LJK House
LJK House. View from the pool garden
LJK House embraces a mediterranean forest, growing around the existing pine-trees and the oaks, as a respectful architectural action.
LJK K House. Pool gard den and site
LJK K House. First ring – ground floor
LJK K House. Second ring – uppe er floor
LJK House is organized in two levels running along two rings, a ground ring and an upper ring, each of them generated as a sequence of rooms looking simultaneously to the inner garden and to the forest outwards.
LJK House. Ground floor
LJK House. Upper floor
LJK House takes advantage of a highly qualified natural environment: a mediterranean forest in the outskirts of Madrid, with amazing views to the west, to the sunset, to the mountains‌
LJK House. View from the west forest
LJK House. View from the access garden
The forest becomes an inner courtyard, the old pool becomes landscape and garden, the house’s porches communicate the inner controlled forest and the outer landscape. Thus, the sequence of rooms run between these two natural worlds.
