LPC-APPROVED ELEVATION & DESIGN MODIFICATIONS: Hunter Hall BUILDING HEIGHT ● Existing Building (to playroof top): 70’-0’” ● After Renovation (to playroof top): 83’-10” ● Overall increase in building height: 13’-10” DESIGN MODIFICATIONS made in response to community and LPC feedback: ●
Decrease of 1,671sf in Hunter Hall, eliminating 1 classroom (total reduction of 2,887sf throughout project)
●
Reduced height of eastern stairwell and bulkhead by 16’ (from 79’ to 63’)
●
Switched playroof framing to use lighter supports and thinner nylon mesh, allowing for greater light and increased visual transparency
●
Width of mesh-enclosed playroof reduced from 85’ to 63’
LPC-APPROVED ELEVATION & DESIGN MODIFICATIONS: Townhouses BUILDING HEIGHT ● Existing Building to penthouse: 61’-5 ¼” ● After Renovation with new 6th floor greenhouse, bulkhead & art space: 89’-6” ● Overall increase in building height: 28’-0 ¾” DESIGN MODIFICATIONS made in response to community and LPC feedback: ●
Decrease of 1,216sf (5 classrooms each reduced in size)

Vertical expansion above cornice sloped to avoid pedestrian line-of-sight from East 16th Street

Noise: Use of advanced techniques to minimize noise and ensure compliance with standards established by NYC Department of Environmental Protection; drop tarps will mitigate sound

Dust: Close monitoring of operations that produce dust; affected areas regularly hosed down; tarps used to mitigate dust
●
Vermin: Close monitoring by professional exterminator with regular proactive site visits
●
Vibration: Monitors are anticipated to be installed both on school buildings, the Meetinghouse and neighboring properties as required during excavation work within a historic district (Fall 2017)
