2012 Red & White Burgundy
1
Sept 2014
FOREWORD Nearly two years after the harvest, the 2012 vintage is beginning to fulfil the promise of the first tastings. The year was notable for its roller coaster weather, with a mild winter, spring-like temperatures in March, followed by a sharp drop with some frosts, a sunny May, cold and rainy June, and an unstable summer with periods of heat wave, hail and storms. The cold and damp during flowering led to millerandage (abnormal fruit set) which had an inevitable impact on the overall volumes produced. The sunny and warm, late summer allowed the grapes to attain good levels of ripeness and the harvest was relatively disease free. Today, the wines of the 2012 vintage are revealing more of their personalities. Their wide range reflects the aromatic diversity that characterises the wines of Bourgogne. They also reflect the climatic conditions to which the vines were subjected. The efforts that all winemakers had to endure throughout this year is a credit to their determination and talents. Therefore 2012 turned out to be an excellent, top quality vintage, surprisingly for both red and white wines throughout the entire Cote d'Or. I recommend them all to you most enthusiastically albeit in small volume. Here is the extended report...
WHITE WINES CHABLIS (Auxerrois) As in most regions of the Bourgogne, the changeable weather conditions had an impact on yields. In the earlier-ripening sectors, millerandage led to a drop in volumes, although quality was impeccable. The wines are particularly expressive, developing intense aromas of ripe fruit, underscored with some wonderful floral notes. In the mouth, they are rounded and dense, with good structure. Those wines from the more late-ripening plots are characterised by more subtle citrus scents and tangy fruits, well defined and mineral in the mouth, which is so typical in Chablis. Excellent results. COTE DE BEAUNE The Cote de Beaune was hit by hail, resulting in a significant fall in volumes harvested especially in the central and southern sectors. The wines are showing remarkable overall quality, with nice concentration and undeniable aromatic complexity. Spared the hail, the hill of Corton and the surrounding region produced some marvels. The wines, with notes of ripe and dried fruits, are powerful and vivacious in the mouth revealing clear ageing potential. The very promising results lived up to expectations handsomely. COTE CHALONNIASE Not having suffered from hailstorms and been less affected by bad weather, the Cote Chalonnaise provided an excellent 2012 vintage. Made from very healthy fruit, which reached full maturity, the wines are rich and full-bodied. They also exhibit excellent aromatic qualities, with succulent white fruits and apricot mingling with delicate floral notes (lime blossom). The mouth is full and fleshy, and superbly structured. MACONNAIS The Macon region bounded back well after the poor spring weather. Although the millerandage reduced overall volumes and in places, slowed ripening, the quality of the wines obtained are exemplary. They are very expressive on the nose, with intense aromas of ripe fruits (pear, apple, apricot) accompanied by subtle hints of flowers. The mouth is both rounded and dense, fleshy and perfectly balanced. The 2012 vintage here produced many spectacular successes.

RED WINES COTE DE BEAUNE The violent hailstorms that swept the Cote de Beaune left an indelible trace on the year's output. Some plots in the communes of Pommard and Volnay and surrounding vineyards lost up to 80% of the harvest. These difficult climatic conditions were responsible for the low volumes produced. The resulting wines benefited from the effect of overall concentration, which has become a qualitative advantage. They are fruity and spicy, with good breadth, and a crisp, pleasing acidity. Their body and tannin structure mean they have very good ageing potential.
COTE CHALONNAISE Thanks to rather more clement weather conditions than in some neighbouring regions, the Cote Chalonnaise produced a vintage that will go down in the annals. Outstanding maturity and peak condition grapes allowed for wines with exceptional aromatic and complex characteristics.
COTE DE NUITS The 2012 vintage in the Cote de Nuits was an excellent vintage right throughout the region from north to south. Having escaped the hail, but not the effect of the millerandage, the grapes reached maturity in tip-top condition. The wines, with a deep colour and aromas of small red fruits with very ripe berries, are remarkably balanced. Both smooth and crisp, their roundness is underscored by especially soft, elegant tannin. With a succulent finish and impressive length, they can without any doubt be considered for long ageing.
CONCLUSION We are just delighted with the overall quality of the 2012 vintage right throughout the entirety of Burgundy and believe we have an outstanding range of wines for you to consider. Unfortunately we will have to allocate many wines due to very low stock levels as explained in the foreword. We are delighted to introduce you to three new growers – Francis Lechauve of Meloisey up on the Hautes Cotes de Beaune, Maurice Chapuis of Aloxe-Corton and Armelle et Bernard Rion in VosneRomanÊe. They are wonderful inclusions into our portfolio adding an additional range of quality for you all to experience. We are delighted with the overall quality of our 2012 Burgundy offer and whether it is red or white none of you will be disappointed. As usual, if anyone needs any further information about any Domaine or wine or village then just give us a call. Cheers from, Ross, Vic, Bev, Sarah and Eve

DOMAINE JEAN-CLAUDE BACHELET ET FILS Cote de Beaune Saint-Aubin 10 hectares – Founded 1648 What can one say about the Bachelet Domaine and particularly the sons Benoit and Jean-Baptiste? They possess an outstanding range of white and red Burgundy perched high in the hills of the Cote de Beaune in the highly under rated village of Saint-Aubin. Because of their elevation the wines retain more acidity and this is very important for whites particularly but also the reds. Their vineyard management is superb and their new cellar and equipment is first class, as it has added an extra dimension to their stunning range of wines. We cannot recommend their wines more highly as the quality across the board is just so high, plus they offer exceptional quality for the price. If you don't go wild on these lovely wines you are missing out on something extra special.
RED BURGUNDY BOURGOGNE ROUGE PINOT NOIR 2012
Vibrant ruby red colour. Sweet, aromatic nose of strawberries and raspberry. There is 10% new oak which is odd for a Bourgogne rouge but it adds depth. A little ripper of a Pinot Noir for early drinking over the next 2 - 4 years depending on your preference.

DOMAINE ANTOINE ET RACHEL OLIVIER Cote de Beaune Santenay 10.5 hectares – Founded 1967
Antoine and Rachel Olivier are very hard working vignerons in the unusual village of Santenay, due south in Burgundy at the tip of the Cotes de Beaune. The soil here is a major factor as many parcels have slate stone in them and lacking in nutrition. However, this is excellent for vines as the more nutrients you give a vine the poorer the quality of grape. Make it difficult for a vine and it produces better quality grapes with good acidity. When you add the elevation of the vineyards in Santenay then you have another factor to retain more acid in the grapes with cooler locations. Therefore Antoine's white Burgundies are a cross between Puligny-Montrachet and Chablis as the minerality in his wines are profound. There are no other whites in Burgundy that come near the Chardonnays of Olivier in Santenay. We have included their excellent 'Les 2 Dindes' (two turkeys) from 2012 and two 2011 whites which are village and Premier Cru. All three are superb and ever so individual. Many of you have tried the 'Les 2 Dindes' 2010 which sold out quickly. Well, the 2012 is even better. Be quick with these three beauties!
BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY 'LES 2 DINDES' 2012 Here we go with the two turkeys which is just a sensational Chardonnay that has such similarities to Chablis with it's mineral and flinty, crisp character. The colour is green/gold and a brightness to that is lively. The fruit is rich but with more grapefruit, lemon and honey notes. Very long flavour and excellent balance. A perfect match with seafood or chicken dishes.
Code: 2479
Pre-arrival $28.30
SANTENAY 'LES COTEAUX SOUS LA ROCHE' 2011 BLANC The translation here is 'slopes under the rock' which is an exact description of this vineyard. As a result it has great minerality with excellent acid balance. This is a complex wine that will benefit from 5 years plus in the cellar. The quality is top class as I have tried this on two occasions at different times of the year. At present it is a little closed but the fruit will blossom in the bottle. A distinctive wine from a complex vineyard of a type that is rare in the Cotes de Beaune.
Code: 2480
Pre-arrival $41.70
SANTENAY 1ER CRU 2011 BLANC
A light green colour greets the eye. The acid is lower in this wine but still crisp and lingering. The flavour is dominated with pear and apple fruit and more minerality on the finish. Lovely style and needs time in the bottle as well up to 6 years.

DOMAINE ALAIN CHAVY Cote de Beaune Puligny-Montrachet 10.30 hectares – Founded 1820
Alain Chavy comes from an illustrious family that has been making wine in Puligny for more than two centuries. Alain, born in 1964 went out on his own in 2003 and has established an enviable reputation since that time and his wines have circled the world. We have been buying his wines in all of that time and we don't know of a better address in Puligny. Alain's 2012 wines are sublime and indicative of the vintage, the appellation and, importantly, each Cru. The one thing that stands out with Chavy's wines is purity. Precise and ever so typical of Puligny-Montrachet.
BOURGOGNE BLANC 2012 A green cast to the colour suggests acid and it does. Ever so typical of Puligny Chardonnay with wonderful length of flavour and precise balance. Alain does a remarkable job with his basic white as it always speaks Puligny-Montrachet and it keeps as well.
Code: 2482
Pre-arrival $22.70
SAINT-AUBIN 1ER CRU 'EN REMILLY' 2012
A bit closed right now but the balance and palate length indicates enormous promise with bottle ageing. It's all there and a wonderfully consistent style from this under rated village, Saint-Aubin.
Code: 2488
Pre-arrival $51.00
PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 2012 VILLAGE A vibrant green colour followed by a ripe and explosive palate. What an outstanding village wine!
Code: 2483

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 'LES CHARMES' 2012
A rounder style with some minerals and a touch of lemon. Ripe but not as rich as the Village wine. Still very high quality.
Code: 2484
Pre-arrival $62.00
PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 1ER CRU 'LES FOLATIĂˆRES' 2012 This 'Folatieres' is different to the normal style. It is more spicy with higher acid than usual with an intense fruity flavour. The attack is superb and the palate very long. Top quality!

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 1ER CRU 'LES PUCELLES' 2012 A ripe style but round and long on the palate again. A bit reserved now and quite delicate. A very fine style requiring bottle age. A classic Puligny style.

DOMAINE MARQUIS D'ANGERVILLE Cote de Beaune Volnay 13.47 hectares – Founded 1804 This was the loneliest visit I have ever made at D'Angerville as there were very few barrels in their 2012 cellar. Only 12 barrels of Champans then a mixture of additional cases of the remaining Premiers Cru and village Volnay. The Bourgogne rouge quantity they produced was not in a commercial quantity as two people could consume it over a weekend! On the upside the quality of the 2012 wines was exceptional albeit in very small quantities. Since my visit the Cotes de Beaune has been hit yet again with hail so the 2014 vintage will be exceedingly low in quantity as well. There will be several vineyards that will have to sell out as their loss of income over the last four vintages has been enormous. Yes, a very sad situation indeed. We have been buying and shipping D'Angerville wines every year from 1976 onwards and have never experienced this unfortunate situation ever. Yes, a sad visit indeed! VOLNAY 1ER CRU 'FREMIET' 2012
The change in style for 'Fremiet' continues with a delicious and well structured 2012 wine. The previous 'lighter' 'Fremiet' style has now disappeared as Francois Duvier transformed the wine beautifully. Highly recommended.
Code: 2535
Pre-arrival $110.00
VOLNAY 1ER CRU 'CAILLERETS' 2012
Intense red colour and highly aromatic nose. A ripe and powerful Pinot with firm tannin on the finish but ever so drinkable even now. Delicious.
Code: 2534
Pre-arrival $135.60
VOLNAY 1ER CRU 'CHAMPANS' 2012
Always a great wine and the 2012 follows the tradition handsomely. Great depth of luscious red berry fruits with strawberry dominating. Fine balance and enormous length. The yield was only 10 hectolitres per hectare! A classic and just so impressive. One of the best I have tasted at the Domaine.
Code: 2533
Pre-arrival $135.60
VOLNAY 1ER CRU 'CLOS DES DUCS' MONOPOLE 2012 | MAGNUMS As expected Clos des Ducs was showing great structure and length but somewhat closed in the fruit department. This will develop enormously but needs to be left in the cellar for at least 5 years before tasting. Destined to be a great wine. These magnums will take twice as long to mature owing to the vintage. It will be well worth the wait!

DOMAINE FRANCIS LECHAUVE Cote de Beaune Meloisey 5 hectares – Founded 2007 Francis Lechauve established his business in the village of Meloisey in the Hautes Cotes de Beaune in 2007. Before starting his own concern Francis worked for sixteen years alongside Andre Porcheret (formerly winemaker for Lalou Bize Leroy and the Hospices de Beaune) at Domaine Monthelie-Douhairet. Francis is still responsible for the vineyards belonging to the Hospices de Beaune. The core of the business is based on his own vineyards in the Hautes Cotes de Beaune supplemented by small parcels of vines owned by friends in the villages of the Cote de Beaune. These vineyards are looked after in a proprietorial way by Francis and all the fruit is picked by hand. The wines are made and undergo elevage in the cellars at Meloisey and are eventually bottled after the lightest filtration. The wines have a brightness, precision and purity of flavour that is outstanding. All wines have been fermented in oak of which 25% - 30% is new wood. Extraordinary value is to be found in the Hautes Cotes de Beaune Rouge, Blanc and Monthelie Rouge.
MEURSAULT 2012 VILLAGE
I have always been quite a critic of Meursault whites as they tend to lack pure fruit flavour being more earthy in style. Well Francis Lechauve has changed my opinion as his 2012 Meursault is a little beauty. A light green and vibrant colour starts the wine off well. Then comes an amalgam of grapefruit, lime and lemon flavours joined by crisp and clean acidity. There is no wood influence here as the wine does not require it, it's so well balanced. A beauty!!
Code: 2490
Pre-arrival $66.95
HAUTES COTES DE BEAUNE 2012 ROUGE
Meloisey is a lovely village perched high up in the hills of the Cote de Beaune looking down upon Volnay and Pommard. There are many excellent wines up in the Hautes Cotes and just so reasonable in price given their quality. Francis has carved out an excellent Pinot Noir . It is deep ruby and vibrant in the glass. The nose gives off raspberry and strawberry fruit with a little new oak to add complexity. The palate is excellently structure and there is a lovely texture to this plus great length. There is 25% new oak but not dominating and the low yields of 55 hectolitres per hectare gives more concentration to the overall style. This is just ever so lovely and will suit most palates.
Code: 2489
Pre-arrival $32.50
MONTHELIE ROUGE 2012
Lighter ruby colour but still intense. Bottled 1 st March so somewhat settled. Inviting raspberry aroma and flavour with crisp acidity and a touch of new oak to add complexity. Excellent red Burgundy of class.

DOMAINE MAURICE CHAPUIS
Cote de Beaune Aloxe-Corton 11 hectares – Founded 1850
Domaine Maurice Chapuis is located in Aloxe-Corton in the Cote de Beaune. The village is situated at the foot of the outstanding hill of Corton and is proud to have one red Grand Cru and one white Grand Cru. The area of the village is very small 266 hectares most of it in vineyards (240 hectares). Aloxe-Corton lies 5 km north of Beaune and 35 km south of Dijon. Domaine Maurice Chapuis is above all a family Domaine. Around 1850, a winegrower worker from AloxeCorton, Pierre Pavelot, owned 1 hectare of vines. A few years later, with his brother Francois, he bought 60 Ares of Corton Charlemagne. Formerly, that vineyard was part of the Domaine of the Emperor Charlemagne. He gave it to the Abbey Saint Andochein Saulieu. Pierre's daughter married Antoine Chapuis, the young teacher of the village. Antoine had two sons, Eugene and Maurice who undertook to grow the Domaine. Eugene was killed during the Great War; Maurice inherited a house and vines from his aunt Cunisset-Carnot. Strongly attached to the terroir, he actively participated in the establishment of the AOC laws while working as a winegrower. After the 2 nd World War, his son Louis continued his work and replanted almost all of their vines. In 1985, Maurice succeeded his father. As it is usual today, Maurice works also with an oenologist. The wines from this 'special' Domaine are just so sublime and remain fresh in the bottle after many years of maturation. It is best not to consume them too young as, normally, the best is yet to come. Domaine Chapuis ages certain wines for lengthy periods before release. On this occasion we have a 2011 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru and the 2008 CortonCharlemagne. We cannot recommend these wines more highly.
ALOXE-CORTON 2012 VILLAGE Very deep ruby colour and a ripe, fragrant nose. The wine is immediately round and velvety with red berry fruits with soft tannin and a little new oak (10%). The overall palate is very long and persistent. An excellent village wine that will keep and get better.
Code: 2492

This wine had just finished it's malo lactic fermentation as it was a bit closed. It did display elegance and a finely structured palate. DOMAINE ARMELLE ET BERNARD RION Cote de Nuits Vosne-Romanée 8 hectares – Founded 1896 Since 1896, the Rion family have been working their vines in Vosne-Romanée. From generation to generation, tradition and knowledge have been passed down. Bernard Rion and his wife Armelle have managed the business since 1981. After studies in viticulture and wine making their daughter Alice joined the family Domaine in 2006. Since that time the quality and profile of Domaine Rion has risen right throughout the wine world. They posses a stunning range of vineyards featuring Grand Cru, Premiers Cru, Village and Bourgogne Rouge. With their 8 hectares of vines, the Rion family aims at perfection. Most of their work, as well as the grape picking, is done by hand as this helps to obtain optimum quality. When ripeness is obtained, the harvested grapes are cut and placed into wine vats and there again, man must be humble and respect what the vintage offers. The juice is then gently extracted in the pheumatic press machine and transferred into old oak barrels for ageing for a period of 15 months prior to bottling. We welcome this impressive Domaine into our portfolio and can promise you all you will be very excited by these outstanding wines.
VOSNE-ROMANÉE 'DAME JULIETTE' 2012
There are 3 plots of Vosne-Romanée village used to make this wine. The vines are near the border of Vosne and Nuits. This wine has intense ruby red colour. There is some new oak used but it does not dominate as the wine expresses lovely fruit quality and a delightful roundness to the finish. I could drink this wine now even though it will develop some more in the bottle. A lovely Burgundy and indicative of the quality of Vosne-Romanée.
Code: 2510
Pre-arrival $76.00
NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1ER CRU 'LES MURGERS' 2012 Deep dense colour and fragrant nose. The palate is rich in red berry fruits with superb balance, soft texture and intense length. This is a very stylish wine and located in a lovely location. Attractive now but I would recommend some years in the cellar 6-8 years.
Code: 2511
Pre-arrival $83.50
CLOS VOUGEOT 2012 GRAND CRU Mid Ruby colour. This is a very intense and solid wine that is young and tannic. It just needs time as the balance is there and the weight of fruit on the palate just needs bottle age and it will be a stunning Burgundy.
Code: 2509 2012 Red & White Burgundy

DOMAINE DES LAMBRAYS Cote de Nuits Morey-Saint-Denis 12.44 hectares – Founded 1365 The news at Clos des Lambrays upon my arrival was just so surprising as Madame Freund had just accepted an offer from LVMH to buy the Domaine. Thierry Brouin was devastated at first but eventually accepted a contract to remain at the Domaine for 3 years before he retires. This ancient Domaine owes a great deal to Thierry as he brought the property back from the grave following the ill-fated Saier family running the reputation of Clos des Lambrays into the ground. This then led to German businessman Gunter Freund to buy the Domaine and immediately hired Thierry Brouin to bring about an enormous change in the viticultural and vinification pursuits which he did admirably. Today Clos des Lambrays is considered among the elite Domaines in Bourgogne. Unfortunately the quantity produced in 2102 was just so small all wines we have will have to be allocated; which will be difficult. Please assist us in this task. The quality of the 2012 is like most wines on the Cote d 'Or – fabulous.
MOREY-SAINT-DENIS 2012 VILLAGES
This is more like a Premier Cru wine than village as the intensity of flavour, roundness and length are all top class. Silky red berry fruits and round tannins. Unfortunately limited. 1 bottle per order.
Code: 2515
Pre-arrival $87.70
CLOS DES LAMBRAYS 2012 GRAND CRU | 750ML A beautiful crimson red colour with floral nose. The palate is complex, fresh, luscious and supple. Great balance and length. A marvellous Grand Cru in 2012. Also available in 375ml and Magnums, listed below.

DOMAINE PIERRE AMIOT ET FILS Cote de Nuits Morey-Saint-Denis 8.5 hectares – Founded 1850 I was surprised on my visit to Domaine Amiot to learn that two new wines have been added to the range – a Morey Blanc and Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru if you don't mind. Both are beautiful wines added to an already impressive array of Morey-Saint-Denis Burgundies. Each time I visit this Domaine the wines impress me even more so than the last time and this visit was no exception. The 2012 harvest was one of their very best and Didier and Jean-Louis left me in no doubt that they thought is was certainly one of their very best vintages ever!! We present to you village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines to convince you all. If you have never tried the Pierre Amiot wines in the past then you could not get a better impression than this vintage.
MOREY-SAINT-DENIS 2012 VILLAGE
A vibrant, almost purple red colour. A bit closed so I concentrate on the structure which is well balanced, clean and of good length. Promising village wine but needs time.
Code: 2516
Pre-arrival $51.00
MOREY-SAINT-DENIS 2012 BLANC Shiny green gold colour. The vines here are 23 years old so this Chardonnay displays rich, ripe fruit with lime/lemon fruit and crisp acidity. Morey Chardonnays are quite rare and this is an excellent one!!
Code: 2520
Pre-arrival $58.00
GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 1ER CRU 'LES COMBOTTES' 2012
One of my favourites as I always believe this to be Grand Cru quality. The 2012 model follows the pattern although it is closed at present but the balance and structure is all there. Wait for this beauty.
Code: 2517
Pre-arrival $91.90
CLOS DE LA ROCHE 2012 GRAND CRU A next door neighbour to 'Les Combottes' and always a great wine. The 2012 is amazing as it is dark and dense in colour but closed on the palate BUT the structure is all there. This is an interesting blend of 2 parcels from the Haut (high) 1 part from the middle and 2 parts from the bar (low) part of Clos de la Roche. There was no filtration used on this wine and it was made very naturally. Outstanding potential.
Code: 2518
Pre-arrival $131.90
CHARMES-CHAMERTIN 2012 GRAND CRU This is the first time I have tasted this wine and what a beauty. A very elegant wine with feminine structure and sublime balance. I have been a critic of a lot of Charmes-Chambertin but not of this one as it is stunning. Great fruit quality and excellent balance.

DOMAINE FOURRIER
Cote de Nuits Gevrey-Chambertin 8.5 hectares – Founded 1850
What an impressive range of village, Premier and Grand Cru wines from one Domaine on the Cote d'Or. The Fourrier label is so highly rated throughout the world as one of the very best Domaines in the whole of Burgundy. Jean-Marie continues to fine tune every wine in his range each year and his 2012 wines are simply outstanding. Unfortunately, we don't have a huge stock of any wine so allocation will be necessary. As always we will be fair to all clients and try and spread the wines evenly.
BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY 2012
Made from 10 year old vines! The colour is light green indicating good acidity. This leads on to a rich and ripe palate that is long with superb balance. There is a touch of honey to the fruit with apple/pear fruit.
Code: 2531
Pre-arrival $39.80
GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 2012 VILLAGE Dark ruby colour with a muted nose at present. The vines here are from 1929 and 1940 with a solid tannin structure and a very long palate of raspberries and cherries. A typical Gevrey style that is solid and requiring bottle age up to 10 years. Excellent village quality.
Code: 2527
Pre-arrival $81.30
GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 1ER CRU 'CLOS ST JACQUES' 2012 Intense garnet red colour. Aromatic on the nose. This is a highly feminine style with beautiful cherry flavour. The flavour just lingers and lingers. I will summarise this style as 'an iron hand in a velvet glove. Great, great wine!
Code: 2522
Pre-arrival $250.00
GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 1ER CRU 'COMBE AUX MOINES' 2012 Here we have a blend of 1929 and 1960 vines. Black/red colour. The palate is closed for now but will open up over the next 4-5 years then maturing even longer. Great length and intensity. Guard!
Code: 2523
Pre-arrival $153.00
GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 1ER CRU 'CHAMPEAUX' 2012 Only 2 barrels made – sadly. Vines from 1919. This has the deepest ruby colour in the range and the palate is closed for now. This has power and excellent structure but needs time in the bottle up to 8 years. Classic Burgundy.
Code: 2524
Pre-arrival $153.00
GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 1ER CRU 'LES GOULOTS' 2012 It looks down upon 'Combe Aux Moins and 'Champeaux' and is high up the hill. It is always more expressive in it's youth than the other two and this is the case with the 2012. Lovely complex red berry fruits with softer tannins plus a powerful palate with a touch of minerals on the finish. Great style as always.

GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 1ER CRU 'CHERBAUDES' 2012
Another deep and intense red colour. The nose is muted at present. It has an aromatic floral nose with a touch of violets as well. Great length on the palate and very smooth as well. One of Jean-Marie's favourite vineyards. I know why!
Code: 2526
Pre-arrival $134.00
CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY 2012 VILLAGE Ruby red colour that sparkles in the glass. The nose is closed but the palate is typically feminine and elegant with the tannins softer and rounder. This has power but grace. Excellent Chambolle village example.
Code: 2529
Pre-arrival $81.30
CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY 1ER CRU 'LES GRUENCHERS' 2012 Mid ruby colour and vibrant as well. The nose is sweet and aromatic. The red berry fruits abound and the wine has excellent weight of flavour and length. Not a tannic finish but elegant. Lovely style.
Code: 2528
Pre-arrival $153.00
VOUGEOT 1ER CRU 'LES PETITS VOUGEOT' 2012 A light ruby colour with a sweet, strawberry nose. This is always a very stylish and elegant wine full of flavour, soft tannin and mild acidity. Terrific as usual.
