Create three-dimensional art projects, both practical and artistic! You will learn handcrafted ceramic techniques while sculpting figures and pots. Build using slab procedures including scoring and slip techniques. Create vases and free forms using coil techniques. Pottery will be medium-fired with use of white clay and non-toxic glazes. This Storybook cooking class will focus on a favorite book from children’s literature. In a small, intimate setting, the stories we read will inspire the recipes the kids learn to cook. Through hands on cooking, participants will learn how to follow directions, measure, mix and learn kitchen safety, manners and etiquette. Please let instructor know of any food allergies. This hands-on cooking series offers participants an opportunity to develop skills throughout the school-year. Students will learn about food and cooking safety while developing their cooking skills. Participants learn to write grocery lists, organize inventory, prep for cooking projects and clean up. They will end the session with the knowledge and confidence to cook for family and friends. Fall I-Basic Baking; Fall II-Everything But The Turkey; December-Holiday Cookies; Winter I-Simple Suppers; Winter II-Breakfast and Brunch; Spring-Desserts. This level focuses on learning the foundational skills that newcomers need to develop in order to become confident while riding in the skatepark environment. Entry level riders will learn: Safety Techniques, Balancing on board, Correct Foot Placement, Turning & Navigation, Stopping the board and Skatepark Etiquette All new riders receive hands-on assistance as they are taught effective techniques for foot placement, balance, navigation, stopping and how to fall safely.
