Organic Kids!

George and Clara, owners of the historic Patterson House located at Ardenwood Farm visited many places in the United States like the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair and met people from around the world more than a century ago. Later on, Clara circled the globe and saw many lands in person on her travels. Learn about art, games, music from those foreign lands that the Pattersons witnessed firsthand. We will prepare several food dishes from places like China, India, Egypteach week will feature different countries’ specialties. Each week has new activities!

Camp STEaM is a fun and interactive way to exercise your mind and body. This duel energized camp keeps the children engaged on learning and having fun with games. This camp will touch the basics of STEaM with introductions to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. We will incorporate great and easy to do activities and projects to STEaMulate their brain. We will also spend some quality time outside to enjoy some much needed activity to play for a portion of the day. We even mix in some Arts ‘n Crafts to the week. How can you go wrong!! No class on 7/4.

Instructed and designed by our very own Central Park Rangers, students will participate in hands- on activities developed to encourage environmental appreciation and safety during any outdoor experience. Some curriculum based on the California State Education Standards, with emphasis on natural science, local history, ecology, bio-diversity, and general outdoor concepts. Read through our titles and pick a few to register for. Every Tuesday we go to the Aqua Adventure water park so pack your swim suit! Bring a lunch every day.

Exactly what roamed the Fremont area during the Ice Age? Here’s your chance to get an in-depth look at what dominated the landscape during this era. We’ll incorporate outdoor projects with indoor projects to see how Saber Cats, wooly mammoths, sloths, camels and others were able to survive and thrive. This camp will give kids a chance to go back in time with a field trip to the ever-popular Natural History Museum.

Aqua Camp pairs aquatic activities with games, and arts and crafts to keep your kids active and engaged this summer. Each week this summer will have a fun and exciting theme to go along with lunch, snack, and camp t-shirt. Trained lifeguards on duty at all times. Participants must be comfortable in the water. Life jackets will be provided, with a heavy emphasis on water safety. Please send your camper with a swimsuit (NO ZIPPERS or GROMMETS), a towel, pair of tennis shoes, change of clothes, sunscreen, and a water bottle.

There are no refunds for missed classes and make-up classes are not available. Lunch, Snack, and T-Shirt now included in camp fee!

Let’s have fun learning to ‘hack’ a solution to a problem or make a fun craft using odds-and-ends of common household objects, duct tape and other fun things. Have you seen the famous Rube Goldberg contraptions that make something happen? A Rube Goldberg apparatus is a deliberately over-engineered or overdone machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction. We are going to look at some basic machines and techniques (like an animal trap or a toaster) and figure a way to improve it. Everything will be safe and well thought out as we will engineer that into the solution. This is going to be some fun!

Come enjoy a week of Sports and swimming at Central Park. In the morning campers will learn and improve their skills through drills and fun games with our fun an energetic staff. Staff will be made up of local high school and college sports talent. After lunch campers will make a daily trip to the Aqua Adventure Water Park.

Bring water, sunscreen, lunch, snack, towel, change of clothes for the water park. Please wear athletic clothing, athletic shoes and any other appropriate sports equipment specific to that week’s sport.

Junior Golf Camp

With years of experience in Junior Golf Camps, our instructors/assistants provide a fun atmosphere for learning golf swing fundamentals, sportsmanship, rules and etiquette. By the end of camp, your child will know how to play golf safely with noticeable improvement. Registration includes NCGA membership for all students into the YOUTH ON COURSE program. If you need to rent clubs, please contact the golf course directly at 510-320-5333 to make necessary arrangements. Equipment fee of $25 per week, is due at the course the first day of camp. Campers may also be registered for Start-Up Care from 8-9 a.m. and/or Extended Care from 3-6:30 p.m. Please note: Full day campers play the course daily from about 1-2:30 p.m. and should bring a lunch. Bring water and wear sunscreen.

Rock Climbing is a great activity for kids to burn off some of their extra energy while staying active during summer months! Rock climbing helps promotes physical awareness, self-confidence, discipline, and responsibility. The primary focus of our camp is based on technical training, goal setting, and breaking barriers within and outside of climbing. Our campers will learn climbing skills such as belaying (10+ years old), climbing safety, bouldering, and basic technique. All campers will be provided with a one of a kind Peak carabiner upon completion of camp! Additionally, there will be a 15minute snack break each day. A fruit/vegetable snack will be provided.

Designed by professional skateboarder Jordan Richter, camps focus on skill building, goal setting, fun and camaraderie. Students work through fun and challenging activities, earn badges and move up levels as skills and confidence grow. Half day camp is strictly skateboarding, while full day camp also goes fishing, boating, pizza party, and a trip to Aqua Adventure waterpark! A $10 per class withdrawal fee will be deducted from your refund. Please allow up to four weeks for receipt of refund by check.

TRANSFER POLICY Transfers are allowed up to three business days prior to the start of the class. There is no charge for this service.

CANCELLATIONS The Community Services Department reserves the right to cancel a class for any reasonable cause. Should this happen, your fee will be refunded in full or you may transfer to any open class.

NON-RESIDENT FEES For persons not residing in Fremont, the fee is $5 in addition to the published fee per class.

SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT Seniors (Ages 60+) receive a 10% discount on all classes except those designated for seniors.

Requests for withdrawals/transfers must be made in writing via email, fax, in person, or our online form.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The City of Fremont and many local business and organizations have funded a grant program, which provides financial assistance for Fremont Residents. For information regarding eligibility for reduced fees, please call (510) 494-4300.
