Participants will learn how to make shape books, pop ups books, accordion books, and Flag books. Ages 5-12 Step into the Mad Science Winter Wonderlab and watch a snowman sublimate before your very eyes as we explore the 3 states of matter! We will tinker with technology and learn the science behind some of our favorite toys! Kids will learn about polymers and make their own Mad Science Super Ball ornament! Project Runway
Ages 8-14 Make it a full day! Registrants may enroll in morning or afternoon camp at same location and lunch care. Save money and express your own style. Design clothing using sewing patterns and learn sewing safety tips and stitching techniques by hand and with machine. Sewing machines provided for each two students. Learn to read patterns to make clothing and more. With five days of designing garments, cutting fabric and threading bobbins under their (very chic) belts, campers will rock the runway and get to strut their styles down the catwalk of the very special Friday Fashion Showcase. Modeling their own creations, campers show them off to friends and family at this lively event. Students will receive a supply list at the first day of class. Maximum challenge, maximum fun! Week I: The campers will plan and develop a kid-friendly holiday-related attraction, decide what it should look like and create it out of cardboard and other materials. It could be a zoo, a toy factory, an arcade, an interactive museumwhatever ends up being formed and shaped by the campers! Week II: For the love of BRICKS: Does your child love bricks? Legos, Megablocks and such? We will pack our days with brick-inspired crafts, cooking, games and songs! The younger camp will have similar activities as Camp Max but will be appropriate for the younger age and more cooperative in nature. Both groups will join together for morning kick-off and group cheers and day’s end for the afternoon ‘after burn’ huddle. Bring a lunch! Indoor Sports Jam is the perfect way to spend the holiday with your friends! ISJ is a Full Day or Half Day option sports camp and is a fun way to play a variety of sports with friends throughout the day and to meet new friends, while jammin’ to music! Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Soccer, Kickball, Baseball, and Dodgeball are just some of the sports we will play. Come enjoy the holiday weeks of great sports fun with our friendly staff! Children are split up by ages and skill level. We will also have an arts ‘n’ craft portion of the day and watch a movie for about 30 mins/per day/per AM and PM session. Ultimate Holiday Sports Camp

How will your child spend their Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks? Have them spend it with us. The Ultimate Sports Camp is held at Central Park, which allows us to utilize everything that the park has to offer, to put together a fantastic learning experience for all campers. Ultimate Sports Camp is best suited for beginner to intermediate level campers, but our staff has the necessary experience and training to challenge campers of all ability levels. Staff will teach traditional sports and non-traditional games that improve coordination and cardio fitness. For the younger age group, the camp is an introduction to T-Ball, Soccer, Hockey, Flag Football and Basketball. Our junior campers will be taught the basic skills of each sport through games and practice drills. Most importantly, kids will meet new friends and have fun. All equipment is provided. Bring a water bottle, and wear appropriate athletic shoes. There are no extended care options for the half day camp. With years of experience in Junior Golf Camps, our instructors and assistants provide a fun atmosphere for learning the golf swing fundamentals, sportsmanship, rules and etiquette. By the end of camp, your child will know how to play golf safely and with noticeable improvement. Registration includes NCGA membership for all students into the YOUTH ON COURSE program. If you need to rent clubs, please contact the golf course directly at 510-790-1919 to make necessary arrangements. Club rentals are available for $25 per week. Join City Beach for the adventure camp of a lifetime! Our expert Camp Counselors provide a fun and safe environment for your child to learn and grow with an emphasis on fun. They will climb in our world class indoor Rock Gym (no experience necessary), participate in kid-friendly facilitated games and activities, and build self-esteem and lasting friendships. City Beach will make sure your child can’t wait to jump in the car in the morning, and we’ll be here to greet them! Activities include: rock climbing, air hockey, basketball, volleyball, facilitated games, foosball, billiards, ping pong, ropes course, crafts, badminton, bocce ball, and more! Healthy snacks and t-shirts provided. All day participants will need to pack a lunch or have the option of purchasing an additional, healthy meal plan through City Beach. Upon successful completion, students will receive a DMV-approved certificate of completion (OL237) via mail of their choice. Academy
Ages 5-18 Lacrosse has been called the fastest game on two feet. So come check out the fastest growing sport in the United States. The Fremont Lacrosse Academy provides a fun and instructive course that has been designed by Santa Clara University Lacrosse Coach Greg Mengis. Coach Mengis and his certified and experienced group of lacrosse instructors will coach the academy participants to help develop fundamental lacrosse skills such as passing, catching, shooting, and scooping ground balls. Lacrosse Academy is a great way to try out the game for the first time, or to warm up your skills to prep for the spring lacrosse seasons! This course is for both boys and girls, and all basic equipment is provided. Players will also receive a Fremont Lacrosse T-shirt to keep for their participation. Make sure to bring water.

Ages 4-6 This science enrichment class is designed especially for young children between the ages of 4-6 years old. Through a variety of exciting lessons, we will sparks excitement in your preschooler or kindergartner by introducing them to the wonderful world of science. These classes will support vocabulary development, math, literacy, creativity, investigation, and many other important skills as we engage in fun, hands-on, educational science experiments. Ages 3-6 This class combines the nationally acclaimed Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read program in a language rich environment with language play (songs, word games, rhymes etc.) and storybooks. CANCELLATIONS The Community Services Department reserves the right to cancel a class for any reasonable cause. Should this happen, your fee will be refunded in full or you may transfer to any open class. NON-RESIDENT FEES For persons not residing in Fremont, the fee is $5 in addition to the published fee per class. SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT Seniors (Ages 60+) receive a 10% discount on all classes except those designated for seniors. Requests for withdrawals/transfers must be made in writing via email, fax, in person, or our online form.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The City of Fremont and many local business and organizations have funded a grant program, which provides financial assistance for Fremont Residents. For information regarding eligibility for reduced fees, please call (510) 494-4300. All requests are kept confidential. If you are paying at the door, your parent will need to sign you in as proof you are in 6th grade and live in or attend a school in Fremont. School dress codes must be followed.
