Director’s Note Working on this production with the 5th and 6th graders has been an absolute joy. Their enthusiasm for creation, eagerness to learn the nuances of virtual theatre, and their patience with filming were incredible to witness. This year has certainly challenged our ability to tell meaningful stories, but the talented cast gave this new format their best effort. This play, The Family Business, is great for novice actors as it allows them to focus on building distinct characters. As a cast, we worked hard on distinguishing facial expressions, gestures, and vocal choices in order to bring these different characters to life. Moreover, the ensemble nature of the scenes allowed for large all-cast rehearsals and enabled students to make friends beyond their homeroom pods. We hope you enjoy all of our hard work! In gratitude, Kathryn
