Over the last million years, the natural beauty of Fremont has been shaped by the Hayward Fault. Math Science Nucleus instructors will lead ‘ground breaking’ tours and exposing the science and beauty of the Hayward Fault. This fault is one of 10 active faults in the world creeping at 5 mm/year. View the dramatic evidence through this tour which explores dramatic faulting effects in both natural and urban environments. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. The Little Pediatrician class takes a new twist on the traditional expectant sibling offerings. Using our successful role-playing techniques, students will assume the role of a pediatrician and learn how to hold the baby, do an exam just like a real doctor, change a diaper and keep the baby safe. Material Fee $20.

Each session includes 5 practice test sections - graded, with personalized feedback from the instructor. This class prepares students for the SAT and PSAT. College admissions requirements and target score strategies will be discussed. FULL SET of handouts (strategy sheets, worksheets, practice exam sections, homework, and some class notes) included in class fee. Please bring pencils and paper to each class. American Swim Academy

Classes are 30 minutes each. You must wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. The required ASA $30 registration fee is included in the price listed. Registration will close at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 22nd. To withdraw after Dec. 22nd, you must contact the American Swim Academy directly. Aqua Babies

Ages 6mos -35mos

This class combines water adaptation and safety. Once comfortable in the water, your child will learn safety skills, including holding his/her breath, floating, kicking and climbing out of the water. Students may only register for one day participation only. Krav Maga is a self defense program that uses fitness, boxing, kicks, weapons defense, ground defense and other mixed systems. We teach our system in blocks; one week may focus on hand techniques, another on ground defense and another week on weapon defense. The rotating curriculum allows a variety of material to be taught which keeps things moving and the students stimulated. Create a Skateboard class! A hands-on creative arts learning experience that allows students to apply abstract concepts to a real-life object: a skateboard. Following a structured curriculum, students learn how skateboard creation applies to mathematics, science, language skills, design, and engineering opportunities. In Rege’s Soccer academy players are taught age appropriate skills for them to develop proper soccer fundamentals in a fun and encouraging environment. We have a tailored curriculum that builds on each age’s key/technical skills of dribbling, passing, shooting and control all delivered through fun drills, games and scrimmage time. Each class includes a 15 minute warm up, technical skill development with an emphasis each week and 15-20 minutes of scrimmage to apply what we have learned that week. Shin guards are required. Bring water and wear athletic clothing/shoes.

Volleyball Academy Ages 3-12

The City of Fremont is offering soccer leagues for ages 3 to 12 that provide a positive game atmosphere for youth to learn and grow in the sport they love. The league is designed to give players the opportunity to develop soccer skills in a scrimmage setting. As an instructional league, each session includes a technical skills warm up for 10-15 minutes and organized play for the remaining time. Players will make new friends each week with changing teams to keep games fair and fun! During games coaches will teach fundamentals of soccer, reinforce good plays and encourage teamwork. Introduce your little slugger to the game of baseball/softball. We cover the basics, including how to be part of a team while demonstrating good sportsmanship! No score is kept-everyone is a winner! Each week your child will receive skills training for first 30 minutes followed by 30 minutes of game play, which can start anytime between 9am-12pm. We will try to honor all same team requests, which must be made in writing and turned in at the time of registration, to msa@fremont.gov (please include the barcode). A $10 per class withdrawal fee will be deducted from your refund. Please allow up to four weeks for receipt of refund by check. TRANSFER POLICY Transfers are allowed up to three business days prior to the start of the class. There is no charge for this service. CANCELLATIONS The Community Services Department reserves the right to cancel a class for any reasonable cause. Should this happen, your fee will be refunded in full or you may transfer to any open class. NON-RESIDENT FEES For persons not residing in Fremont, the fee is $5 in addition to the published fee per class. SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT Seniors (Ages 60+) receive a 10% discount on all classes except those designated for seniors. Requests for withdrawals/transfers must be made in writing via email, fax, in person, or our online form.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The City of Fremont and many local business and organizations have funded a grant program, which provides financial assistance for Fremont Residents. For information regarding eligibility for reduced fees, please call (510) 494-4300. All requests are kept confidential. Should you or your business wish to contribute to this scholarship program, call (510) 494-4300. Donations are tax deductible.
