!! I cant' wait for the next book!!

The Morcai Battalion: Invictus For almost three years Dtimun, the enigmatic and mysterious Cehn-Tahr commander of the Morcai Battalion, has been at war not only with the Rojok Dynasty, but also with his feisty Medical Chief of Staff, Dr. Madeline Ruszel. Now a surprising visitor from the future has charged them with the rescue of the enemy Rojok, Field Marshal Chacon. To ensure success, both Madeline and Dtimun must make personal sacrifices and attempt a dangerous mission behind enemy lines. Sparks fly as each twisting turn throws them closer together than they've ever been before—can they resist acting on desires they have long denied?

The Morcai Battalion This is definietely Diana's writing and her wit but a new genre for most of her fans. It was a little difficult at the beginning to read and understand all the plot and characters but it gets better as it moves through the story. I am looking forward to reading more about these characters. Ms Palmer writes that she started this book when she was a teenager and this is a dream for her to get the book out and in a way she wanted. I liked the story and want to know more.

The Ice Gate of Spyre

This has great adventure and makes for a quick read. I love the inventive story. This book would be great for a read aloud for 3rd or 4th grade. I cannot wait to see how the series concludes and what happens when all the crowns are brought together.

The Heart of Matter: Odyssey One I have bad luck when it comes to picking vine books at times because I seem to pick a book that is the second or the third in a series. This problem causes me to be at a lost with the lack of a background story. Several reviewers have stated to read the first one, or you will be lost. I must be lucky then, while there are references to the first book, I had no trouble following the story. So go figure! The description of equiment is quite clear to my mind. I found the idea of Central, while not clear as to what it is, to be one of my favorite things. The author uses Central to put forth ideas about bravery and humanity. These small snipettes of moral issues didn't bother me. I also like the concept of how close the two worlds were but just a hair off to make things interesting. The villians have this thing for red that is cool. All In all I enjoyed this book and look forward to more.

The Escape (Henderson's Boys) I love this book deals with history in a way that make it come alive for the reader. Furthermore, in this day of instant everything, I think it's a great way to help teens understand that the world

wasn't always just a text message away and information wasn't just there under your fingertips waiting for you to access it.

The Deadheart Shelters I LOVE THIS BOOK! Forrest is so talented, and I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed by this book. I only wish it was longer, because it was such an enjoyable read.

The Billionaire's Trophy What is his intern's photo doing on an escort website? Bastian Christou doesn't know if he's more surprised by her double life, or her stunning photo she's kept those curves well hidden! He has an ex-fiancee to keep at bay and Emmie Marshall might just be the best armor money can buy.

Summer in February Touching story of love and regret among a colony of artist in Cornwall prior to World War 1. A sensitive and revealing insight to the feelings of love and devotion for a beautiful visitor to the colony that remain in place for many years. These are characters that stay with you long after you have finished the book.

Some Quiet Place

The story was quick paced and exciting. Trying to piece together that is Elizabeth will keep you turning the pages long into the night. I thoroughly enjoyed trying to figure out the mystery, and oh man, you will be surprised!

Slave of the Legion Marshall S. Thomas excels at creating memorable characters and horrifying, realistic battles in dark territories far from home. He skillfully shows readers the physical and psychological toll taken on the warriors who sacrifice everything to keep humanity safe. Each battle fought for humanity`s cause, whether won or lost, brings Beta closer to a strange salvation. These futuristic warriors, like those of their past, face horrifying violence so others can sleep peacefully in their beds at night without fear. Thomas makes it clear that war is not all guts and glory, and that's why I say his Legion series is exceptional.

Shudder More is learned about the Engineers, Alessa and Isaac's relationship undergoes some new developments, there is a good amount of action/adventure involving life and death situations, and the epilogue promises major conflicts in the third book of this amazing trilogy.

Seventh Retribution Captain Darnath Lysander, hero of the Imperial Fists and captain of their elite First Company, leads his brothers in an assault on a daemon world. Beset by unimaginable horrors and tortured by memories of his time imprisoned by the dark forces of the Iron Warriors Legion, Lysander must rally his Space Marines to defeat the master of the daemonic hordes before they are all consumed - or corrupted - by the insidious powers of Chaos.

Secret Army (Henderson's Boys)

The government is building a secret army of intelligence agents to work undercover, gathering information and planning sabotage operations. Henderson's boys are part of that network: kids cut adrift by the war, training for the fight of their lives. They'll have to parachute into unknown territory, travel cross-country, and outsmart a bunch of adults in a daredevil exercise. In wartime Britain, anything goes.

Scorched Earth (Henderson's Boys) This book was a great ending to a great series. My brother really liked the book and I recommend this series to anyone. It shipped quickly as well.

Pushed to the Edge (SEAL Team 14) Will the cooperation of these two units result in the return and destruction of the smallpox virus? And, how does Victoria's investigation of the Congressman tie in with this virus?

Possess Me Slowly I really enjoyed this book. I loved reading about how Kate and Adam were doing. Emma is a spitfire. Preston was HOT! Her fathers illness was heartbreaking. I am really looking forward to Emma and (fingers crossed) Rhys story in the fall.

One Shot Kill (Henderson's Boys) Stupendous book for adolescent readers filled with courage bravery and other espionage content ideal for young adults... Great read for me anyway...

Monsoon Memories The twists and turns in this book were so engaging. I found myself waking up morning after morning at 4:30 am, despite being on summer vacation, just to finish it. Now that it's done, I can't stop thinking about it. I fell in love with the characters, especially Vinod. He was so sweet and endearing. I loved this book, and I'm so happy that I read it. I definitely recommend it!

Losing Hope

Haunted by the little girl he couldn’t save from imminent danger, Holder’s life has been overshadowed by feelings of guilt and remorse. He has never stopped searching for her, believing that finding her would bring him the peace he needs to move on. However, Holder could not have anticipated that he would be faced with even greater pain the moment they reconnect.

Looks Could Kill To be completely honest, I couldn't put the book down. It kept me wanting more and I couldn't wait to be able to pick it back up again and get back into the action. David Ellis writes a good story and sets a good scene in which the reader can get lose himself in. You actually feel like you are a part of the story and you have your favorite characters that you get excited for every time they are back in the mix. I don't think anyone has ever taken the saying "If looks could kill" as literally as the author did and transform that into a book. David Ellis is an author to watch, he can really write.

Knives and Sheaths I LOVE Elena and Raphael so any story about them is a good story. But....I just love how Raphael just gets Elena.

Joe Victim: A Thriller Joe Middleton’s story is this: He doesn’t remember killing anyone, so there’ s no way a jury can convict him of serial murder. He calls himself Joe Victim, trying, as he awaits trial, to convince the psychiatrists that he wasn’t in control of his actions trusting that the system will save him in the end.

Jesus Land: A Memoir

This book will raise the hackles of those still locked in religious la-la-land, but it should be read by all as a bracing reminder of all that is good and all that is not behind the closed doors of American homes and churches. If Jesus were present in these situations, I think he would be heart-broken and ashamed. Unfortunately, I don't think he is present in most of the activities that bear his name. And without Julia's sort of honesty, we will only continue to perpetuate the worst crimes of all.

Jack Stone - Wild Justice (The Dark Master Series) (Volume 1) Wild Justice is a titillating, suspenseful, edge of your set thrill ride with just enough erotica to throw you over the edge! It is ride I want to take over and over again! I absolutely could not put it down! Wild Justice is the perfect combination of everything that makes a book

It's Fine By Me The writing style goes from sparse to lyrical and back again as the story runs through some familiar Petterson themes: the yearning and rejection of connection, the need to make it on one's own terms, the tough emotional road to growing up. Behind it all is the terror of an abusive father and the true scars that abuse leaves behind. Combined with the wrenching home scenes are poignant ones: at one point, Audun runs away and is taken in by a gentle farmer named Leif where he experiences tenderness. As readers, we know Audun can't stay there forever but it's an unsettling contrast about what could have been...and what is.

Imprisoned by a Vow Being sold into marriage by her stepfather is Leila's one chance to escape. But instead of freedom, Leila finds herself bound by deep passions ignited by her inscrutable new husband. Australian billionaire Joss Carmody knows the rules of this game he'll shower his new wife with diamonds and in return he'll use her land to expand his business. That's all he ever wanted from this exchange, but he hadn't banked on the attraction Leila awakens.

I Don't Want to be Crazy I recommend this book to anyone in high school or older, but teens, young adults, and parents of teenagers will find it especially pertinent. And if you do know someone who has an anxiety disorder, you absolutely must read this book immediately!

Hands of the Ripper The author pitches the story in such a way that the reader can make up his/her own mind as to whether or not any supernatural influences play any part in the proceedings. Dr. John Pritchard is half-convinced his dead wife is haunting him, which is how he becomes involved in the whole sorry mess in the first place. He imagines her guiding him at the end, but there's certainly no hard and fast evidence that this isn't simply his own subconscious at work. As for the tragic Anna, Adams makes clever use of the fact that multiple personality disorder was associated with demonic possession in less enlightened times. I'm again pleasantly surprised to be able to recommend a film novelisation so highly.

Halfway I really enjoyed Halfway. It was quite a short book and only took me two evenings to read. If you've read Running From Secrets by the same author, you will have come across one of the main characters in Halfway before - Cemagna. Saying that, Halfway is it's own story so you do not have to read Running From Secrets first.

Grey Wolves (Henderson's Boys) German submarines are prowling the North Atlantic, sinking ships filled with the food, fuel, and weapons that Britain needs to survive. With the Royal Navy losing the war at sea, six young agents must sneak into Nazi-occupied Europe and sabotage a submarine base on France's western coast. If the submarines aren't stopped, the British people will starve.

Gotcha! (Sisterhood) Fern Michaels is my favorite author. I have read all of her books. And this newest book in her Sisterhood series is my favorite in the series. Not only does she address current social and cultural issues, but comes up with the most innovative and surprising solutions. My friends have also read this book and we all agree it is the best book of the year. You ROCK, Fern. Keep up the great work. I am recommending this book to everyone.

Endgame (Volume 1) By day, she is a normal denizen of the oppressive Regency, but by night, she is wracked by terrible nightmares that hint at a past she can no longer remember. She suspects she might have killed someone and she's afraid that she might do it again. At the same time, the games she's playing are growing steadily more violent. Someone is hacking into the system and creating bootlegged games. Dangerous games. Deadly games. Games that tell a story of profound corruption and massive-scale government conspiracies, warping the lines between fact and fiction.

She's all in when it comes to stopping this man from robbing Casa de Esperanza's casino. Clade CLADE is set 50 years after a catastrophic ecological collapse, the 'ecocaust', a human-caused mass-extinction right up there with the five worst in Earth's history. Civilization was saved by heavy-handed reengineering of the biosphere, but at a cost of billions of lives lost, and a tightly -regimented social setup. Budz does a nice job of worldbuilding in CLADE, and handles the ambiguous costs and benefits of new technology very well indeed.

Bone Witch (A Supernatural Fantasy Novel)

As with any excellent fantasy series, the more things that are explained and resolved, the more questions arise. The character of water witch Alaysha is a complex one and Ms. Atkinson continues her masterful storytelling revealing bits and pieces of the witch's heritage keeping the reader riveted to the story. With each new piece of the puzzle Alaysha understands, forces her to make even more difficult decisions. She now understands why her father had all caring beaten out of her in her youth. The more she loves, the more agonizing living becomes. No spoilers here, but suffice it to say, there are twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I can't wait for the next book to find out what the author has in store for us. Highly Recommended.

Blood Witch (A New Adult Novel of Fantasy, Magic, and Romance: The Sequel to Water Witch) Awesome read! I have been scouring Kindle Books for a new fantasy series that can keep my attention and this one definitely did. It is also a breath of fresh air to read a fantasy story mainly from a female perspective and feeling real female emotions toward family, lovers, etc. It doesn't take long to get attached to each of the characters and the end of Blood Witch kept me wanting more. I can't wait till Bone Witch! This was my first read by Thea Atkinson and I can see her becoming a pretty big deal in fantasy writing.

Bliss Rosemary Bliss’s family has a secret. It’s the Bliss Cookery Booke an ancient, leather-bound volume of enchanted recipes like Stone Sleep Snickerdoodles and Singing Gingersnaps. Rose and her siblings are supposed to keep the Cookery Booke under lock and whisk-shaped key

while their parents are out of town, but then a mysterious stranger shows up. “Aunt” Lily rides a motorcycle, wears purple sequins, and whips up exotic (but delicious) dishes for dinner. Soon boring, nonmagical recipes feel like life before Aunt Lily a lot less fun.

Secret Power of Tantrik Breathing: Techniques for Attaining Health, Harmony, and Liberation 2009 | ISBN: 1594772894 | English | 152 Pages | PDF | 3.10 MB Explores the secrets and benefits of alternate nostril breathing practices • Includes breathing techniques to help overcome infertility, bad luck, and illnesses • Explains the interactions of the vital energy of breath with the chakras and energy channels (nadis) There is an intimate relationship between breathing and our emotional states. When we are nervous or excited, our breath rate increases. Conversely, if we alter our rate of breathing, we can alter our emotional state. The ancient civilization of India developed methods for changing

the emotions and states of consciousness through yogic meditation and pranayama (breath control). Secret Power of Tantrik Breathing teaches the advanced pranayama system of svaraodaya, which is based on the fact that we normally breathe freely through only one nostril at a time. In a healthy person, breathing changes roughly every one and a half hours from one nostril to the other, with each nostril imparting different qualities to one’s mental and physical state. The left nostril is cool, soothing, passive, and feminine in nature; the right is warm, energizing, active, and masculine. When the breath remains in one nostril for longer than normal, mental and physical illness can result. The goal of svaraodaya is to harmonize the breath from each nostril with the life task needing to be accomplished. This book explains how to practice this breath control and how the vital energy of breath interacts with the chakras and energy channels (nadis) to create overall balance and harmony. It also includes svaraodaya breathing techniques to help overcome illnesses, infertility, and bad luck; make predictions; and attain liberation from the cycle of rebirth.

When we find ourselves wanting something strong enough, we'll do just about anything to get it--sometimes at the expense of our bodies, brains, banks accounts, and relationships. In Craving, Omar Manejwala, M.D., translates the neurobiology of this phenomenon into real and accessible terms, explaining why we just can't seem to get enough. He then gives us tools and guidance to find satisfaction without giving in to our cravings. Dr. Manejwala explains: - how and why our brain drives behavior - how to change the part of our brain that fuels our cravings - the warning signs that craving is evolving into addiction - why craving is the most difficult component of addiction to address - why certain groups are so effective at changing behaviors, receiving encouragement, and remaining accountable

The Astronomy Revolution: 400 Years of Exploring the Cosmos 2012 | ISBN-10: 1439836000 | 450 pages | PDF | 15 MB Some 400 years after the first known patent application for a telescope by Hans Lipperhey, The Astronomy Revolution: 400 Years of Exploring the Cosmos surveys the effects of this instrument and explores the questions that have arisen out of scientific research in astronomy and cosmology. Inspired by the international New Vision 400 conference held in Beijing in October 2008, this interdisciplinary volume brings together expanded and updated contributions from 26 esteemed conference speakers and invited others. Looking beyond questions of science to the role of moral responsibility in human civilizations, the book offers the unique vantage points of contributions from both Eastern and Western cultures. Extensively illustrated in full color, this book consists of six parts. Aimed at young scientists, the first part presents perspectives on creativity and technology in scientific discovery. In the second part, contributors examine how the telescope has impacted our knowledge of the Universe—from the formation of galaxies to the death of stars. The third part of the book outlines some of the challenges we face in understanding dark matter, dark energy, black holes, and cosmic rays, and the fourth part discusses new technologies that will be useful in attacking new and unresolved questions. The fifth part of the book examines the intellectual impact that the telescope has had on society in China and in the West. The book concludes with an investigation of "big questions": What is the origin of the laws of physics as we know them? Are these laws the same everywhere? How do these scientific laws relate to the moral laws of society? Does what we know depend on cultural ways of asking the questions? Is there life elsewhere? And what about the questions that science cannot answer? Celebrating the historical significance of the telescope, this unique book seeks to inspire all those involved or interested in the enterprise of astronomy as humankind continues the quest to unveil the heavens.

The Perilous West: Seven Amazing Explorers and the Founding of the Oregon Trail ISBN: 1442211121 | 2012 | EPUB | 270 pages | 3 MB Although a host of adventurers stormed west in 1806 after Lewis and Clark’s safe return, seven of them left unique legacies because of their monumental journeys, their lionhearted spirit in the face of hardship, and the way their paths intertwined time and again. The Perilous West tells this riveting story in depth for the first time, focusing on each of the seven explorers in turn – Ramsey Crooks, Robert McClellan, John Hoback, Jacob Reznor, Edward Robinson, Pierre Dorion, and Marie Dorion. These seven counted the Tetons, Hells Canyon, and South Pass among their discoveries. More importantly, they forged the Oregon Trail–a path destined to link the Atlantic coast with the Pacific, spurring national expansion as it carried trappers, soldiers, pioneers, missionaries, and gold-seekers westward. The Perilous West begins in 1806, when Crooks and McClellan meet Lewis and Clark, and the vast expanse from the Dakotas to the Pacific coast appears a commercial paradise. The story ends in 1814, when a band of French Canadian trappers rescue Marie Dorion, and even John Jacob Astor’s well-financed enterprise has ended in violence and chaos, placing the protagonists squarely in the context of Thomas Jefferson’s monumental opening of the West, which stalled with the War of 1812.

Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army ISBN: 156858394X | 2008 | EPUB | 560 pages | 2 MB Meet Blackwater USA, the powerful private army that the U.S. government has quietly hired to operate in international war zones and on American soil. With its own military base, a fleet of twenty aircraft, and twenty-thousand troops at the ready, Blackwater is the elite Praetorian Guard for the "global war on terror"-- yet most people have never heard of it. It was the moment the war turned: On March 31, 2004, four Americans were ambushed and burned near their jeeps by an angry mob in the Sunni stronghold of Falluja. Their charred corpses were hung from a bridge over the Euphrates River. The ensuing slaughter by U.S. troops would fuel the fierce Iraqi resistance that haunts occupation forces to this day. But these men were neither American military nor civilians. They were highly trained private soldiers sent to Iraq by a secretive mercenary company based in the wilderness of North Carolina. Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army is the unauthorized story of the epic rise of one of the most powerful and secretive forces to emerge from the U.S. military-industrial complex, hailed by the Bush administration as a revolution in military affairs, but considered by others as a dire threat to American democracy.

Classics and Comics ISBN: 0199734186, 0199734194 | 2011 | PDF | 288 pages | 7 MB Since at least 1939, when daily-strip caveman Alley Oop time-traveled to the Trojan War, comics have been drawing (on) material from Greek and Roman myth, literature and history. At times the connection is cosmetic-as perhaps with Wonder Woman's Amazonian heritage-and at times it is almost irrelevant-as with Hercules' starfaring adventures in the 1982 Marvel miniseries. But all of these make implicit or explicit claims about the place of classics in modern literary culture. Classics and Comics is the first book to explore the engagement of classics with the epitome of modern popular literature, the comic book. The volume collects sixteen articles, all specially commissioned for this volume, that look at how classical content is deployed in comics and reconfigured for a modern audience. It opens with a detailed historical introduction surveying the role of classical material in comics since the 1930s. Subsequent chapters cover a broad range of topics, including the incorporation of modern theories of myth into the creation and interpretation of comic books, the appropriation of characters from classical literature and myth, and the reconfiguration of motif into a modern literary medium. Among the well-known comics considered in the collection are Frank Miller's 300 and Sin City, DC Comics' Wonder Woman, Jack Kirby's The Eternals, Neil Gaiman's Sandman, and examples of Japanese manga. The volume also includes an original 12-page "comics-essay," drawn and written by Eisner Award -winning Eric Shanower, creator of the graphic novel series Age of Bronze.

I Await the Devil's Coming English | ISBN: 1612191940 | 2013 | EPUB | 304 pages | 2,1 MB Mary MacLane's I Await the Devil's Coming is a shocking, brave and intellectually challenging diary of a 19-year-old girl living in Butte, Montana in 1902. Written in potent, raw prose that propelled the author to celebrity upon publication, the book has become almost completely forgotten. In the early 20th century, MacLane's name was synonymous with sexuality; she is widely hailed as being one of the earliest American feminist authors, and critics at the time praised her work for its daringly open and confessional style. In its first month of publication, the book sold 100,000 copies -- a remarkable number for a debut author, and one that illustrates MacLane's broad appeal.

Now, with a new foreward written by critic Jessa Crispin, I Await The Devil's Coming stands poised to renew its reputation as one of America's earliest and most powerful accounts of feminist thought and creativity.
