PARKS MAKE LIFE BETTER! Did you know that Fremont has over 50 parks for public use? Along with the popular Eastbay Regional Park District parks such as Quarry Lakes or Coyote Hills, there are trails such as Sabercat Creek Trail that allow users great views of nature. One of our most popular parks in Fremont would have to be Central Park; park users can walk around the 2.2 mile, 83-acre lake known as Lake Elizabeth. Regardless of which area of Fremont you live in or visit, there is sure to be a park or trail nearby for everyone to enjoy. Look for a park or trail that’s right for you at Fremont.gov/Parks. The City is creating a new Parks and Recreation Master Plan (Master Plan) which will guide park development and recreation services for the next 15 years, and we would like your input about what you would like to see offered. Visit InventFremontParks.com.
Make your workout fun by listening to your favorite music or podcast. Meditation is a form of mental exercise.

This is a great recipe if you live with hungry kids or like to have meals prepared ahead of time. If you think you hate veggie burgers, it's probably because you've never had a fresh one. Serves 4-8. INGREDIENTS (1) 15oz can of no-salt added black beans, rinsed and drained (1) 15oz can tomatoes with zesty mild chilies, drained (1) garlic clove chopped (2) scallions chopped (1) cup carrots, finely chopped (1) cup parsley or cilantro (no stems) (1) tsp onion powder (2) cups quick rolled oats (8) whole grain buns Fresh veggie toppings + healthy condiments Preheat oven to 450°F. In a food processor, add the first 7 ingredients and pulse to combine. Remove contents into a large bowl and stir in oats. Form into patties, place on a non-stick baking sheet, and bake for 8 minutes. Turn oven up to broil and cook for 2 more minutes until the tops are nicely browned. Toast the buns and pile on your favorite toppings. Tip: Bond with your kids by cooking together. Little ones love getting messy and making the patties.
No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch.
