The Partners Area Partners rotate and allow for more use of one space. Four nights a week, the Learning District takes over the same space held by ACE Tutoring, Languages and stats during the day.
Mobility & Flexibility All partners have signs that are easy to change and update. The Learning District & ACE use subject-specific signage to reduce confusion among students seeking particular tutors. Also, all of the chairs and most of the tables are on wheels. Some partners store materials on site. Their cabinets are mobile, as well.
Portable Signage ACE provides mobile signage for their services. It is put up and taken down each day they provide tutoring.
Variety of Spaces Being able to accommodate groups of varying size is important. Sometimes, you have to get creative.
Events in the Library Programming space is crucial to cultivating the social aspect of the library.
Everyone Loves a Party! Students refer to Strozier affectionately as “Club Strozier. To celebrate the opening of the Learning Commons, we brought the party to the students, and they lined up at the door to hang out with us and enjoy their new space.
Artbrary Art is solicited from students, faculty and staff across campus. The result is a dynamic and fresh look to the space each semester.
Library on the Lawn Extending the library’s space to our front porch and Landis Green, we are able to host a variety of campus resource groups each semester. Events include: •Banned Books Week •Resource Luau •Swing into Spring •Halloween on Landis Green
Give Them Room to Grow Rotate schedules Invite potential partners for tours Seek services to benefit your students Manipulate the space the best you can Let your and your partners’ imagination run wild!
