Become an Online Entrepreneur freedomiseverything.com /2016/05/05/become-an-online-entrepreneur/
Regular jobs are increasingly unappealing, lets look at another option: how to become an online entrepreneur! Hello everyone, following yesterdays post about why regular jobs are becoming less and less appetising, I have decided to follow up in the coming days with some potential alternatives. Today I will discuss how to become an online entrepreneur. The most obvious question: what is an online entrepreneur? The word entrepreneur is defined as ‘someone who solves problems for people for profit or for pay’ I think the word ‘entrepreneur’ scares a lot of people who have worked in a regular job for all or most of their life. The word has connotations of people who create business after business and spend much of their life going from boom to bust and back again. However, this is not the case – an entrepreneur is simply someone who solves problems for other people for profit or for pay. An online entrepreneur is someone who presents solutions to the problems of others and works primarily through the internet. There are many ways to become an online entrepreneur: Create content online (blogs, videos, artwork etc) and sell it online Start an online coaching consultancy Create teaching materials based around one or more of your passions or skills Write books or ebooks and sell them on Amazon or from a website Sell someone else’s stuff through multi-level marketing or affiliate marketing Online training programmes in one or more fields of expertise
But how do I start to become an online entrepreneur? Leaving your job and starting an online business takes bravery and guts, no doubt about it. For many of us (myself included), it is a huge leap of faith. It can be particularly daunting if you have no real online skills. In fact, I actually started a blog prior to this one and found that there was far too much that I did not know or understand about the online world. This is why I recommend (unless you have either a lot of time or a lot of money) two things to help you become an online entrepreneur at the start: Join an affiliate marketing programme which offers training and mentorship Start your business part-time if you are currently employed and money is tight By ‘money is tight’ I mean that if you left your job you would not have enough money to maintain your current living standard for at least 4-6 months. That is how long it can take, even working full-time, to see results in the online world.
