GUIDED BY QUAKER VALUES EDUCATING FOR EXCELLENCE INSPIRING TOMORROW’S LEADERS HONORING THE INDIVIDUAL
FRIENDS’ CENTRAL LOWER SCHOOL
Founded in 1845, Friends’ Central School is a Quaker, co-educational, college preparatory school for students in Nursery to grade 12. Our easily accessible Lower School campus (N-5) is on 18 idyllic acres on Old Gulph Road in Wynnewood. Students in grades 6-12 are on our 28-acre campus on City Avenue in Wynnewood. Friends’ Central’s Lower School is a place where joy-filled learning is embedded in play, exploration, and discovery. Whether at a desk, in the garden, art studio, or playground, learning is engaging. “Skills and drills” take their place alongside critical questioning (why? how? what if?), teamwork, and collaboration. The experience is as academically challenging and exciting as it is nurturing and structured.
