Tom Baker and Susan DeHoff Montgomery reconnected this past year and have become very good friends; they are “inseparable.” Tom plans to move to Denver to be with Susan. They took a trip to Syracuse in the spring to close Tom’s apartment and move to a condo near Augusta, Maine where they will spend summers. Both of their families have summer cottages in Maine. Betsy Beatty Gable and her husband Bruce made
a trip to Washington, D.C. to visit her daughter and family. Lisa still works for the Department of Justice in the Disability Rights Section, a part of the Civil Rights Division. They had a visit from Tom Baker and Susan Montgomery in May and plan their annual visit to Bailey Island and Monhegan in September. August is the time for the annual family gathering of 14 in Rockport. Geraldine (Cholly) Hisle has retired and is deciding what new location best suits her. She is still playing bridge and is now trying to

improve her computer skills. I, your Class Secretary, have spent the last year in the HMR weight management program. Several health issues scared me enough to make one final effort to lose weight. This time it worked really well and I have lost over 65 pounds so far. This year I feel well enough to resume travelling. In July, I am joining a Beloit College group to visit the Coltswold area west of London, including Oxford, an area I have long desired to visit. In September I will again visit my family in Portland, Ore., which is always enjoyable. I have decided to close my jewelry business this year and make items only for myself, friends and Beloit College, for whom I make turtle jewelry. There will be one last craft fair in November. Brad Meyer is still enjoying his folk music, playing guitar and recently consulting with a professional musician friend who records in Nashville. Brad and his guitar have always provided our favorite music at our Reunions. Eli Renn and his wife Pat now live with his youngest daughter Signe and her husband in northern Baltimore County where he says they, “Sun ourselves on the deck and collect stray cats.” Signe is a real estate agent and also does acting gigs for television. His daughter Elsa has renovated a sprawling old property in Connecticut to accommodate a mix of yoga, acupuncture, sauna and lectures
on nutrition, after a career with Hewlett Packard. Eli says both he and Pat have retired and are happier “on the deck!” Susan Huff Schmitt is happy that her sister Sally Huff Leimbach ’64 and her husband Wendell joined her in Shell Point Retirement Community in Ft. Meyers, Fla. this past winter. Susan was the first in our class to move to warmer weather. Each year Susan DeHoff Montgomery joins her for a visit to escape Denver cold. This year Tom Baker came with her. Ann McAllister Windsor reports that she has completed master gardener training and is enjoying volunteering in the gardens of a county hospice in New Hampshire. She says, “Happiness is digging in the dirt and marveling at nature.” She and her husband Frank celebrated 57 years together with a trip to Boston.
