HOW DO I ENROLL IN CWE CLASSES?
Ensure you have an active Continuing Education application on file
Go to your Student Center and click on “Manage Classes and Books”
Choose “Class Search and Enroll” to find the course you are looking at taking
You will search for the course using keywords or the catalog number associated with the course
There should be an arrow that shows up on the right-hand side of the screen once you find the course. You will click this arrow to proceed
Choose “Next” on the next screen after reviewing your selection
If applicable, enter the permission number, otherwise, choose “Accept”
Choose to enroll in the course, or add it to your shopping cart and choose “Next”
Review your course and choose “Submit”
HOW DO I APPLY FOR A CWE PROGRAM/COURSE?
Just head to our homepage and click on the "Apply" button. Then, choose the "Continuing Education" option. If you can't find your program listed in the application, don't worry. Just select the "Career Enrichment" option and proceed.
WHEN IS MY PAYMENT DUE?
Tuition for CWE classes is due the day before the course starts. For instance, if the course begins on Monday, payment must be made by Sunday evening. Non-payment will result in being dropped from the course.
HOW DO I MAKE A PAYMENT?
Payments can be made online with a credit card via your Student Center (myFSCJ), or in-person with cash or a check at any FSCJ campus.

PUBLIC SAFETY PUBLIC SAFETY
Get ready to become a sleuthing superstar with FSCJ's Continuing Workforce Education program, geared towards budding private investigators. These courses cover everything from the nitty-gritty of the law to survival skills for a safe and successful career. PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR I - CWN 0234 ($299)
Students will learn the necessary skills required for licensure, including understanding and demonstration of professional ethics, legal issues, evidence, surveillance, equipment for private investigation, report writing, anti-terrorism, courtroom demeanor and practice.

This course is a continuation of the two-part Private Investigator Intern program. In this course you will continue to receive the training required to obtain a Florida Class "CC" license. As with Part I of the Florida Private Investigator Intern Training, students will further develop their understanding of Florida statutes and administrative rules relating to private investigations
911 PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR - CWN 0250 ($950)
Students will be required to be at the Criminal Justice Center at North Campus every other Saturday from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The nine-week hybrid course will allow students to not only prepare for the state exam but also to have weekly live simulation with 911 phone, radio and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system Both the online 911 dispatcher training and simulation are conducted by instructors with over 25 years of experience as PSTs in police, fire and rescue. Upon completion, the student will receive a certificate of completion and become eligible to take the Department of Health state exam to become a state certified 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator. Students will be required to submit a completed demonstrated competencies check book (provided).

The Correctional Officer Career Certificate (C.C.) provides students with criminal justice training and education to prepare them to manage inmates and perform operational duties in the areas of care, custody, and control within the correctional institution. Through the Criminal Justice Training Center, students learn everything needed to become a corrections officer, from inmate intake, and the use of firearms and defensive maneuvers, to constitutional law, communication equipment, and crisis intervention.

The Firefighter Career Certificate (C.C.) prepares students to meet the requirements for the State of Florida standards for Firefighter I/II The course provides fundamental information on fire department operations Students are trained in the performance of the duties of a firefighter during both emergency and nonemergency operations. This training includes hazardous materials, vehicle extrication, wildland, ropes, ladders, and extinguishing fires. Upon successful completion of the program, students who meet all graduation requirements are eligible to test for the state certification exam with the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training, which consists of a written and practical test.
