CUBA
Remote Live-Aboard Cuban Flats:
Fishing in the Cienaga De Zapata Biosphere
Dear Traveler,
In 2000, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) declared the wetlands encompassing the Zapata Peninsula and surrounding area a biosphere reserve. This conservation habitat is now the largest protected region in Cuba and in fact the Caribbean, resulting in an unprecedented fishery and wildlife experience.
As a result of this restricted access, these vast shallow hard sand flats, lagunas, and creeks – similar to our everglades - offer literally thousands of square miles to just eight (8) anglers per week targeting juvenile tarpon, snook, bonefish, permit and a plethora of other Caribbean flats species.
This is our maiden Frontiers departure on the Georgiana, however, we are bending the rules a bit. April 1-8, 2023 will be exclusive to just five (5) Frontiers anglers, offering room to spread out in five (5) private en suite bedrooms. Enhancing this excursion is Frontiers’ own, Ben Hoffman, who will be hosting. He will be accompanied by professional photographer and videographer, Nick Swingle, to record an adventure full of fish-story memories that will last a lifetime.
We sincerely hope you will join us and look forward to embarking on this journey together.
What to Expect
• Flats and back country fishing for multiple grand-slam species in the Caribbean’s largest protected Biosphere.
• Single rooms with private bath and single boat/guides for each angler
• Experience the mysteries of rural Cuba with the assurance of a tenured Frontiers host at your side and service.
About the Georgiana
The Georgina is a larger but simple liveaboard vessel, offering six (6) berths with bath en suite. Frontiers guests on this departure each will have single rooms and the opportunity to fish single during their stay. Yes . . . that is single room and single guide per guest!
