Our way forward, together towards more sustainable logistics
Welcome to “Our way forward”, the sustainability report for Greencarrier Freight Services. As the title gives away, this report does not only attempt to summarize what we have achieved so far – but above all it lays the foundation for our ambitions and goals going forward.
For me, sustainability is about balance. For instance, balance between making things more sustainable while staying relevant in our offer to our customers. It’s not about making sacrifices – but rather about evolution and making things smarter and better. It’s essentially about the ability to use the worlds resources wisely, and at the same time be able to offer a competitive solution to the market. This needs to be done in collaboration with all stakeholders involved in our services and offer. Making logistics more sustainable means that we must think in new ways and challenge old mindsets, our own as well as others’. But one thing is certain – that’s something we at Greencarrier Freight Services really thrive in doing! It is our strong ambition to be in the forefront of innovative and sustainable logistics, and our vision is clear: To become top of mind for sustainable logistics solutions. A year of change and supply chain disruptions 2021 was an extremely exciting year for us. Business was excelling, despite many global challenges that we handle each day. Notable was that both our Customer Satisfactions score and our Employee Engagement scores reached an all-time high, as did our turnover of +550MEUR. We continued, together with our customers to refine our sustainable offers to the market and are ready to stay relevant for the long-term. We were also warmly welcomed into JAS Worldwide, which has been our partner for a long time and since November 1st our new owners. This means that we are now part of a global logistics group with presence in more than 50 countries and more than 6000 employees. Our offer will be stronger, while we still stay the experts here in Greencarrier Freight Services home markets. Together with JAS we will continue to have a strong focus on providing more sustainable logistics solutions to our customers, helping them to make good decisions and reducing their emissions. 6
Customer in focus Our customers mean everything to us, building personal bonds and creating long term relations with our customers had always been our hallmark. To stay relevant we always need to be on top of their needs and also challenge them to improve together with us. In 2021 we launched a strategic initiative called Customer Care – The Greencarrier Way. This initiative is basically about making the customer journey even better and in the process we have collected input from clients and involved our employees in sharing good initiatives suggestions. We believe that experienced and passionate employees will make all the difference also in the future, and in turn ensure excellent customer care People make the difference In our new owner we have a strong common mindset: People Make the Difference. This is nothing new to us, it is something that we truly live by, and it is also part of why our companies are such a great cultural match. Our business is essentially all about the people and relationships. Our people make great things happen each day, and I am so proud of the amazing staff we have within Greencarrier Freight Services. This mindset is something that we will continue to build on together with JAS Worldwide. We want to be the best place to work, now and in the future.
Looking forward Looking ahead into 2022 and beyond I can see that the logistics industry is needed more than ever and that functioning supply chains is on every company’s priority list. There are so many uncertainties in the world, and conditions change each day. As an expert in logistics, we are used to this and it’s in our DNA to be flexible, agile, and creative. Each day our knowledgeable employees ensure that our global, and local, value chains run smoothly. And each day we challenge ourselves to also do it in a more sustainable way. The development is moving rapidly, and so will we. This is our fifth sustainability report, a report that will give you a greater understanding of what sustainability means to us and how we work towards our vision of being top of mind for sustainable logistics solutions. I’m both extremely proud of what we have achieved within Greencarrier Freight Services so far, but mostly I’m excited about our many opportunities ahead.
