Sandra Elizabeth Conway (Closs) “Sandi” It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing on February 14, 2020 in her 57th year. Sandi was predeceased by her mom and dad, Martha and Floyd Closs, infant sister Diane and her brother Phillip. She is survived by her devoted sisters Karen Closs (Kingston) and Betty Babcock (Roger) Parham. Nephews Todd Babcock Toronto, Tim (Laura) Babcock Vancouver, Chris (Crystal) Closs Kingston and nieces Fran Sutherland (Kevin) Kingston, Stephanie (Joey) Lyons Belleville. Special great aunt to Abby, Ridley, Brae Lynn and Rowan. She also leaves 1 aunt Leta Kirkwood of Guelph. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 20, 2020 between the hours of 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Trousdale Funeral Home, 4374 Mill Street, Sydenham, ON. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Ompah Fire Department in Sandi’s memory. There are not enough words to describe our pain and loss right now. We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Providence Care Hospital on Heritage 2 for the wonderful care Sandi received and their kindness to Karen and Betty over the last 2 weeks. On March 2nd, the bus goes to Napanee to the Walmart, No Frills, Giant Tiger, and Country Traditions stores, with lunch at Chuck’s Roadhouse. Call Kate to reserve your seat. Adults $20, ages 5-17-$5, free for the 4 and under set. • Harlowe Hall had them rocking and rolling on the foundation last Friday night and Saturday afternoon. We sure had the Nashville sound all weekend. There were 10 entertainers on Friday night, and 18 on Saturday, and lots of dancers. A wide variety of food and desserts as well, what a spread! After dinner on Saturday ,some entertainers played for another couple of hours. The piano player came from Kingston and joined us for both events. She said she loves to drive. Thanks to all for helping to clean up.

• Snow cleared so that the Frontenac Addington Trappers Council was able to meet at the Henderson Hall this past week. Good to see the hall being used. Congratulations to the Council on celebrating their 40th year - we surely appreciate all your efforts, ideas, conservation plans, and training of the next and future generations. • Special get well to Ashley Halladay, who had an aneurism but is doing well now. We all remember Ashley and family from their time living in Arden. She is the granddaughter of the late Elda Clark, who at one time taught school in the area. • Henderson United will start back in full swing this Sunday, March 1 at 8:45am after a two month winter break. Student clergy and soon to be “Rev.” Cheryl McMurray will be back after holidays.. • Area churches will gather on Friday, March 6 at land O’Lakes Emmanuel United Church in Northbrook to celebrate world Day of Prayer at 10:30am.
