Extracurriculars The school spirit at Mount de Sales Academy is evidenced by three characteristics: mutual respect, personal responsibility, and support for one another and for the school as a whole. These qualities help to build and nurture a sense of belonging for every Mount de Sales girl. Each student’s contribution is valued as important in passing on the spirit of Mount de Sales Academy. While our students are given every opportunity to explore and unlock their talents in the classroom, Sailors are also encouraged to discover their gifts and develop their interests by participating in one or more extracurricular activities. Joining a club at Mount de Sales Academy is one of the best ways for a Sailor to become an involved and contributing member of the Mount de Sales family, while also meeting and making new friends in a fun environment! Many clubs at Mount de Sales Academy are student-founded. Every club maintains a faculty or staff moderator who serves as a mentor to the club members and facilitator of club activities.

Service Charity is the greatest of all virtues, and we encourage every member of the Mount de Sales Academy community to give of herself in order to draw closer to the heart of Christ. While all students are required to earn service hours in their religion classes, Sailors far exceed their quotas. The student body earned 18,000 service hours in the 2013-2014 school year alone! The Campus Ministry Office gives students the opportunity to serve others inside the MDSA community, the surrounding region, and beyond our borders through a variety of service projects. Our students serve a variety of populations, including the homeless, the elderly, the unborn, members of the U.S. military and those with disabilities. •
