High Slit Kurta’s and rugged denima are something; Girl of today’s gen would love to carry! Adding Boots as an accessory, makes me believe I rule the world.

Stripped sketcher Dresses are my style for Sunday brunches. I like to keep it minimal and casual. Adding accessories to the look is just like completing it in every aspect.

Wedding season is approaching! And I always like to make a style statement with not much exaggeration. Hence just a mangtikka with ethnic makes it look elegant and not too much.

Cotton is forever! And it’s our culture as well. I really appreciate the way, local brands and labels are experimenting with cottons and block prints and makes it look contemporary along with retaining our heritage.. A big YAYY for this!

By BLOGGER VISHWA BHAVSAR BLOG NAME: A CUP OF VISH To all the people working in the socially accepted 9 to 5 jobs or any other profession, Blogging is a past time for girls & (now) guys who are clueless about their career or are just lazy to work. To them, a person who is good looking has enough money, & can only think of shopping is a Fashion Blogger. Just like any other discipline, profession or even caste & looks are stereotyped, Fashion Bloggers are stereotyped this way & judged to the core. There is no basic understanding as to what exactly bloggers do & why.

Let me just start by saying this loud & clear – FASHION BLOGGING (or any other blogging field for that matter) IS A FULL-TIME PROFESSION & NOT JUST GIRLS & GUYS POSTING EVERYWHERE WEARING BRANDED CLOTHING. It is disappointing to see where tv commercials, print media promotions & celebrity promotions are accepted to an extent in the society, but blogging which is more or less the same to all these kinds of promotions are judged.

Blogging is just another way for brands & labels to promote themselves on the digital front & reaching a mass audience through the internet. It’s 2017 & from the youngest kid in your family to your 60-year-old uncle & maybe also your grandparents are on the internet. It’s challenging for the fashion brands to reach to their target audience but through blogger, they can easily see their products promoted to a huge number of audience through their followers. Almost all bloggers are influencers but not all influencers are bloggers, & the brands want to use their influence for their product promotions.

SO HERE IS WHAT WE BLOGGERS ACTUALLY DO : Well, It’s not really easy to be a Fashion Blogger. We bloggers are one woman/man army because we are the Model, Stylist, Art Director, Photographer & Videographer (sometimes), Editor, Writer, Marketing Team, Makeup Artist, Social Media Coordinator, PR, Accountant & the list can go on & on. Which field has got these many roles for one single person? It is important to create regular content in order to be a good blogger & also collaborate with brands & label. We have to keep an eye on the zillion number of brands & labels popping each day & deciding how creatively this can be portrayed to the followers in order to trigger sales.

“n” number of hardships are faced in order to create content for a brand. Starting from the outdoor location hunting & shooting on the perfect time to use the best light source, tops my list of Blogging Hardships. Followed by choosing the right photographer who understands your vision because they are making 70% of the content.

Souring of outfits & convincing the brand to collaborate with you in the initial stage when you don’t have enough followers. And also, convincing them for a monetary collaboration rather than barter.

Vishwa Bhavsar- A Cup Of Vish And there are some perks too, we bloggers get to try on the brand’s latest collections first & give out our reviews to the followers. We get to attend blogger parties & meetups filled with fun activities, delicious food & lots of goodies. We get to be the face of the brand & represent it to a larger audience. We also get to go on brand getaway shoots to different places in the world & of course the financial benefits. BUT, all of these may differ from blogger to blogger depending on what they have to offer in terms of their followers, reach, engagement on each platform & influential status.

Lastly, I would just want to say that a bloggers life is like an open book, they share almost everything with their virtual family & are always connected to their followers through social media. And everybody who wants to be a Fashion Blogger, there is no rulebook for this profession, it’s about your own self & your own style & how influential you can be.

Being A Blogger- Easy OR No Easy?

When you are watching from the side-lines, the life of a blogger is daunting to say but when I started my own fashion website then I realised how much work goes into portraying oneself to represent this lifestyle, to set up attire, to find the perfect location for the shoot, to write a creative blog etc.

Priyal Jain- The Spiffy Lifestyle It’s nothing like we bloggers just have to get ready and get the photo shoots it’s a number of other things we have to go through and being a blogger is really a hardworking job. To reach people expectations is another main task we have to go through, people except a different look for each picture I post on Instagram, having theme and concept base shoot is what my audience look for. BLOGGING=PROFESSION Can fashion blogging be a profession? If I have to answer this question then my answer would be Yes & No both. If you want to make it as the profession against the regular 9-5 job then-No as it requires a lot more work & your time with no confirmation of regular salary on 1st of every month. But if you want to take it as your passion & give your days & night to make it work then yes, it can be your profession.

Nowadays the fashion blogging definition has been changed drastically. The platform has been shifted from regular website to Instagram. If you have good Instagram followings & your style is inspiring other people then the fashion blogging is the perfect profession for you. Your Instagram account will be your portfolio of your work. The brand will look at your Instagram feed & decides if you are suitable for their product or not hence it is very necessary to make very attractive feed on Instagram. Initially, you will get the product on barter basis when your followings & blog statistics are on lower side.

Once you get a large number of followers on Instagram & blog with higher engagement rate with followers then you can get paid by promoting their products on your blog, by attending special launch invites & through affiliate marketing.

There were many platforms where social influencers & brands can work together through various campaigns. Plixxo, blogmint & Indiblogger are few of them. All the campaigns are different for different brands. Sometimes you get money in exchange for a blogpost whereas sometimes you get the product only. Many times brand offers special affiliate link to you for your followers which means if your follower or any person purchases the product by clicking on that link then you will get some percent of the product value as commission. This way you can earn from fashion blogging.

There have been certain times in my past working years when people have told me I am too young to be working already cause I have my entire life ahead of me and this is the time to have fun and enjoy life and I do completely agree but what if you can do both at the same time? Makeup has always been my passion and my sole love, something that has always bought me joy and never let me down.

I believe you should start whenever you are ready regardless of what your age is because nobody gets better overnight, it is a process filled with trials and errors. As they say “art cannot be taught, it comes from within”, it goes the same way with makeup application, you need to know the basics of course but nobody can improve you except you and your practice and creativity, also your patience.

I was into makeup ever since I was a kid, I would take my mom’s liquid eyeliner and lipstick and be content just drawing a single line across my lids. One of my childhood makeup memories is when I went to a younger cousin’s house for the first time and she sneaked her mom’s makeup kit in her room and my soul instantly felt peaceful and joyous at the same time because I had found my safe place and comforting element in the new environment.

Makeup is not just glamorous, it is way more than that, it helps some people feel strong and confident while some people merely see it is as fun and an easy way to dress up. Makeup is more powerful than one can think, if you ask me I would tell you it has always been my safe place where I can go to with any kind of emotion running through my brain or heart and see myself forget about anything wrong happening while just putting my negative emotions or energies into creating something unique. It takes you to a place where you forget all your issues and use your mind to create something beautiful, now that is what you call a way of turning negative into positive in the best way possible.

I was told that the city is ‘chaotic’, ‘busy’, ‘crowded’, ‘traffucked’ and more such terms induced with optimism. Every time I was engulfed by the beautiful chaos in the city, I could hear Geet dispense her wisdom in the movie Jab We Met. “Log kehte hai Mumbai bohot crowded hai. Arey hum jaise logo se hi toh crowd banta hai yaar!”, she’d perspicaciously say.

Every time I indulge in a box of Ferrero Rocher, there are a couple of things that cross my mind. One, the finesse with which it is prepared that makes it melt in my mouth along with the added richness of nuts in abundance. Two, the cost! If the perennial focus is on the latter, how would you possibly focus on the former? The constant perception towards Mumbai is that it is all the above mentioned things, without a slightest possibility of a deviation in perspective about the tranquillity that the same place has to offer. The serenity of the sea or the placidity that the rains bring is a given. Not laying emphasis on that, I happened to relate to those people who found calm in chaos, placidity in being a workaholic and composure in a busy schedule.

Apart from successfully assisting in the above, Mumbai happened to be giving me a wake-up call every now and then. There is something peculiarly unique about this city. It is true that the city never sleeps; however, did you know that it never lets you sleep too? The Mumbai Metro functions from 5 in the morning to 12 at night. And then comes the maintenance work throughout the night, given that my apartment used to oversee the tracks. Think of all the poor souls (no pun intended!) like me, who lived right next to the tracks.

Jokes apart, if you looked a little deeper into the ‘chaos’, you would find people so engrossed in their routine that it was almost as if they worshipped it. There was no place for lethargy, no scope for sluggishness and no sign of reluctance. On days when I did not feel like moving an inch, it was the city that drove me to do it. How many places would do that to you? The days lived outside the city seem longer, rather drag. Maybe this is what happens when a place happens, to you. Mumbai is not a city, it is an experience and more than anything it is the epitome of human capabilities.
