Drawing has been his passion and a constant feature in his life, since he played with his brother at drawing everything they liked until, years later, he draw inspiration from women to create the Muses, his most personal collection. “I search the beauty the body exudes, I like drawing the female figure. He received his education at the Joso School and at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona. Thanks to the spreading of his illustrations through the Internet, he started working for Zara. There, he says, he learnt about his trade, about regularity, and how to study styles of reference illustrators. A year later, he launched himself as a freelance artist, and since then he works for different brands, advertising agencies, and publishing companies. “The central idea of my work is to have fun. Art is therapeutic for me. I enjoy it. And I want others to as well. I think the most rewarding part of my work is generating an emotional response from the viewer.

Ivan Bla탑etic

Always right here and really out there. Into art of being human on the first place. I’m mostly focused on creating through the media of illustration, in which I’m evoking themes of fantastic landscapes, wanderings of the spirit and the purity of childlike imagination. Through my work I am inspired with universal truths, nature, architecture and “utopias”. Emotions, contours and textures from my illustrations I’m reflecting into three dimensional space, whether it is ceramic figurines, book objects or sculptures derived from organic materials. What is not so important is that I have finished Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka. What else to say... Your humanity is the biggest art project you can get in your life time.

Leo & Pipo Project « Appearing Past »

As a part of Dunkirk 2013, French capital of culture, Leo & Pipo are pleased to present their “Appearing Past” project. In collaboration with the photographic archives of Dunkirk, Leo & Pipo realized 12 real size collages to be discovered in the streets of the city from June to December 2013. From family photos of anonymous characters, these collages were placed in areas illustrating the history of the city: carnival, public gardens, post-war reconstruction, etc… “Leo & Pipo is originally a street-art project founded in 2008. Their work is an attempt to express the collective memory. They mainly paste anonymous characters from family photographs, because they think that the emotion we all feel about our ancestors is quite universal. They try to act as a “madeleine” - to create a “time machine” - that reveals an emotion we all have within us.” Leonard Koan (event organizer)

Sofia Rondelli

My name is Sofia Rondelli and I was born in Pietrasanta, a small Italian town with a charming old city and famous galleries, on September 23rd, 1991. I enjoyed a peaceful childhood. When I was six I discovered a passion for drawing and visual arts. I devoted every available moment of my youth to painting and long meditation on the forms. I also attended Art School in Carrara, marble world capital manufacturing. It was soon clear to me that after high school I would have attended the accademy to study the power of art and I chose the course of painting. I had my first exhibition in Milan (SpaziArti Ungallery) in October 2010, before starting university. I have also worked with another gallery and the Open Art in Milan. At the end of my diploma studies, I was very interested to know the painting media and did my thesis on research of beauty into the hidden things. While attending that art school I worked under Claudio Cargiolli and the sculptor Fabrizio Mismas. The different influences of these two artists made it clear to me that Art was an incredibly complicated field and that I had a great deal to learn. During this period, the painter Cargiolli had the most profound influence on my work. Thanks to him I realized that life and painter are one thing. So, in 2010, I entered the Accademy of Fine Arts. However it was clear to me from the beginnig that after passing the diploma in three years time I would be moved to another university leaving my parents’ house. My choice will be the Accademy of Fine Arts in Turin because this city is one of the most attractive ones for an artistic growth. I attempt to infuse my drawing and paint with a certain beauty quality as well as an inner need to identify with image my interior desires. I have recently begun oil paint on wood and I love the effects obtained. As illustrator, my artwork has appeared on Pastiche Rivista, Players Magazine, LaRecherche.it website and books like hardcover and paperback.

JANTOLEK Saša Jantolek was born the 24th of Januray, 1968, in Rijeka. His fields of artistic work include comics, drawings, paintings, stage sets, objects, ironic conceptual or “realistic” straw dolls (Mardi Gras festivity dolls), poetic illustrations, and dolls. A constant in his artistic expression is the integration of painting and sculpture, the humorous, creative and lucid, poetic and grotesque. By borrowing fragments from various artistic styles, techniques, and methods – along the lines of childish expression, Mediterranean sensibility, neo-expressionism, ludism, outsider art, and art brut – he has developed a characteristic style and aesthetics recognized by an ever growing audience. Jantolek draws his inspiration from life’s sequences, intimate fragments from the lives of its performers, oftentimes bizarre, and always emotionally close and perceivable. He began his independent work as an artist in 1990. Since then, he has had several independent and group exhibits. Saša is a member of HDLU (Croatian Association of Artists) in Rijeka and HDLU Istria, and ULUPUH (Croatian Association of Visual Artists of Applied Arts).

Sam Chivers Sam Chivers is a UK based illustrator and printmaker.Drawn towards a sort of pop surrealism, he fuses graphical and figurative elements., landscapes and objects both natural and man-made to create a kind of symbolism that is never immediately clear. Pedro Barrios I was born and raised in Miami Florida, but spent the first seven years of my life living in Caracas Venezuela. I currently reside in Denver Colorado, where I spend most of my days drawing/ painting. The inspiration for my pieces come from many different avenues, being my travels, cultures that I’ve encountered, visual patterns, color palletes, and so on. All of the works start with a simple circle, and go from there. I would say that about half of my work have been thought out before I start, while the other half are guided as I go through emotions and composition. The underlying feeling that I get from the art that I create, is a feeling of longing for connectivity. Thank you for everything
