GIFTED & TALENTED PACKET GT Packet for May 11-15 and May 18-21 Frenship ISD is providing our students in Frenship’s Gifted & Talented Program with OPTIONAL learning opportunities while we are practicing remote learning. May 11-15: Students will choose 2-3 options on the NEW choice board attached. May 18-21: Students will choose 2-3 options on the NEW choice board attached.
Our elementary GT program was awarded a mini-grant for the purchase of the Archaeology Dig Kits you will see on the choice board. We would like to say thank you to the Frenship Foundation for Leadership for the award and to further enrich our students. Embark on an archaeological adventure to discover Egyptian treasures! Be sure to read the historical fun facts! (application, analysis, elaboration)
DIG KIT
TIME CAPSULE (originality, elaboration) You are living through history right now! Preserve your memories in a time capsule! This is something fun for the whole family!
(available at packet pick up only) Complete the Archaeology Field Log page 4 as you dig! Extra challenge: Create a story about the discovery of the Egyptian artifacts from your dig kit. Choose one of the artifacts and research it more in depth to include in your story.

Activity 1: Using a shoebox, or other box from home, construction paper, and other materials; create a diorama of a scene with a pyramid such as the one that Annie and Jack visited. Make the scene as detailed as possible so that it looks like it belongs in the story. Activity 2: Create a cartouche out of play-dough or homemade clay (2 cups flour + 1 cup salt, then add 1 cup water slowly)
