Welcome to Önling Önling is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and we design Nordic designs for handknitting. We produce our own yarns according to sustainable principles in a family-run spinning mill in Italy. When you shop at Önling, you do not need to worry about yardage, gauge, yarn quality or amounts, as we sell custom-made yarn kits for all designs, where the pattern is included. We have made it easy to shop, as you only need to choose design and color for your kit – we do the rest. We design for both new and experienced knitters. Our name means favorite in Danish. Just to prove that our ambition of designing your favorite knitwear, is something we take quite seriously. High quality knitting for baby with sustainable yarn At Önling we prioritize environ mentally friendly yarns just as much as classic design Knitting for your baby is a bit like making homemade food for your baby. You know you get a completely clean product, only filled with love and good intentions. You know the ingredients and know that no hazardous chemicals or additives are included. This is also the case with Önling’s yarns, which are produced at a family-run yarn spinning mill in Italy according to organic and sustainable standards. The yarn is sustainably produced and meets organic standards with the following certificates: Defra Animal Welfare, Caregora (angora), NWD integrity program (wool) / Sustainawool, TF Traceability & Fashion / Tessile & Saltute / REACH, Origine Preferenziale / Preferential Origin. Wool is a renewable material, and all our wool can be traced all the way back to the individual sheep on the individual field. Our suppliers can vouch for the welfare of the animals and of course all our wool is mulesing-free (so the sheep is not hurt during shearing).
Knitting is love on needles When you knit for your child and baby, love goes into both the choice of design, finding the best and softest yarn as well as in every single stitch that you knit. This contributes to making the finished garment very special, as it is made specifically for your baby and completely according to your wishes. But for it to really become part of you and your baby’s favorite wardrobe, we believe that the ingredients are just as important as the end result. The yarn for your baby should be soft and durable and it should not be filled with harmful chemicals. Therefore, you should always look for yarns that are sustainable and organic. When wool is used for hand knitting, it becomes sustainable in its very own way. When you produce your new favorite garment with your own hands and knitting needles, it happens with minimal impact on the environment. Completely without emissions from production and pollution from packaging and transportation. And the lifespan of beautiful clothing produced by yourself is very long. At Önling we focus on doing the right thing in every step of our supply chain, from producing sustainable yarns in Europe, to using recycled shipping bags and only printing on cradle-to-cradle certified paper.
Önling only uses clean and natural materials of the highest quality, hereunder GOTS certified wool and cotton, deadstock materials and FSC certified products.

We have made it easy to find the right knitting project
Yarn kits are available for all our designs, meaning you only have to choose color and size, to avoid common mistakes in yarn quantity, gauge and quality. Patterns are always delivered digitally and you can build up your own pattern library to revisit your patterns at any time.
Four times a year we launch new, inspirational knitting boxes, containing exclusive patterns and yarns as well as extra gifts and surprises. You always save between 25-30% on a knitting box, compared to buying the contents separately.

Önling No 15
Soft and durable merino yarn. Great for kindergarten garments, leggings / pants that must withstand crawling, playing and dirt. Can be machine washed on a wool program. Gauge 21-24 m / 10 cm (4”) 191 yards (175 m) pr. 50 grams US needle size 2.5-6 (3-4 mm)

Light and soft merino wool that is absolutely itch free. Works well for cardigans, blankets and hats to keep your baby warm and cozy. A great yarn for cables and lace patterns Gauge 21-24 m / 10 cm (4”) 131 yard (120 meter) pr. 25 grams US needle size 4-6 (3.5-4 mm)

Warm and incredibly soft yarn consisting of angora and merino. Great for warm sweaters and cardigans ttokeep your child warm. A luxury yarn that works with many designs. Gauge 18-21 m / 10 cm (4”) 197 yards (180 meter) pr. 50 grams US needle size 6-8 (4-5 mm)
