WINE

A few words on our wines… Diverse, fine quality and from around the world – much like our guests to the hotel. Our wines have been carefully curated offering an eclectic selection from around the world and we encourage you to explore the list. Being on the West Highland way, we were drawn to the history of the Don Jacobo range from Bodegas Corral. It is named after the “Ruta Jacobea” or St James’ Way in English, an original pilgrimage route to the shrine of St James the Great at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in northern Spain - now a popular hike and cycling route. We’ve picked an organically produced red Rioja from their bodegas that we know you will enjoy. Another recommendation would be the Paco & Lola Lolo Tree Albarino, a deliciously fresh example from the west coast of Spain. Made by a co-operative of 400 families, this modern take on a traditional wine embraces the fierce Atlantic weather we know so well at Kingshouse, and adds a touch of Spanish flair and sunshine. A perfect alternative to Sauvignon Blanc. Perhaps grown at altitude should be drunk at altitude and that’s why the Familia Zuccardi Brazos Malbec tastes so good here. Grown in the Uco Valley more than 3000 feet above sea level, Zuccardi have been awarded ‘World’s Best Vineyard’, and we think you’ll taste why when you try this team favourite. We’re always here to make recommendations too, just ask. Slanj!
