Welcome from the SAAC President Welcome everyone to this edition of the Chinook Classic Angus Sale. As always, an affordable source of top quality Angus genetics from some of the breed’s leading breeders. Heifer calves and bred females with popular pedigrees and breed-leading EPD’s. What a great time to infuse some new blood into the herd. The cattle market has never been this high with no sign of weakening in the forseeable future. Those junior breeders looking for a 4-H project, the Chinook sale is always a major source of high end heifer calves. The Southern Alberta Angus Club supports many junior programs including a 10% discount on one animal per junior purchase. So come on down to the Taber Agri-Plex on October 29 and check out the tremendous selection of Red and Black Angus females. Enjoy the complimentary supper and take home some of the very best Angus genetics money can buy. Welcome from Bouchard Livestock International Welcome to the 28th Annual Chinook Classic Angus Sale. Twenty eight years running alone proves the success of this sale, and this year’s quality is again outstanding. When visiting the consigners to select for this sale we probably seen the best overall cattle herds in general that we have seen for years. Everyone is very conscience of producing top quality Angus, and with commercial pricing being high they are using this opportunity to cull hard. This sale will definitely give you an opportunity to add top quality genetics to your replacement pen. Optimism is extremely high and the anticipation for this long running sale is building. Consignments will be available for viewing all day on Wednesday and a chance to meet and visit with all consignors. New this year we are excited to be broadcasting on the internet with DLMS. As always, the Bouchard Livestock team will also be available for phone bidding or to discuss any of the sale offering with you. Be sure to join everyone for the supper at 5:00 compliments of the Southern Alberta Angus Club. We look forward to seeing you on the 29th. See you there, Doug Domolewski

This is a very well balanced, moderate heifer that we are proud to enter into the sale and the futurity. Her maternal sister was the second place winner of the futurity in 2012. Sire by our All Star bull, proven for his development of great feet and udders, and averaging 85lb birth weights on the bulls and 80lbs on the heifers. This little girl fits that mold with a 78lb birth weight and is very well proportioned. The mother is a very stable cow that has raised us 7 calves, 3 females the oldest which is still in our herd, and the second sold at the Chinook Sale in 2011. Tarissa will be a fantastic futurity heifer to play with and then go on to be a great herd cow with longevity. This heifer belongs to Stacey, and she was a little reluctant to give her up, however the decision to go back to University was the deciding factor. She is a very fancy, feminine heifer with lots of length and muscle shape. The dam is a past 4-H project that has helped pay many school bills for Stacey. She was shown at the World Angus Forum in 2009 and was a gold medal winner. Her sire SAV004 Density 4336 females are truly great. The combination of genetics in this heifer has powerful maternal strengths, which is a priority at DeLar. I felt it would be very fitting to breed this heifer to Red Crow Foot Moonshine 8081U. LNS 54A genomic performance traits are impressive. Faleena is a long-bodied, smooth-made heifer calf. The fist thing that Doug noticed when picking heifers, is that she was the only ‘right’ color in the herd! I haven’t quite agreed with him on that note yet, but the color of hair doesn’t matter with a female so well put together like 151B! On her top side is an easy-doing, easy-calving grower RED U-2 INFINITE 408P. Red K Lazy T Faleena 51S is from one of the original Shoderee cows purchased when we started into the purebreds! A top junior prospect, 157B will be sure to catch the judge’s eye. Soft made and correct with plenty of hair to style, she is sired by a Redman son, we were well pleased with what he was generating so saw a lot more action at breeding season this spring. Her dam has always been solid producer. Dam: RLH 3R

World renowned Red Lazy M C Smash 41N was also out of a Youngblood daughter, Red Lauron YB Rosa 11G. 87B holds her own among her contemporaries; pretty as a picture in her a deep cherry red coat that adds to her appeal. Wow! Red Lauron Blackbird 22B is a soft-made, deep auburn sweetheart. Her dam is a hard working Detour daughter that put her heart and soul into her impressive first calf. Production is a trait that runs very deep in this cow family and the evidence here is obvious. Grand dam, 74X, has accompanied Jared to the Denver show ring. This heifer has been a standout from day one. We have retained many heifers from this dam over the years as her calves are very consistent and rise to the top very easily. This female has lots of length of body, great confirmation, is extremely feminine and is full of performance. The dam has always raised heifers that have lots of milk, good udder structure and are very docile. The sire goes back to Diamond T Hardcopy and MVF Tibbie 57P, which is one of the strongest cows we have ever owned. We used the Copyright bull for a few years with great success. In hindsight, we should have used him for a couple more. If you are looking for a replacement heifer or one for the show pen, take a look here you won’t be disappointed! Here is another Primrose heifer that has a little different pedigree. We purchased her dam at this sale last year as a bred heifer and thought it would be neat if we brought this fancy heifer to town. Kody can’t say enough about the heifers out of this Chisum bull. She is very longbodied, correct and fancy. The dam has done a great job on her first calf. She has lots of milk with perfect udder structure, which should be passed on to this offering. The dam goes back to HF Tiger 5T, which is a bull that has helped change the Angus industry over the past few years. This heifer is a powerful female that would place high in any show ring.
