SAT PREP: Math An in-depth review of all 4 math content categories covered by the SAT. This class can also help students review/re-learn all the important math concepts that should be mastered for future math classes. Sample problems - multiple choice, ‘grid-ins’, & extended thinking - will be demonstrated in class. 5 practice exam sections will be given & graded in this class, and personalized feedback will be given to the students. This class also prepares students for the PSAT. College admissions requirements & target score strategies will be discussed. No material fee - FULL SET of handouts (strategy sheets, practice tests, homework, & some class notes) included in class fee. Please bring pencils, paper, & a calculator to each class. Warm Springs After School Care and Homework This unique program provides staff-supervised pick up from Leitch and Warm Springs Elementary School, allowing for a smooth transition from school activities to a dedicated space for daily homework assistance. Experienced and enthusiastic staff monitors homework and provides students quality help when needed. The care and homework support is offered in a structured and nurturing environment providing an opportunity for your child to thrive both academically and emotionally through our well-structured daily curriculum, nutritious snacks, outdoor supervised recess, and fun activities at the Warm Springs Community Center. 278185

KENDO “The Way of the Sword” KENDO is rooted in the sword fighting techniques of the ancient Japanese warrior ‘SAMURAI.’ The martial art conditions the body and mind through traditional physical and spiritual training, ignites continuous self-improvement, and forges a warrior spirit to conquer adversity. For more information, call (510) 494-4318. BEGINNER (6:00PM-7:00PM) Learn the fundamental body movements and characteristics of Kendo. Material fee of $35 for Shinai (Bamboo sword) and a bag is due at first class. Uniform is not required. Wear comfortable clothes. No class 11/11; 1/20; 2/17; 4/13. ADVANCED (7:10PM-9:00PM) This is for experienced Kendo practitioners who have either completed the Beginner class or are able to demonstrate proficiency in the fundamentals of Kendo. Skateboarding Lessons-Intermediate Level The Intermediate class is for skaters who have a solid understanding of the foundational mainstays of skateboarding. They are proficient in all the beginner level skills and can now ride and navigate the flat areas of the skatepark with ease and confidence. In this class, riders will enhance their navigation skills while learning how to utilize ramps & embankments, along with learning how to pump transition, and eventually drop in bowls and ramps.
