Based on the wildly popular iPhone App-Bartleby’s Book of Buttons, this fun and educational camp will feature daily adventures where children will unlock the mysteries of nature and Central Park. Kids will solve puzzles, learn about the local natural wonders of Fremont and Central Park, and set out on daily adventures in order to earn Ranger Badges toward building a lifetime love and understanding of nature. Using a combination of mechanical, electrical and software engineering, learn how to design, assemble and program your first Arduino projects. Discover how to use controllers to operate lights, motors and more. Our program encourages elementary school children to dress up and play as they explore the exciting world of nursing. Using interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids learn how the body works and how to use instruments that real nurses use. Small classes are led by a trained Little Nursing School instructor to ensure individual attention. Each child receives a diploma as a graduate of Little Nursing School upon completion of the course. Python Coding Camp: Creating TextBased & Graphical Game Ages 10-14 For more information, call (510) 791-4318

Learn how to program in Python® by creating text-based games, such as number and logic games, interesting art and animations, and an interactive arcade-style game. You will learn how to construct text and images on the screen, prompt users for input, generate calculations, use variables and loops, and more! Python® is the perfect language for learning computer programming because it is easy to understand and widely used and valued. In our class, we will work with the most important constructs of the Python language, learning about functions, arrays, conditional statements, and objects. No prior programming experience is required, but comfort and familiarity with typing is suggested. Begin your journey towards becoming a Jedi Master in this all-new Star Wars camp! Train like Luke Skywalker and wear Jedi cloaks, practice lightsaber techniques, and use ‘blasters’ to hone your shooting skills. Use these skills to find and save Princess Leia from the Evil Empire, battle Storm Troopers and Darth Vader, and escape the Death Star. Padawans (Jedi-in-training) will learn how to work together and learn the importance of teamwork. At the end of the week, Padawans will partake in Jedi graduation. May the Force be with you! Maximum challenge, maximum fun! Week I: The campers will plan and develop a kid-friendly holiday-related attraction, decide what it should look like and create it out of cardboard and other materials. It could be a zoo, a toy factory, an arcade, an interactive museumwhatever ends up being formed and shaped by the campers! Week II: For the love of BRICKS: Does your child love bricks? Legos, Megablocks and such? We will pack our days with brick-inspired crafts, cooking, games and songs! The younger camp will have similar activities as Camp Max but will be appropriate for the younger age and more cooperative in nature. Holiday Indoor Sports Jam

Ages 5-12

Indoor Sports Jam is the perfect way to spend the holiday with your friends! ISJ is a Full Day or Half Day option sports camp and is a fun way to play a variety of sports with friends throughout the day and to meet new friends, while jammin’ to music! Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Soccer, Kickball, Baseball, and Dodgeball are just some of the sports we will play. Come enjoy the holiday weeks of great sports fun with our friendly staff! Children are split up by ages and skill level. We will also have an arts ‘n’ craft portion of the day and watch a movie for about 30 mins/per day/per AM and PM session. How will your child spend their Thanksgiving Break? Have them spend it with us. The Ultimate Sports Camp is held at Central Park, which allows us to utilize everything that the park has to offer, to put together a fantastic learning experience for all campers. Ultimate Sports Camp is best suited for beginner to intermediate level campers, but our staff has the necessary experience and training to challenge campers of all ability levels. Staff will teach traditional sports and non traditional games that improve coordination and cardio fitness. This full day camp will include field trips to Fremont Park Golf and Practice Center and Fremont animal shelter. For the half day, bring water and a snack. With years of experience in Junior Golf Camps, our instructors and assistants provide a fun atmosphere for learning the golf swing fundamentals, sportsmanship, rules and etiquette. By the end of camp, your child will know how to play golf safely and with noticeable improvement. Registration includes NCGA membership for all students into the YOUTH ON COURSE program. If you need to rent clubs, please contact the golf course directly at 510-790-1919 to make necessary arrangements. Are you looking for morning and/or afternoon options for your child? We offer extended care options for most of our camps. Qualified staff with provide a variety of games and activities. Extend your child’s camp by registering for the AM, PM, or even both!

Central Park – Teen Center

Ages 5-12

Responsible staff will either walk or drive children to / from any City of Fremont camp in Central Park. A variety of activities will be provided. This extended care is for our school break camps that are located at the Teen Center, Central Park Visitor Center, Fremont Community Center, and Nature Learning Center/Clean Water Classroom.

This course is an interactive, educational online course with the latest in animation, video and web technology. It sets the foundation for behind-the-wheel driver’s training and is in accordance with the guidelines set by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. It covers the rules of the road, freeway driving, motorcycle and pedestrian safety, major causes of traffic collisions, alcohol & drugs, and much more. Upon successful completion, students will receive a DMV-approved certificate of completion (OL237) via mail of their choice. A $10 per class withdrawal fee will be deducted from your refund. Please allow up to four weeks for receipt of refund by check. TRANSFER POLICY Transfers are allowed up to three business days prior to the start of the class. There is no charge for this service.

CANCELLATIONS The Community Services Department reserves the right to cancel a class for any reasonable cause. Should this happen, your fee will be refunded in full or you may transfer to any open class. NON-RESIDENT FEES For persons not residing in Fremont, the fee is $5 in addition to the published fee per class. SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT Seniors (Ages 60+) receive a 10% discount on all classes except those designated for seniors. Requests for withdrawals/transfers must be made in writing via email, fax, in person, or our online form.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The City of Fremont and many local business and organizations have funded a grant program, which provides financial assistance for Fremont Residents. For information regarding eligibility for reduced fees, please call (510) 494-4300. All requests are kept confidential. Should you or your business wish to contribute to this scholarship program, call (510) 494-4300. Donations are tax deductible.
