“I love teaching at a Catholic school because our faith is fundamental to absolutely everything we do in life and, while being able to express myself is personally freeing, being able to work with students as they grow into their faith is humbling. A Catholic school is a good work environment to be surrounded by faithful, fun, loving followers of Christ. - Kathy Norwood

We
♥ our Volunteers
Dedicated volunteers Thank you! Where would the Colleen and Erin Scholarship Fund be today if it were not for our very dedicated volunteers? It has been eleven years since Colleen and Erin were so tragically taken from us and eleven years since the Scholarship fund has been assisting teachers in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The Fund has awarded over $350,000 in scholarships for Baltimore high schools and for The University of Maryland College Park. This would not have been possible without our volunteers. We are so blessed to be a part of a large, loving family, a family that knows how to work together. We depend on Colleen’s and Erin’s aunts and uncles, great aunts, cousins, and friends
Uncle John Scarzello With his engineering skills, he can hang the Colleen and Erin Scholarship Banner for any venue; all he needs is a little string! Uncle John always knows exactly what needs to be done. Marlene Marlatt Haslam Colleen and Erin’s cousin has generously and expertly chaired the Shamrock Open for the past 10 years.

to help make our fund raising successful. In addition, the members of our Board of Directors, our friends, and colleagues consistently lend a hand at the golf course in the spring for The Shamrock Open or in the fall at the Ten Oaks Ballroom for The Wine Tasting. They pitch-in and do whatever is needed

to ensure the success of each fundraiser from organizing the events, to decorating, to welcoming, to handing out wine glasses or golf umbrellas, etc.! In addition to our two annual fund raisers, our volunteers have also helped with Art Auctions, Guest Bartending nights at various local establishments, and the Columbia Iron Girl Triathlon. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers and supporters for these last eleven years remembering Colleen and Erin.
“I felt honored and blessed to be the recipient of such an award. The Colleen and Erin Marlatt Scholarship afforded me many opportunities that I may not have otherwise been given. I graduated as one of the three Archdiocesan distinguished scholars in my high school class and received many awards in academics, music and philanthropy, including being a Carson Scholar.”- Stephanie Diegel, 2003 Scholarship recipient 4
SPECIAL THANKS: Monsignor Joseph Luca Monsignor Luca was with us the night that Colleen and Erin died and has been with us supporting the Scholarship since its inception. He has always been an untiring advocate for Catholic Education and continues to contribute his wisdom and guidance as a member of The Scholarship Board of Directors.

"For me, teaching in a Catholic school is a celebration of faith, fellowship, and family. I feel blessed to be acquainted with the Marlatt family through my position at Mount de Sales Academy where I teach with Pat in the English Department. Her warmth and enthusiasm for teaching and sharing her knowledge has been an inspiration to me. Because of the wonderful people, I love working in the Catholic school system, and there is nowhere else I would rather be." - Helen Hufford
