ABOUT SUMMER DAY CAMPS

Frost Valley YMCA Day Camp

Frost Valley YMCA offers a safe, fun, character-building Day Camp for children living in our local communities as well as families staying in the area for the summer. In an effort to make camps affordable for all, tiered pricing and financial assistance is available. Our Day Camp activities are based on healthy, hands-on activities that help children grow in spirit, mind and body, as well as embrace our core values of Frost Valley YMCA: caring, connected, inclusive, diverse, honest, respectful, responsible, and accountable.

Frost Valley YMCA’s programs focus on building and maintaining healthy lifestyles that reflect the interests and needs of a dynamic community. We offer a range of options for children in pre-K through grade 10. We ensure enjoyable camping and recreational experiences for each child. Camp groups are coed and are divided into groups by age and grade. We offer snack options daily at no extra charge. Parents will be responsible for providing a bagged lunch for their camper. Frost Valley is a nut-free facility.

Our counselors, who provide constant supervision and positive role modeling, are what make Frost Valley’s summer camp meaningful. Many are former campers who know our camp culture and are excited to share its traditions. Counselors complete extensive training in our policies and procedures, which stress health and safety first, in a fun environment. All Frost Valley staff and volunteers undergo criminal background checks and are scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry.

In compliance with NY State Health Department and ACA regulations, we maintain an impressive staff-to-camper ratio of an average of 1:5 for our explorers program, 1:8 for day campers and 1:4 for our horse programs.

VALUES

Our programs focus on character development through our core values. We are: inclusive and diverse, caring and connected, honest and respectful, responsible and accountable.

REGISTRATION • MEDICAL INFO • FEES

Online Registration

All registration is now online. Frost Valley has switched to a new system called CampBrain. Visit: www.frostvalley.org or SCAN THE QR CODE TO REGISTER NOW!

QUESTIONS? CONTACT US!

If you have any questions, please contact the registrars’ office at (845) 985-2291 x 203 or email daycamp@frostvalley.org.

Medical Forms

For your convenience, all camper medical forms have been integrated into the online registration process in CampBrain.

It is very important that Frost Valley has the most accurate emergency contact information should we need to contact a parent or guardian if an urgent situation arises.

It is also important that we have an up-to-date vaccination record for your camper.

Documentation of two doses of the MMR vaccine is required.

Tiered Pricing

Knowing that families have different abilities to pay our camp registration fees, Frost Valley YMCA has for many years offered a voluntary tier fee structure. Last year, we decided to add a fourth tier, to help keep camp accessible to our families. All campers receive the same Frost Valley experience, no matter which amount you choose to pay.

Four-tier pricing offers an opportunity for you to take an active role in supporting the true cost of your child’s camp experience at Frost Valley. As you consider your family’s financial situation, please also consider the true cost of camp.

TIER A is the overall cost of running camp for each camper, which includes direct expenses per camper, as well as general overhead, maintenance and improvements to our facilities. Select this tier if you are able to.

SUBSIDIZED TIERS:

TIER B is a subsidized rate that covers some (but not all) of the costs of camp for each camper. Please pay this tier if you are unable to pay Tier A.

TIER C is a modestly subsidized rate.

TIER D* is a highly subsidized rate for local families.

*Only active students who attend school in Grahamsville, Livingston Manor, Margaretville, Ellenville, or Liberty are eligible to pay Tier D prices.

In the event that the tuition prices above are out of your family’s budget, additional financial aid is available. More info can be found on page 5.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial Assistance

At Frost Valley YMCA, we believe every child deserves a summer camp experience. That is why we offer financial aid – or “camperships” to families who apply. The generous support of donors provides financial assistance to individuals who otherwise would not have this life-enhancing opportunity. Without this loyal commitment to our mission, thousands would miss out on the joy of exploring the wilderness, laughing with friends in a cabin, or making memories around a campfire.

Financial Assistance Applications are incorporated into our new online registration process in CampBrain for those who need it.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE CAN BE AWARDED FOR UP TO 2 WEEKS OF CAMP!

In an effort to make camp accessible to more families, Frost Valley has revised our income eligibility requirements for Financial Assistance.

QUESTIONS? CONTACT US!

If you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact the registrars’ office at (845) 985-2291 x 203 or email campership@frostvalley.org.

As a 501(c)3 charitable organization we rely on the support of our donor community to help to provide this crucial financial assistance and to continue to advance our programs and services. For more information or to make a gift, please visit www.frostvalley.org/for-all
