Continuing Education Soon we will be preparing the 2013-14 UNC Economic and Community Engagement Metrics report. It will include a section for Continuing Education and/or Professional Development Experiences at FSU. Every non-credit activity conducted from July 2013 through June 2014 should be reported. Send an email to jsmit101@uncfsu.edu with the following information 1) Unit providing program/course 2) Program/course title 3) Total participants 4) Face-to-face, hybrid, or 100% online 5) Were CEUs awarded for this activity?

Continuing Education and Summer School

Register now for FSU’s three-week Executive Leadership for Ministers Certificate program which begins May 20. The goal of the program is to improve ministers’ organizational leadership and management capabilities. See flyer on the Continuing Education website for details. Financial Wellness Lunch and Learn workshop summer series begins May 20, 2014 noon-1pm. Mr. Andreas Hutchinson will present on the topic Reaching your financial goals and dreams May 20, 2014 from noon-1pm, Bronco Square Suite 106. Complimentary lunch provided for pre-registered participants. Bring a friend. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that approximately 10 people drown every day in the U.S. Participation in formal swimming lessons could reduce the likelihood of childhood drowning by 88%. Don’t delay. Sign up the children you care about for our Swim Camp today. Each session of FSU Day Camp, for children currently in K-5th grade, will include academic, athletic, arts, and enrichment activities. This is the summer for Discovering Hidden Treasure. Our 2-week sessions run June 16-August 8 from 7:30 am-5 pm daily. LEGO Camp (August 11-15) is for the child ready to tackle a challenge! Limited space. We will need experienced instructors for a GED program being developed for the Cumberland County Detention Center. Classes will meet 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Increase your chances for admission to law school. Take our LSAT Prep course next fall (September 8-October 30). Study under the guidance of a proven coach. Summer School Summer School registration is up almost 6% against this time last year. Students know that great things happen at FSU in the summer. Thanks in advance to all the faculty and staff for helping our students learn what they need to learn and do what they need to do. Printing allotment increases based on course enrollments are available. Instructors should send an email requesting the increase to Dr. Jane Smith at jsmit101@uncfsu.edu Thanks and credit for the production of our Intersession video go to Ms. Brandi Berry, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication. Reminder: Reimbursements for travel paid with Summer Revenue/CIR funds must be routed through the Office of Summer School before they go to Academic Affairs. Letters of Intent for all summer faculty were delivered to departments May 2, 2014 and are due back to the Office of Summer School by May 9, 2014. And now you know! Spread the word.
